#1 Faryab province is mostly ethnic Uzbek.

It has the beginnings of an oil and petroleum production and refining infrastructure.

The taliban have been taking control of portions of the province off and on since about 1998 or so.

#2 It might not hurt to put some imagery of what has been happening to Taliban and ISIS members on the local media from time to time just to remind them what happens when they get too big for their britches.
