#1 UN Resolution 1701, which ended Israel's 2006 invasion of Lebanon, called for the cessation of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel and the withdrawal of Hezbollah to north of the Litani river and of Israel from Lebanon.
Israel will use 1701 to attack and occupy Lebanon south of the Litani. It must do so to protect its own settlements south of the present Israel-Lebanon border. This time it should occupy and not leave.
