Overall Percentage of Deaths Under Trump 1.4% of Those Infected

Phenomenal. No wonder MSM is going nuts against Trump.

U.S. currently has a death rate of approx. 1.5%
Germany has 0.5%

In NOT overwhelmed health systems, percentages will align in the next weeks.

#14 Iceland's numbers are very high but this is due to extensive testing, which means the results are much closer to the REAL infection rate.

That's why rates in countries like the U.S. sare shooting up. The real numbers are indeed higher, but this also mans the death rates will fall.

But no, not half of Britain's population already had it.

#18 "I would love to have the country opened up and raring to go by Easter."

I expect the media will have fun with that, but I ask you: Would any sane person not like to see the country 'opened up' by Easter?

"Sane", so Dems and Never-Trumpers not included.

#19 Trump's approval rate is soaring because he's shown himself to be sensible, relatively calm, optimistic and flexible: exactly what's required of a leader in such times.

Gallup just posted results of their latest poll: 60% of the public support his handling of the COVID-19 challenge. All the other polls are showing the same change in public opinion. The media's lies and slander are backfiring on them, big time.

Pelosi has just completely folded. I'll bet this happened in part because a goodly portion of that 60% -- the real number of Trump supporters is probably slightly higher - gave Pelosi and the Democratic obstructionists an earful on Monday.

#23 He's not a contractor, EC. His #1 job is the same priority that Reagan had in 1981 and that FDR and Churchill: to project optimism, to show relentless focus and positive energy, and to inspire hope.

He's trying to shift the narrative away from panic, despair and endless gloom toward a cautious optimism that we can pursue the dual-track approach that he and Gov. Cuomo are both beginning to recommend.

The man is doing exactly what should be done. Bless him.

#24 Thinking positively is fine, but thinking unrealistically isn't. Even the Chinese with their radical measures didn't bring it down that fast.

OTOH I don't complain. One of our major U.S. clients paid his bill today.
Posted by European Conservative 2020-03-25 08:11||   2020-03-25 08:11|| Front Page Top

#25 No, but it's a hopeful one EC. I believe the hope is that the serious caseload will be declining by then. Plus we may have a treatment or two in circulation.

Probably other factors as well, but yes Mr. Trump will be excoriated for this statement as he was for shutting down travel to/from China in late January.

He's like any good leader should be, offer hope with actions never deviating from the path in fulfilling that hope.

#28 Oh pls EC lighten up. The man obviously chose to inject a wee bit of humor by recalling the Resurrection. Everyone gets it.

That sourpuss, prissy literal-mindedness you're recommending is exactly what this nation hated so much about Ronald Reagan's predecessor: "A crisis of confidence... in our nation... malaise..."

Trump is pulling another Reagan act. The press absolutely hated Reagan - until they saw how popular he was. The same thing is starting to happen now with DJT.

Get used to it. He's going to be re-elected.

#38 Spain reported in for today:

cases up by over 5500 to over 47.5k
deaths up by over 440 to over 3.4k

over 3000 people in ICU

horrible

but the increases were not as great as yesterday's and there was a jump in recoveries (to 1.6k);

which may mean an inflection or it might mean that the counting infrastructure is getting less accurate or just a phenomenon of the way the reporting gets done

#43 I was talking to a woman here today on the phone. She has Sjogren's disease, a autoimmune disorder, and she takes hydroxychloroquine for Sjogrens. It is also used for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

The point is, that there ought to be a good supply of this medicine in the U.S. Saw where a doctor in Kansas (Kansas State University) is using coronavirus.

#44 #43 JQC there is a logical fault in your argument. They have enough, assuming steady supply flow, for people who needed it until now. There is something of an ethical conundrum about taking it from people like your correspondent and giving it to corona-patients. Don't you agree? So, you need to assure an increased supply.

#46 She blames Trump fo opening his mouth. She hates him.

Perhaps she should hate the CCP? If it was a vaccine she needed, but also hundreds of thousands others needed it, would it be Orange Man Bad as well? Pretty self-serving when you get down to it?

#47 There is, apparently, a current shortage of both of the quinine based drugs(worse shortage of the hydroxychloroquine in the USA.

This despite the big donation by Bayer. Other companies e.g., Mylan, Sandoz, Watson, Teva) have started to ramp up production. I don't have a handle on delivery schedule.

One of the problems is that it takes many dosages to complete the therapy. So, say, 1 million pills would only treat, say, 80,000 patients who have the disease. In addition, the experimental treatment requires other drugs which may be in short supply.

Another issue is that the dosage needed for prophylactic benefit is unknown and you need to give the pills to the front line health care people to avoid them contracting the disease (many health care workers have gotten the disease, some have died).

#48 Also, over 360k tests have now been done in the USA for the virus; about 100k beginning Sunday last.

Not sure the expected false Pos and false Neg. Also some people have had to be tested multiple times so the number of people tested will be fewer than 360k.
