Yair Lapid begs Brits not to vote for Jeremy Corbyn
[Jpost] Blue and White’s candidate for foreign minister in a prospective unity government, MK Yair Lapid, urged British voters on Monday to take into account Labour Party candidate Jeremy Corbyn’s antisemitism when they cast ballots in the December 12 election.

Lapid made his statement in an answer to a question from Darren Miller, a Conservative Party member of the Welsh parliament, at the annual conference of the Israel Allies Foundation, which brought together pro-Israel parliament members from around the world. Other Israeli politicians have spoken about the British election but not as bluntly.

The Michael Bloomberg Speech He Doesn't Want You To Hear
[BearingArms]
About 95 percent of murders are credited to young, male minorities, he claimed, adding that motives are usually associated with drugs or domestic disputes.

“One of the unintended consequences is people say, ‘Oh my God, you are arresting kids for marijuana. They’re all minorities,’” Bloomberg said. “Yes, that’s true. Why? Because we put all the cops in the minority neighborhoods. Yes, that’s true. Why do you do it? Because that’s where all the crime is.”

#2  police should seize guns from male minorities between ages 15 and 25

Minority or non-minority, why should 15 and 16 year olds have access to guns without immediate adult supervision (or with adult supervision of known gang members). Strange isn't it, that they have failed even on that one. It's almost like its an excuse to punish everyone.

Alan Dershowitz to Mark Levin: Democrats Are Using Soviet Tactics to Take Down Donald Trump
h/t Instapundit
[PJMedia] On the latest episode of "Life, Liberty & Levin" on Fox News Channel, law professor Alan Dershowitz completely destroyed the Democrats' impeachment case against President Donald Trump. "They're searching for a crime... There is no case for bribery," Dershowitz told Levin.

Host Mark Levin asked Dershowitz about the meaning of "bribery." It has, he said, specific meaning. "It doesn't mean everything. It just doesn't necessarily mean this. What does it mean?"

Well, Dershowitz explained, "There are four criteria... We know it when we see it." For example, "when you pay a government official corruptly to perform an illegal act or an act that is motivated by money. But it can't operate when you're the president of the United States and you're conditioning or withholding money in order to make sure that a country isn't corrupt, and you're asking them to investigate. That just doesn't fit any definition of bribery ‐ common law definition of bribery, statutory definition of bribery. However you define the constitutional word bribery, it just doesn't fit."

Schiff's ‘Whistleblower' Eric Ciaramella Held Mysterious Meeting in Obama's White House in September 2016 Likely Covering Ukraine and Soros Groups
[Gateway Pundit] Suspected Deep State ’Whistleblower’ and leaker Eric Ciaramella held a meeting in September of 2016 in Obama’s White House that based on guests involved, likely covered far-left donor George Soros and the Ukraine.

There are several peculiar aspects to a meeting chaired by much-reported "whistleblower" Eric Ciaramella on September 7, 2016 in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. All seven invitees signed in between 1:14-1:17 PM for a scheduled 1:30 PM start. Based on the attendee expertise, the meeting’s topic was likely Ukraine.

  • The meeting appears to have involved at least three employees of the National Security Agency, the intelligence organization responsible for gathering and analyzing electronic surveillance. This meeting occurred over a month before the first FBI-initiated, Trump-Russia collusion hoax FISA warrant was issued.

  • The presence of one attendee, the Executive Director of a Soros-funded entity, raises suspicions as to the intended courses of action arising from the meeting, given Eric Ciaramella’s previous meetings with Soros-connected individuals.

  • It appears that three attendees may have signed-in under names other than their own. The names seem to be altered in roughly the same fashion, in such a way suggesting a deliberate intent to deceive. Based on the type of alteration, it gives the impression that the individuals were either instructed to do so or the logs were changed. As yet, none of those, whose names appear to be altered, have responded to a request for verification.

Criminal or unethical intent of the meeting invitees is in no way assumed or implied, but investigating Ciaramella’s perhaps operational activities while a member of the otherwise think tank-like National Security Council is worthwhile.

