#2 Don't people realise the payments weren't free - they were a loan against your child tax credits.

They are just loaning you your own money!

Ole Andy might be surprised when taxes come due and he finds he won't get that tax credit - or may need to pay some back.

#8 Sob story, indeed. The money was intended to keep roofs over heads and food on tables for the desperate suddenly unemployed, not extras for those with a steady retirement income. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts should have been saving the payments against future shoe needs instead of wasting it on acting school.

And yes about having to repay it at tax time.

#9 Acting lessons, braces, take-out sushi, chinese slavery-made shoes, ganing consoles and so on are as basic of needs as shelter and essential nutrition as far as lefties are concerned.
