#4 Beso, I wonder about those numbers too. China DOES have a large presence in the oil fields of Sudan, and in the mines to the south, but not that kind of numbers. But if you take the work 'citizens' out, then a million is way too small; ethnic Chinese dominate commerce all along the east coast and have for a hundred years. No idea what kind of family connections they have with the China of the CPC.

This latest wave of Chinese migrants - thought to total up to 750,000 - is not the first to have travelled to Africa.

In the 1960s, China's communist leader Mao Zedong forged close links with the continent in a bid to garner political support.

But the Chinese who have moved to Africa in the last 10 years are going for economic, not political reasons as they did under Mao.

#6 All jokes aside, were the Chin to take over Africa would probably be a GOOD THING.
it allows "Breathing room" at home.

As far as I can tell the Africans have never done anything but murder each other.
