#2 The fall caused bleeding in the 89-year-old grandfather’s brain. He developed pneumonia. The comatose Salzinger died Thursday, 12 days after the Oct. 27 incident.
This sequence of events is a rather common occurrence when the elderly fall, no matter the immediate cause of the fall. Sometimes they will die within a few hours rather than taking this long.
