#1 We just had another incident in Munich Old Town. A man was reported to run around with a machete. Lots of police with automatic guns swarming the area around Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt, helicopters, too. No more info at this point, nothing in the media (yet).

As I recall, asylum seekers used to cluster around the city center train station. Is that still so, and is that the same area?

#5 Most of the police presence was in Tal (the street running from Marienplatz to Isartor, so not in the railway station area.

Still nothing in the media although I talked to a person who saw the guy.

#7 Weird to think you might have to "watch your ass" in Garmisch Partenkirchen. Still, thus isn't mostly the Turks is it EC? I saw them all over Germany when I was there and they didn't seem to be a problem.