According to White House visitor logs, the names of those at Ciaramella’s meeting are listed as: Michael D. Jarvis, Natalia O. Lassowsky, Bailey S. Holladay, Stefanie L. Stagg, Thomas W. Pucci, Donald M. Camp and Jessica M. Gray.

Based on available public information, the professional roles of the attendees have been analyzed.

Michael D. Jarvis became Executive Director of the Soros-funded Transparency and Accountability Initiative in June 2016. He was previously with the World Bank Group working on corporate responsibility issues, anti-corruption, private sector roles in development, and multi-stakeholder governance. Jarvis is a specialist in the oil, gas and mining sectors. George Soros is said to have "extensive business interests in Ukraine," a country with large oil and gas industries.

    India-Pakistan
Modi Faces Criticism for Excluding Muslims From Sanctuary Offer
[Telegraph] Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is facing renewed criticism after tabling legislation today (MONDAY) which will exclude Muslims from an offer of citizenship rights to religious refugees.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill will see nationality defined by religion for the first time in India's history but only to followers of six faiths ‐ including Christians, Sikhs and Hindus ‐ from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

It will allow them to acquire Indian citizenship if they live or work in the country for six years and are fleeing religious persecution. However, critics argue it is the latest move to discriminate against Muslims.

Contrary to the common understanding that the Indian Left is led by one Indian-Italian family, it's actually several hundred small outfits across every possible shade of red that makes up the Left here. Most muslims are communists in India, and most radical-Leftists are erstwhile 'lower-castes', our wakandans - looking for reparation, revenge, revolution. These are known to cooperate and coordinate against the nationalist Right, attack authority in every form and try to create instability wherever they can access the ability to do so.

There's every sort. From purely mercenary media houses partnering with American outfits like Bloomberg and NYT, to sasquatch bomb makers with ideas of righteous revolution against 'the haves'. Plus everything in between, like academics, actors and journos who fawn on your Kamalas and Jayapals. These protesters and naysayers are part of this amalgam of anti-nationals. The eastern and southern states in India are still un-cracked bastions of these anti-nationals, but we're getting there.

One important measure is to check the entry of more anti-nationals into the country. Thankfully our federal structure allows the Union to pass overriding law on the entry of aliens which State administrations cannot break or they'll be dissolved.
"[The Bill is] couched in the language of refuge and seemingly directed at foreigners but its main purpose is the de-legitimisation of Muslim citizenship," said historian Mukul Kesavan.

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Assam, Gujarat and West Bengal today in protest.

"We will fight and oppose the bill till the last drop of our blood," vowed All Assam Students' Union adviser Samujjal Bhattacharya.
    And blood ye will get.
A group of 1,000 academics released a statement arguing the Bill undermines the pluralistic and secular history of India.

Home Minister Amit Shah dismissed their concerns and said the proposed legislation is backed by India's 1.3 billion population.

The BJP first proposed the Bill as an electoral promise in 2014 but it was abandoned in 2016 after protests.

This time, MPs in the lower house of parliament voted unanimously in favour of passing the Bill ‐ 293 to 82 ‐ and it will now be voted on in the upper house.

The date for this has not yet been disclosed but it needs approval from both houses for it to become law.

Since his landslide re-election in May, Modi and the BJP have faced repeated claims of anti-Muslim discrimination.

In August, he revoked Muslim-majority Jammu & Kashmir's autonomous status and the region remains under curfew and an internet blackout.

Later that month he announced 1.9 million people in Assam will face detainment and deportation to Bangladesh.

While Modi claimed it was part of a wider crackdown on illegal immigrants, campaigners say it is an attempt to render Indian Muslims stateless.

#3  As I recall, Pakistan was established to the homeland of the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent. Nowadays that means both Pakistan and Bangladesh, while refugees from Afghanistan are returning home from both Pakistan and Iran, both willingly and un. Seems fair that refugees from there should to there be returned. Though the Ahmadis and Hazeras might make an argument, giving their general reception back home.

