#10 Bad situation that I fear will get worse. Mall is a tactical nightmare and I suspect most of the hostages are muzungu (white folk in Swahili). Mall is less than 10km from US Embassy and a big weekend hangout for expats. I hope the Kenyans call in some "expertise" to assist.

I'm starting to see a future where 'services' like this are privatized or outsourced by governments unable or unwilling to do the job themselves. Once upon a time, Uncle Sam might fill this niche, we don't seem to have the stones for it lately.
