#1 Kinda like the Democrats - promote those loyal to the Party, whether they're decent, law-abiding citizens or not.

Any person that puts Party ahead of their Nation is a tyrant. They may not believe they are, and will probably denounce those that shine a light on them, but they are tyrants. That's why the Russian Communist party could maintain control of Russia for so long - only one party, and only party members could be elected to office. Also, only party members got any of the goodies. That's one reason I won't belong to either the Dummycheats or the Repuglycons. That's also why Sarah Palin is a threat to the Republican establishment - she's more committed to the electorate that support her than the party she belongs to.
