#1 The Ukraine estimate is 53k+ Russian soldiers killed.

A Russian news source recently reported the total compensation to families of Russian soldiers killed in battle and also the compensation per person. That came out to about 48k so that validates the Ukrainian estimate.

#2 That would mean 70+% of the initial invasion force is already killed or wounded. I think Ukraine claims about 200,000+ KIA+WIA. That strains credibility.

More likely the document is fake or high level corruption is using inflated casualty figures to drain the treasury.

#5 A leaked Russian finance document outlying the amount paid out had a number of 48,000 and change dead. So there have been at least 100k casualties the Russians have suffered in this war. Most likely over 150k killed, wounded or missing.

#9 I dunno, even in retreat, the Russians are making a pretty impressive mess. Also, looting everything of value. That's a lot of dead loss.

Nobody ever wants war on their own soil. It's ruinous.
