Haaahahahaha!!!!! One lousy month. After that, Arafart will then review their "record" and decide to extend their authority for another month, then another review, etc etc. This is all nothing more than another silly joke originating from Arafart's ass. If GWB and Powell think that negotiations are possible with the Palestinians while this circus is still in town, well, they're living in a fantasy world, to say the least.

#2 The PA constitution requires that if the president is incapacitated, his post would be temporarily filled by the Speaker of the Palestinian legislature. However, the Speaker's position is currently vacant, following Ahmed Qureia's resignation from it in order to become prime minister. Following Thursdayâs meeting of the Palestinian legislature at which Arafatâs appointment of an emergency cabinet was rebuffed, Qureia reportedly signaled Arafat that he no longer wants the position.
