#2 Over the past several weeks, the number of people either injured or murdered in shootings in Chicago has rapidly grown too large to keep track of.

I assume the author is being poetic and means the number of shootings is mind-boggling. Hey Jackass seems to be doing a good job of tracking the numbers. So far in July, 268 peeps have been shot, with 1992 YTD.

If you miss following the baseball box scores, this might be a substitute.
