#1 Crimea has been Russian since 1783 When Catherine the Great Invaded the Crimea and Put the Rest of the World on Edge

From the link:

When the Russo-Turkish War began in 1768, the Tatars who lived on the Crimea operated somewhat autonomously under a Khanate. The predominantly Muslim population descended from centuries of intermarriage between the native Turkic people and Mongol armies who had occupied the region during Genghis Khan’s time. They had a fractious relationship with the surrounding Russian and Polish-Lithuanian Empires because they raided their neighbors, engaging in human trafficking. As Russia expanded southward, these raids decreased in frequency, but continued to take place until the annexation of the Crimea.

The 1774 Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca temporarily ended the conflict, leaving the Crimea with nominal independence but giving Russia control of key ports on the peninsula. Catherine refused all offers from Prussia, Austria and France of further mediation, determined to continue pursue her territorial ambitions in the region. Catherine’s fellow monarchs ultimately accepted the loss of the Crimea’s independence, and Russia formally annexed the Crimea in 1783.

So, tell me again, Z-man, what is your justification for claiming Crimea for Ukraine?

#2 Most if not all of the borders in that part of the world have been in dispute for thousands of years. Now would be the time to call for an international conference to settle these issues diplomatically and with consideration for the people who live there. But it seems that nobody wants a diplomatic solution and everybody would prefer to grab what they can militarily - with complete disregard for the people who live there or for how many people die.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if our own president was a man of peace instead of a war monger? Why won't he offer American resources and offices to a diplomatic settlement?

#3 Mexico would like full restoration of their territory. It seems as if that is more likely to happen. It might take Biden a full four year term to do it. They will likely need to expel the Nicaraguans, Guatemalans and Salvadorans at some point.
