#2 I read someplace once that there was somewhere in the neighborhood of 9,000 reprisal killings in France in the 12 months following Liberation.

My own wife's Tory ancestors bolted North Carolina for Nova Scotia in the 1780's.

A lot of Ba'athists goons are getting whacked around the country and I'm afraid it's inevitable.

Yeah, the anti-liberation creeps will use it to say we can't keep a lid on Hell but to paraphrase Jefferson, the tree of Liberty needs the blood of tyrants.

Well hell, makes sense to me, being as how the Baathists had free rein over Iraq for the past thirty years or so. Since she was a Baath official at some point, what are the chances that she was, at one time or another, involved in something unethical or shady by common standards?
