#3 The Taliban of Afghanistan did that once, back when they were running the country. How are they doing now, as they look ahead to the years when they should be enjoying a comfortable retirement without Predators hunting them?

The Taliban strategy across the entire Regional Command spetrum is reported to be one of waiting us out, while at the same time, saving Zakat (money) and resources, and continuing an aggressive assassination program against the wobbly GIRoA government. The rainy season has just begun. In fact we've had showers on and off all day. These buggers are fair weather fighters. Ever see a man in a wet manjam and soggy Kandahari hat?

'Waiting us out' is precisely what I would do. It is a sound, long-term strategy. Why poke the beast with a stick, he's trying to find the door! Besides, it's difficult to transport explosives and weapons through the border mountain passes in bad weather. Takes a lot of work and effort, which are not generally acceptalbe traits here in these parts, except for wymin folk.

Meanwhile back in the safety of the Mosques and Madrassas of Pakistan, life goes on in a tone quite celebration. Taliban seeded, birthing incubators continue to turn out a fresh crop of future suicide bombers (it's a 12-15 year process... including schooling, weapons training, and Jihadi indoctrination) but it has to start somewhere eh? Short of total thremo-nuclear iniolations, does anyone really believe we can alter this process?

#5 Besoeker, do you think the Taliban will get Afghanistan back after we leave, assuming we stay gone? Or will they get to continue their jihad ad infinitum, breaking their skulls against the non-Pashtun Afghans?

A Bammer-led US War agz Iran is also preceived because its is felt that the Bammer will send returning Mil Units from AFPAK to the troubled SW US Borders, but N-O-T to militarily intervene in Mexico's efforts to stem the on-going inter-Cartel violence in its north.

IIUC, BAMMER 2012 RE-ELEX STRATEGY = KEEP THE US OUT OF RECESSION/DEPRESSION + WAGE UNILATERAL WAR ON IRAN TO PRECLUDE RISE OF AN AMBITIOUS, NUKE-ARMED, REVOLUTIONARY SHIA ISLAMIC STATE.
