#1 A neighbor called police after hearing the gunshots, but Ms Hendrix died outside her home while a relative held her hand.

We owe the brave Dot Hendrix a debt of thanks. Had she not shot Mr. Hendrix, these people might have escaped to rob and kill again.

#2 Interesting comments from victim's niece and others on the TV station site linked in the Mail story. Apparently some think it's unfair that Ms. Hendrix is being portrayed as a bag lady for illegal gambling interests. Some question the motives of the local cops.

#3 If you read the comments further you discover one of the perps was a nephew of a local law enforcement officer, who may have known about the gambling machines.... and cash. This could get rather ugly.
