#2 Maybe Kennedy figures if he can force this before he dies, then the devil will give him an extension on his contract.

#6 “The draft doesn't address how this would all be paid for. That remains a major sticking point.”

According to President Obama this will be accomplished by “enacting appropriate proposals to generate additional revenues”. How quaint.
Translation: Raise taxes.
The One also suggested the rest of the tab could be made up through "savings". How innovative.
Translation: Cut payments to medical providers, ration care, cook the books, and shift the costs to taxpayers.
Welcome to “Stealth Care” sucka!

#7 I have a few physician friends who are for single-payer national health financing.

A couple of them refuse to take Medicare patients into their own practices. And virtually all of them refuse Medicaid.

I try to point out the inconsistency here but I get a lot of hand-waving in return. Obama will make it right, they say.

Uh-huh.

#8 "The draft doesn't address how this would all be paid for. That remains a major sticking point."

Easy ...
1) Raise taxes
2) Cap salaries for doctors (decreasing supply of domestic doctors)
3) Limit payments (and availability) for pharmaceuticals
4) Ration treatment for anyone over 55 (who's not a politician)
5) Make euthanasia cheap and readily available
