I remember the Chemistry Department at the old University noticed that a little used chemistry lab room (third floor, dusty, way, way back there in the cobwebs and spiders) had been turned into a Meth production lab by a cash-hungry Graduate Assistant...

#3 Doubt its about the sun as there are many solar observatories around the world. Too many eyes and mouths to suppress information concerning solar activity. So, it probably is an local event.

#4 Given NASA's long time history of turning off satellites whenever something odd flies by. Maybe the Sunspot staff weren't playing ball.

Are Unmarked helicopters typically used for drug raids or whatever? And FYI the post office is actually on the observatory grounds.
