#1 Okinawans, etc. may want the US to leave, but the Japanese Diet = Govt. prefers the US to remain until Japan can formally rearm + dev its own NucWeaps.

Many Chinese Politicos, Perts + Bloggers recognize the above, = desire for "post-US", future World #1 Rising China to attack-iff-not-destroy Japan before it devs NucWeaps = indogenous NucArsenal, or otherwise to finally permamently resolve the various sovereignty issues in the East + South China Seas before it does.
