#1 Stories like this have been coming out of Iraq for years, and it is frustrating the only time such heroism is even mentioned is with the issuance of a citation, or if a very rare journalist like Michael Yon got wind of it.

Mind the Combat spoons! They really are meanest of the mean.

#3 Halbisengibbs "continued to clear the structure in complete darkness as his night vision goggles and personal radio were all destroyed by enemy gunfire at point blank range," the official narrative said.

Our kids are good. Really good.

#4 I can only imagine what went through his mind as he looked back and saw the Iraqi troops walking the wrong way, disoriented. I think somewhere in his mind was F&*k um.

Six months later at 10th group drinking beer in the team room," No S#!t, there we were and the local troops were assaulting into the lake!" " That's OK, three against 12, it was a fair fight, and we killed the HVT."

While serving at USASOC I found men like these, the norm and in every team room. It was only after I retired did I realize the rest of our society has little to no honor or integrity and how truly rare and special men like these three are in our world. Medals and ribons can never convey the debt we owe men like this.

#5 There's honour and integrity in the civilian world, too, 49 Pan. It just doesn't get reported or celebrated. But if it weren't the norm, society wouldn't function.
