#1 Shooting at drones is a federal crime. It's interfering with an aircraft in flight. That applies to hobbyist drones as well.

#2 ^ Like all laws in the USA, it's selectively enforced. The little old lady in Virginia who shotgunned a drone over her farm a few years ago was not charged or prosecuted, to my knowledge.

#3 There's also an FAA rule about not flying below 750 feet. One might argue that some UFO diving at your house could be considered an imminent threat.
