#1 The 30 year influx of "asians" into western Europe happened without very much awareness or concern. It is just now becoming well known.

The incidents of violence have brought about a new discussion in Europe. Where that discussion leads is anyones guess. The problem is there and is growing like a cancer. Recently we have seen fear of the relative birthrate of immigrants and native populations resulting in the Islamization of some countries of Western Europe in 20 or 30 years. The worry is that they will control the legislatures of those countries. Unnoticed is the annual increase in the drain on the economies of those countries through accelerating rates of unemployment and welfare payments. The usual justification of immigration is the need for more workers to support the retirees in those countries. But, in each of those countries the unemployment rate of the immigrants is obscene. Their language and educational skill are low and their value to the economy as producers is limited.

Even if immigration is halted today Europe has to address the integration of the current population without adding to the burden.

Samuel Huntingtons new book, Who We Are, addresses the past waves of immigration into the US and how those immigrants became Americanized within a generation or two. The waves of immigration were halted for some time before a new one was started. In the interim the immigrants melded into the culture. One of the first steps when you are in a hole is to stop digging. Europe has to stop new immigration before it can get out of the hole it has dug.

The wave of intimidation and local terrorism in the Arab countries is reminiscent of the Mafia in Sicly and NY and the drug lords in Columbia. Judges, prosecuters, witnesses are all threatened and a few killed as an object lesson. Newspaper reporters who report the truth are killed. Before long, society is cowering in fear of the thugs. And the thugs use their power to provide some benefits to the populace, thereby replacing the government as the source of security and well being. See Hamas and Hezbollah as examples. The secular intellectuals in Arab lands were purged years ago through fear. viz. Salmon Rushdie. Read Fouad Ajami for a history of that in Syria and Egypt.

And now this phenomenon is being visited on Western Europe. They had better stop it now before it becomes the accepted format of life.

A version of martial law will be required. And Europe (and the US) are a long way from accepting martial law. (see Patriot Act hysteria). Only when the situation becomes untenable will democracies accept the cure.

#2 One consequence of Muslim immigration and birth rates I have not seen addressed is who will man Europe's armies in the next couple of decades?

#3 Islam seems to have a knack for creating chaos. Most people forget or don't care to know, that N. Africa, prior to the Arab conquest, was home to the civilizations of the Berbers and part of the Christian Byzantine empire. Perhaps the Western Europeans are the modern equivalent of the Berbers and the Byzantines.

The following is an excerpt from the 15th addition of the Encyclopedia Britannica article on North Africa:
The Arab Problem (circa 1270): "These three kingdoms were ruled by Berber dynasties, but their politics was constantly dominated by the Arab problem. The Bedouins had by this time invaded all the plains and all the transitional areas; Ma'qil groups had spread throughout the pre-sahara zone. Although undisciplined and militant, the Arab tribes, from the 13th to the 15th centuries, furnished the bulk of the military forces available to the sultans. Their top leaders joined the government and, through marriage or adoption, were often allied with the royal families.
Above all, the Arabs exerted a disastrous influence on economic life. Even in the most fertile plains they practiced nomadism, into which they dragged the previously sedentary Berber population, which gradually amalgamated with them.
The arrival of the Arabs was frequently accompanied by devastation; in every possible way they undermined the sedentary peasant way of life, which had constituted the strength and good fortune of North Africa in ancient times and in the first centuries of Islam. Roving tents replaced villages and rural hamlets. Gardens and orchards were abandoned while the forests retreated. Only the mountains escaped these disastrous transformations. The ancient and normal economy of North Africa was perverted into swift impoverishment.

#4 I have it on expert authority that North Africa is Arab, since they speak Arabic. The Berbers are a Zionist propaganda ploy.

#7 Given the rapidly increasing Islamic population and the Islamic educational preference (Koran and explosives manufacture), it is hard to see how Europe's technology based economy can do other than collapse into itself.
