#2 This guy was "known" to the authorities, had been "investigated," (when, for what, they're not saying). I'd imagine he fit the profile of a crank who at least some people knew was going to come to no good end. But in the Peoples' Democratic Republic of Denver, none of the people he came for thought to take any sort of precautions. Or at least, if any of them did, we are not hearing about it.

Most big city police chiefs and lots of country sheriffs wear 4 stars on their lapels. They have Superintendents, Commandants and High Sheriffs. They pretty much make up their organizational charts any way they please, nomenclature included.
