#6 Over a decade ago, before the current migrant surge, I had heard that the Dutch Language was going extinct as a Living Language. The younger generation was using the neighboring languages in preference in common, every day speech: English, French or German were in more common usage.

*Hmmm* Were they already starting to lose their Group Identity back then?

#7 The Dutch own the company I work for. The place is packed with people speaking Dutch. I don't know about a decade ago but it is far from dead now.

They are all non-confrontational, super tall, and like colorful pants.

Those other languages are how they speak with non-Dutch speakers. Among themselves they happily revert to their own tongue, much like a small group of children babbling in their private variant of pig latin to the exclusion of outsiders.
