#1 Upon reading the text of Iraqs letter, it is easily seen that Iraq will deal with inspectors as they see fit. Not in a way that will achieve what the UN desires. I would have never thought that he would try to dupe inspectors.

#2 If that's what he's thinking of trying, he's likely going to fail, especially as the US is going to turn up the heat on Hans Blix and his people to be double-triple-thorough in their appointed rounds.

I raised my eyebrow a bit to see it come this early (the acceptance), but I was almost 100% sure it was going to work out like this from the moment I heard about Iraq's "parliament" roaring, stomping and pawing the ground. It was a leadpipe cinch from then on that Saddam was going to play good cop to the parliamentarians' bad cop.
