#1 The whole reason they joined the political class is to avoid accountability.

The only other way to achieve that end would be to become a Twitch thot, and that's not an option for the average pol.

I don't expect to see anything happen to them under the current state of affairs.

#2 Will The Political Class Ever Be Held Liable For What They've Done?

I see little evidence which might point to this happening.

#3 The entire point of a committee is to make sure no individual is ever on the hook for any bad decision or the fall-out from same.

#4 They're playing with fire. If they set fire to the place (scorched earth aka if I can't rule, no one will), they'll find that instead of being in charge, they'll be marched up the steps to execution. It's the only way humans seem to learn from a history they've thrown away believing they're above it all.

That's the exact approach of Charlie Baker in Mass. I heard this douchenozzle on Monday, announcing his 4-step plan to 'safely' re-open the economy (that he shut down unilaterally), with some paraphrasing - 'We're going to establish an advisory board, and a working committee to study this matter, and a blue ribbon panel that's really going to study this mattyer', etc. The Beacon Hill / government employee mentality was on full display; my bureaucracy bullshit meter broke instantly.

#6 Has anyone suggested Cuomo's motivation for returning the sick to the nursing homes was so that the State would not have to pay for their care in the new Javitts Center hospital? 'Stick it to the private sector'?

I think he was going for a two-fer. He trims a little off his unfunded pension problem and he gets to inflate his Corvid mortility rate and get more funds.

#8 /\ All the while simply saying he was ... "following guidance from the White House."

#9 Ok, so if "sovereign immunity" shields this bastard from criminal charges, can Cuomo nonetheless be sued for civil damages - wrongful death for ex. - by the relatives of the thousands he killed?

#10 Does being a governor absolve you from criminal charges? I should think Cuomo could face manslaughter at the very least. Second Degree murder is not beyond possibility. But he's a hero and orange man bad.

#11 ..its like a cops shooting. They get off but the city/state has to pay restitution. How about one generation exemption from any state income taxation?

License to steal and do other nefarious things. Two systems of justice.
