#2 Got to remember that the army Cortez lead in the siege of Tenochtitlan was largely composed of native tribes throwing off the yoke of Aztec oppression. Sort of rips a the heart of the faux victimhood.

#8 Why? Everybody benefited from the destruction of the Aztecs. I would rather be ruled by the fractured, civil-war ridden "state" of Mexico, or even Syria, than people who quite literally spent their years conquering their neighbors and offering ten or hundreds of thousands of human sacrifices at a time.
