Alex is a journalist and generally curious human being. At the moment, she's the news editor of the Portland Mercury, where she covers cops, city politics, civil rights, and housing issues.

The Portland Mercury sounds like one of those free rags that advertise clubs, bands, massage parlors and head shops.
