#2 China is not the Russia of the 90s.

They will plow through this 'save your culture the Reds are coming!' bullshit even if it is weaponized against them. It does not abide by asshole conventions made to benefit terrorists and criminals. The only reason the west loses these high risk conflicts is because they're afraid of collateral and civ opprobrium back home. The Hans won't give a shit.

It may come down to NATO having to choose to defend AQ, Talibaners,ISIS, and assorted sasquatches against them. I can fully expect such a decision to go through but it will be opposed by the taxpayers back home I'll bet.

#5 Chinese Turkoman Muslims were enrolled in Al Qaeda and its offshoots (Afghanistan, Kashmir)as early as 1988. There has been minimal reporting from Khotan and Hashgar in Xinjiang, and one is left to wonder if the Islamists are going to take the elimination of their Muslim brothers without a response.

#6 The Islamofacists are all about going after soft targets.

The Middle Kingdom is not one of those. They may be at first, but the term 'going mongol' stills has a ring to it and holds a place in their response scenario.

Especially within their own borders where the narrative can be controlled.
