#1 ...In fairness, it should be pointed out that the Iranian bomb program goes back to the mid -70s and the Shah, who quite flatly didn't trust the US to defend him against a Soviet invasion, and wanted to be sure he had the means to make the Soviets wish they'd never tried. Either way though, the Mullahs aren't giving up their bomb unless somebody wipes out the project.
