#11 For those susceptible, this is a murderous virus that (unlike most viruses) actually infects T-cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells and spreads its own misleading form of cytokines as a smoke screen. Doubtful Cain was treated with T-cell boosting support or interferon and other immune stimulating and regulatory factors, but that’s what’s needed to survive if you’re susceptible to this thing due to genetics, precondition, or particular viral strain.

Given reports he was improving, I suspect he succumbed to clotting, which is another notorious unique aspect of this Frankenvirus. Hope the hospital hadn't relaxed concern since he was "so far along with recovery."
