#1 Kenya's been devolving pretty fast for the last decade. And it has a substantial Muslim population (generally not extremist.) At this point an Islamist invasion/uprising might not be successful but it would not be easily suppressed either.

#2 Go ahead, al-Shabaab, mass your "troops" for an invasion of Kenya. US Navy aircraft LOVE massed troops. I'd recommend a mix of napalm and GBUs, preferably about an hour before local dawn. All those massed "battlewagons" will make an adequate radar picture to ensure accurate bombing.

REALLY wish we had a couple of REAL battleships to use against these idiots. Replace the heavy turrets with GMLRS launchers, replace the rear turret with a helicopter and UAV hangar, and replace the 8-inch turrets with Patriot and Harpoon launchers. Replace the 40mm with CIWS, and remove half the 20mm and 50cals. It would still be an awesome weapon, with the capacity to reach out nearly twice as far as the gun-only version. Heck, add a couple of Tomahawk launchers, and it becomes a strategic asset!

You could do the same thing with a VLCC. And for less expense.
