#3 That's from Fazlur Rehman, trying to prove to the military junta in the 'Stain that Imran cannot handle it. Pakistain - where a putsch is always on Rehman is an idiot himself. The military babus know Imran Khan is the best bet to keep filling their coffers. As I said the other day, every committed bureauRAT and corrupt legislator hates the ideologues in politics.

The generals humour and service the mullahs just to keep people in constant servitude, and criminal enterprises running under pretext of jihad. But as much as the Jamiat desires, they'll never wrest real power in Pakistain. The day someone religious comes along in the top brass, commandeering the defense apparatus for purposes of Jihad... that day the world shall seriously need to evaluate the use of nukes again.

Some backstory

The Nawaz Sharif govt had banned several NGOs owned by Soros and his subsidiaries. It basically all began when the Save the Children group came under fire for doctor Afridi being used by the CIA to catch UBL. But it went on in an extortion spree to which Soros said 'No', and the Open Society Foundation was shuttered there.

Now

So Imran Khan met with Soros in NY before the UNGA thingy to invite them back in. They have had talks over the phone over it, but since Soros was there they met up. Also, Soros has pull with Amnesty, which Imran wishes to use to display solidarity with Kashmir.

More interestingly Soros has shown acute interest in the infrastructure projects in Afghanistan which the 'Stain believes it can 'fix them up with'. Pakis tend to forget their place when they wear Armani.
