#2 After the shooting it came out that Omar Mateen had been an habitué of the Pulse as well as other gay clubs for at least a decade, Lord Garth. He’d had several liaisons therein addition to having a wife and son at home, as I recall, which fits his Afghan heritage. But he had also boasted of having jihadi connections for nearly as long as his FBI-informant father had had a radio show praising the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

Given that he scouted potential killing sites that included Disney World, I agree it seems likely he chose the Pulse because he he knew it well and could easily bring in weapons, rather than objecting to the proclivities of the clientele.
