#1 Are they aware it's fiction?

#2 Ok, this clinches it. The dems are completely loony.

#3 A few climate experts have said recently that theory this movie is based on is junk science. Add to that the movie trailer looked lame and the movie could bomb. Add to that Clinton/Gore's 8 years of nada regarding Kyoto and alternative energy sources.

Dems would be wise to avoid getting to close to the movie.

#7 "I was for the Ice Age before I was against it!"

#8 Look out guys, the Dems have had "witch doctors" working on the weather here in LA, to promote the movie. It was 102F/38C yesterday. But the problem is, Kerry is probably going to carry California anyway. There goes incompetent Terry McAuliffe messing up again.

He he he

PS : For non left-coasters - We have this thing called San'tana winds so we can have hot weather Nov-April occasionally.

I've seen 90Fs in January. The only thing is when they start up in March-April all the pollen blows off the desert and everyone's hay fever goes crazy. . . including mine. . .

#9 Btw do you guys know that historically the warm periods between ice ages have lasted only 2-3000 years (ice ages last about 100,000 years). 97% of the time the earth is in what we call "ice ages" kinda implies we should instead be calling this a "warm age"...

Anyway... we've currently been in a warm period for about 11,000 years and scientists aren't sure why. But, there is a growing belief among scientist that humans have actually succesfully delayed the coming of the ice age through organized farming starting about 9,000 years ago and later through industrialization. That's right the only thing keeping us from an ice age is polluting the environment... so get those SUVs running rantburgers we need to save the planet!

#10 I don't know if this is Drudge's wording or if it's actually in the plot, but I love the idea of the ice caps slowly melting with no effect on climate, and then - WHAMMO! - three days later we're in an ice age. I don't quite get how global warming provokes a global ice age, though. Must be nuance.

#11 One thing that the melting of the Greenland icecap would do is completely disrupt the Gulf Stream and plunge the climate of Northern Europe into a very different climate. I mean look at the map and see just how far north Scotland really is. The main thing keaping Northen Europe's climate as mild as it is, is the warm waters of the Gulf Stream.

#12 I've always heard about palaeontologists in Alaska and Siberia finding wooly mammoths who were quick-frozen while chewing on dasies.

I wonder if you can be quick-frozen while chewing on a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich?

#13 I usually like Roland Emmerich's stuff (think "Independence Day" and "Stargate"), but this film is so bogus on so many levels I wouldn't even watch it for free on TV.

It would be a more productive use of 2 hours to just watch oil paint dry.

If the Dems actually believe this ridiculous junk, or even say they do for political purposes, they're dumber and nuttier than I thought.

By the way, for those of you who don't know, the earth's average temperature for the last 100 years has warmed maybe 1 degree F, and most of that was before WWII.

From what I've read about this movie, it gives new meaning to the words "crock of shit."

#17 "I don't quite get how global warming provokes a global ice age, though. Must be nuance."

According to lefty pseudoscience druids eminent authorities, this works in much the same way that setting fire to the Kuwaiti oil fields would cause a global catastrophe akin to nuclear winter. Oh, wait a minute...

#20 DPA, We are in an ice age currently, and have been for that last million and a half years. Otherwise what you say is correct.

#22  BigED!!! Absolutely hilarious!! LOL!! You really made my day with that one.

I'm gonna go see it. I think it looks fun. It's a movie for cryin' out loud! Hey, pass the popcorn . . .

And I think somebody needs to tell the Dems that "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." Maybe we should all go to Al Gore's gig. He invented the ice age, after all. And I never did get to thank him for inventing the internet . . .
