#1 Mossberg 500 8+1 is a fine tool. Because of the 20" barrel and the resultant spread I would suggest #4s

#2 Winchester Defender here with 18" barrel (holds 8 shells), pistol grip and shoulder sling - .00 shells BTW - I like to clean it in front of my 18 yr old daughter's new dates

#3 Got a nice 12-gauge bird gun with a 3/4 choke barrel. I prefer a super-x hand-load of 1/3 buckshot, 1/3 dried pork rind, 1/6 rock salt, and 1/6 small gravel. Rough on the barrel - needs an immediate cleaning. Best place to aim is the belly-button. There aren't enough sutures anywhere to completely stitch the recipient up without some major re-arrangment. At 35 feet, only a tiny portion of the load doesn't penetrate, and a few pieces make it all the way through. Reaches from just under the sternum to just below the crotch.
