#2 So my prediction is simple. Iran will go after the UAE in open warfare. Saudi will not fight and we will have to help defend them. This will be the distraction Putin needs to invade and we will be so focused on helping the UAE that the Ukraine falls.

#3 NATO is finished. In the early-mid 1990s, after NATO's reason for existence vanished, the saying was, "NATO must go out of area -- or go out of business." Hence NATO's involvement in the disastrous Afghan War.

Now that war is behind us, and NATO is incapable of responding in a coherent way in its own area. Germany and Turkey are closer to Russia than to us. What is the justification for preserving NATO now?

If we could reach a security agreement with Russia, we wouldn't be subject to Turkish blackmail. We could actually contain China. We might even bring an end to the Syrian mess and finally destroy ISIS.

But Hunter and The Big Guy would need to go back to selling daubings to fund their habits.

#4 With the best will in the world from our side, I don’t see Russia ever viewing America as anything other than a rival or a patsy. At the moment they’re playing us as a patsy.

But yes, NATO needs to be finished. How much longer the EU continues is a separate question.
