#2 "Fox said Mexico, which is presiding over the U.N. Security Council, will work to strengthen and give the council full credibility ..."

Uh ... this should have been done BEFORE we went in to Iraq. Too late buddy.

#3 "At least Fox isn't Chiraq."

No he isnt, and we never got to see how he would have voted at the UNSC - one of the benefits of NOT calling a vote on the 2nd/18th res was to avoid putting nations like Mexico on the spot, and allowing all blame to fall on the French and Russians(but mainly the French). If we want to continue to punish/isolate the French, it makes sense to reach out to everyone else who wants to get back into our good graces, such as Mexico and Germany. Punishing countries is a dangerous course in international relations - if we're going to do it, lets at least decide who most needs to be punished (IE France) and focus on them alone.

#4 Fox is talking one story, and doing another. His controvertial "dual citizenship" proposal, his refusal to help stem the tide of illegal immigrants across the Mexican border, his troops' violation of the US border on numerous occasions, the issuance of documentation to illegal immigrants by Mexican consulates, and the interference by Mexican consular officials in the legal activities of the United States are the actions of someone OTHER than a staunch friend of the United States. Fox needs the same cold shoulder we're giving Chirac until he stops trying to regain control of former Spanish territory in the US by indirect means.

#5 The only good thing about Fox's arrogance -- and liberalhawk, you're being coy about "we never got to see how he would have voted": we surely know, even if we didn't make him do it -- is that he's scuttled any possibility of loosening our southern border (via "amnesty" or otherwise).

#6 President Vicente Fox pledged cooperation with the United States in the fight against terrorism Tuesday, saying that differences over Iraq have not damaged the two countries' relationship.

Bullshit. I'd be more than overjoyed to see a substantial uptick in the number of Mexican illegal aliens deported, and an increase in Border Patrol staffing and interdiction. Up yours, Presidente Fox.
