The self-proclaimed libertarian, which he isn’t, periodically has outbursts like this, possibly a sort of Tourette syndrome. Past outbursts got his Politically Correct show banished from ABC; since then his show has lived in an obscure corner of HBO.

But he frequently interviews conservatives on his show — always has — and that is probably the only exposure those on his side of the aisle get to hear people like Ben Shapiro and Milo Yiannopoulos unfiltered.
