#1 Any bets on the political leanings of this award-giving organization? I know where I'm putting my $10...

#2 ethical and philosophical principles of equality and human rights as basic tenets of the USA

If that were true we would've seen hundreds of people hung or fried in chairs under her judgeship.

#3 Zero: Nobelist who did nothing to earn it.
Ginsburg: "Philosopher" who has done nothing to deserve that label.
Up = down. Night = day

Shitshow, Part 148.

#4 She's on a high pedestal today, but when she's too sick to do the job and Trump gets to replace her she'll be mud for not resigning while Obama was in office.

#5 Maybe she can use the award to prolong her life.

#6 But remember. School teachers across the US have to buy pencils and paper out of their own pockets (hoary leftist chestnut) but there is money for this. And half a billion for Le Boon to sell Chinese communism here.

#7 re #6: Not some 'hoary leftist chestnut," but true. Daughter and son-in-law both math teachers and they spend a not trivial amount for school supplies for their classrooms.
One size does not fit all in this case.

#8 Kinda like Oblowme's Nobel Peace Prize?

#9 I'd always understood:
* The decisions once made at the local level where schools face the parents have been shifted to the districts and further up to the Department of Education.
* That bad teachers can't be fired and are generally warehoused with pay.
* We've increased the number of well paid union reps and bureaucrats in most school districts.

Seems there is a solution taxpayers might accept
in there somewhere...

#10 More like the Berggruen Prize for Philosophy & Culture people will find themselves facing serious jail time for undue influence of a supreme judge.

Likewise if Ruth Ginsburg accept, she will have to resign immediately because her judgement would be suspected of being influenced by the Berggruen Prize for Philosophy & Culture people and as such would not be able to judge fairly.
