#1 But just remember children, taking HCQ means you give up a chance to contribute to herd immunity.

#2 Herd Immunity would be a good band name.
Especially if you spelled it Heard Immunity to be all edgy and ironic.

#3 ^Yea, but you know it will be a band what never gets to their own concerts.

#4  taking HCQ means you give up a chance to contribute to herd immunity.

Why? As I understand it, HQC — whether or not plus zinc and azithromycin or plus the asthma inhaler — is not a cure, but merely allows the patient’s immune system to fight off the infection without being overwhelmed by the fallout of a cytokine storm. So herd immunity would be improved by one more survivor rather than diminished by another corpse.

#5 No. Actually, to the extent that we understand its action, it prevents viral replication
The molecular ionic attachment of HCQ to RNA
nucleotides enabled by AZR results in the inhibition of the replication capability of the coronavirus disease
COVID-19
.
No viral replication, no immune response. And therefore, no immune memory - immunity.
That's why it's a good prophylactic and not so good cure.
Mind you, I think "herd immunity" is on par with perpetuum mobile or Lamarckism.

#6 That would imply 100% effectiveness, you'll perhaps obtain a lower immune response but you'll still get anti-bodies to the foreign viral DNA.

#8 Sounds like it's akin to acyclovir which works but does not cure HPV type viruses such as cold-sores.

i.e. it can stop a virus being a problem, but not stop the virus dead.

#9 What sort of worldwide pandemic requires daily scare articles to remind us that it even exists?

Are you an immunologist, g(r)omgoru? All this time I thought you were a physicist. I still remember your scornful summary of Stephen Hawking as taking credit for the contributions of others.

You confuse me with somebody else.

(Incidentally, the papers I wrote at the time enjoying a modest renascence - just goes to show: desperate people will clutch at straws).

Nowadays, I do evolutionary games for myself and - whatever people are willing to pay me for - for money.

#12 /\ G, could you expand a bit more please, on the evolutionary games? I would like to hear more.

#14 I think I have a handle on what it is, from a few perspectives. Just interested in what you do.

#15 #14 In Google Scholar type "gromgoru", then click on the author's name. It'll take you to my profile (list of publications)

I most heartily apologize, g(r)omgoru. I wonder who it was — I owe him an apology, too.

But Google Scholar is cool. I’m looking up everyone I know who is published. :-)
