#5 I wonder about this 'last-minute' travel issue as well. I'm sure it happens; when you have a multi-million dollar/euro deal hanging, sometimes you have to fly someone somewhere to handle it. Sure, fine, and we want people to do this. Some sort of clearing mechanism, a 'preferred traveller' arrangement could be made.

In the meantime, we have to be careful.

#6 This is a ridiculous proposition. The international global jihad does not seem to have any problem moving any asset anywhere at any time. They've got plenty people working in the visa offices, I am quite sure.

Instituting more bureaucratic hurdles for regular folks is not going to hurt anyone but us.

#7 Hard to see how this hurts many regular folks. I agree that there is very little "last minute" international travel done on commercial airliners.

If the Europeans don't like it, they should secede from EUrabia. But as long as they are willing to lie down with pigs, they shouldn't be surprised if they have to wash off before they can leave the sty.

#8 Steve, I suspect that high-powered business-types like the ones you're talking about already have passports and visas to most of the country's in which they have business dealings or potential business dealings. If they don;t then one or two day's time isn;t going to make much difference to them at all (if a deal's worth that much money someone is willing to wait 48-72 hours).
