#4 I was about to post the same regarding solar sales. All the designs I've seen depend on solar wind.

I have read about some plan to send a mission to Mars using an Earth based laser as energy but it wasnt the same thing.

#6 There are solar sail designs that work on light and big magnetic field assemblies that would work with the solar wind and various combinations of the two.
