#3 Woodrow is right. The problem is not a behavioral condition, it is the very civilization the muslim psyche belongs to.

Dr. Dean worked for more than a decade in prisons with violent offenders, sociopaths and pathological aggressive types before he started looking into terrorism. He was working with UK's Offender Management Services, under their home depts. I think they later diversified into containing extremism too. He now works with their PREVENT program. One of the more optimistic people, so his saying this means something.

The UK began their anti-radicalization effort immediately after 9/11 happened. Under PM Blair's watch they made great headway pun intended in research and analyses of the muslim extremist. The Home office was not concerned then about sensibilities, or criticizing islamic texts or calling for reform in how masjids and imaams operate. But successive administrations diluted the study, scope and efficacy of the approach. They turned to psychiatry and new age solutions, school programs and covert surveillance-based supervision of citizens. The new approach became, 'extremist radicalism is just brainwashing of innocent youth', it can therefore be 'reversed by proper mental care and counseling'.

Their experts visited our eggheads too in Benaras in 2015, to more accurately understand the Paki mindset - because most of their offenders were turning out to be Pakis. It was only because we had insisted and our lobbies had urged Britain to send their radicalism researchers. You'll agree that an exchange of ideas was surely needed with the country that had successfully handled millions of sasquatches and kept them in line for five decades. A Dr. Sameer Lalwani and Dr Balachandran even visted UK universities, and tried to convince the experts there of the truth, that jihadis are not mentally ill. That radicalization is not an add-on to an otherwise normal psyche. That there is no cure if there's no illness. They just wouldn't listen.
My own paper was laughed at in Vauxhall because my technique proposed to induce dysfunction into the muslim extremist brain to render him useless to the jihad. But never mind...
They won't acknowledge the islamic and predatory culture angle, because the truth is not consonant with western urbanity and deference to muslims. It is enough they are acknowledging that it cannot be cured by their psychiatry.

China has shown the way to the world. The Xinjiang province has recently been upgraded to the biggest manufacturing community in the world. Hundreds of thousands of hands stitching shoes, weaving and stamping and assembling stuff happily singing songs about Mao or whatever.

The world shall have to realize that civilization has paused. It has paused is the desert kingdoms, it has entered a time warp in the shitholes where islam exists. It has been crippled in otherwise healthy progressive societies which welcomed muslims into their midst and gave space to masjids and funny beards. Islam will resist your civilization, and it will resist your efforts to reform it's adherents. The one approach the west haven't tried yet is reforming islam itself. Hacking away at it's ungainly protuberances into your civilization by outlawing practice after practice, until all they have left is a faith.

The least we can do is acknowledge that these are two civilizations at war. Modern psychiatry is a sham that has failed its own civilization, how in hell is it going to help here ?

I've come to find (about 7 years ago) that a leftist's mind (such that it is) works in the same manner. That's why they a) it is futile to argue with them, b) they will never change their minds and c) they will never admit when they are wrong.

#11 They say you can't cure a pedophile, they will always have urges. I suspect the pull of radical Islam is even stranger because it had a culture behind it for ones lifetime and even has 1/2 of the enemy agreeing as well. If they truly are cured they'll understand the new explosive neck collars that keep them in certain jurisdictions.
