#1 Three of these submarines (Dolphin-class diesel) were a German "gift" to Israel promised by Helmut Kohl in 1991 and delivered 1999. With a traveling range of 4,500 kilometers, these vessels have the ability to launch cruise missiles, and can remain at sea for up to a month. (Jerusalem Post says Israel bought them but they were in fact paid for by the Germans, or at least heavily subsidised). The Israelis had insisted on bigger torpedo barrels as usual (650 mm instead of the usual 533 mm... the German defense department probably knew why. It refused to clearly answer parliamentary questions about the reasons for this change.

#2 It will be awful tough to figure out who shot the cruise missiles. Could be the point.

#3 "awful tough to figure out who shot the cruise missiles"

Agreed, - not too many parts available to identify, and that nuke reactor may have just blown up in a Mullah work accident hmmm?

#4 "that nuke reactor may have just blown up in a Mullah work accident" -- Actually, I think they'd just have to use their worker's comp. for that one and not sue anybody.