13 things to look for in the DOJ OIG FISA abuse report (plus a link to the document in the comments)
[Federalist] Today, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz will reportedly issue his findings on the U.S. Department of Justice and FBI’s compliance (or lack thereof) with the legal requirements and internal policies and procedures related to the Carter Page Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) applications.

Horowitz’s report follows a 20-month investigation into possible FISA abuse, as well as an inquiry into the DOJ and FBI’s relationship and communications with dossier author Christopher Steele, triggered by requests from then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions and members of Congress.

We further found that while Strzok was directly involved in the decisions to open Crossfire Hurricane and the four individual cases, he was not the sole, or even the highest level, decision maker as to any of those matters.

We also concluded that, under the AG guidelines and the DIOG, the FBI had an authorized purpose when it opened Crossfire Hurricane to obtain information about, or protect against, a national security threat or federal crime, even though the investigation also had the potential to impact constitutionally protected activity.

    #9  However -

We are deeply concerned that so many basic and fundamental errors were made by three separate, hand-picked investigative teams; on one of the most sensitive FBI investigations; after the matter had been briefed to the highest levels within the FBI; even though the information sought through use of FISA authority related so closely to an ongoing presidential campaign; and even though those involved with the investigation knew that their actions were likely to be subjected to close scrutiny.
    Posted by: Bobby || 12/09/2019 14:35 Comments || Top||

#10  The rest of page 414 is also interesting -

We believe this circumstance reflects a failure not just by those who prepared the FISA applications, but also by the managers and supervisors in the Crossfire Hurricane chain of command, including FBI senior officials who were briefed as the investigation progressed. We do not expect managers and supervisors to know every fact about an investigation, or senior leaders to know all the details of cases about which they are briefed. However, especially in the FBl's most sensitive and high-priority matters, and especially when seeking court permission to use an intrusive tool such as a FISA order, it is incumbent upon the entire chain of command, including senior officials, to take the necessary steps to ensure that they are sufficiently familiar with the facts and circumstances supporting and potentially undermining a FISA application in order to provide effective oversight consistent with their level of supervisory responsibility. Such oversight requires greater familiarity with the facts than we saw in this review, where time and again during OIG interviews FBI managers, supervisors, and senior officials displayed a lack of understanding or awareness of important information concerning many of the problems we identified.

In the preparation of the FISA applications to surveil Carter Page, the Crossfire Hurricane team failed to comply with FBI policies, and in so doing fell short of what is rightfully expected from a premier law enforcement agency entrusted with such an intrusive surveillance tool. In light of the significant concerns identified with the Carter Page FISA applications and the other issues described in this report, the OIG today initiated an audit that will further examine the FBI's compliance with the Woods Procedures in FISA applications that target U.S. persons in both counterintelligence and counterterrorism investigations. We also make the following recommendations to assist the Department and the FBI in avoiding similar failures in future investigations.

Somebody should lose their job over this.

Oh, wait - several already have.

‘Treason': House Judiciary Committee Report Implicates Trump in Ultimate Crime
    Talk about projection
[Breitbart] The House Judiciary Committee report released Saturday on the legal and constitutional framework for impeaching President Donald Trump includes a discussion of the most serious crime listed in the Constitution: treason.

Citing the constitutional provision that impeachment applies to "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors," the report hints throughout that President Trump might have committed treason against the United States.

The Constitution specifically defines treason in Article III, Section 3: "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

The House Judiciary Committee report, however, expands that definition to include what it calls "betrayal," and declares: "Although the Framers did not intend impeachment for good faith disagreements on matters of diplomacy, they were explicit that betrayal of the Nation through schemes with foreign powers justified that remedy."

The phrase "schemes with foreign powers" is sufficiently vague to include the "quid pro quo" plan that Democrats allege the president attempted to make with Ukraine, trading U.S. aid for investigation into a political opponent.

(No direct evidence exists to prove that claim, and the only direct witnesses testified before the House Intelligence Committee that the president did not want that "quid pro quo.")

Later, the report again implicates President Trump in "treason" by creating an expansive definition that just happens to reflect Democrats’ argument that Trump endangered national security by suspending security assistance to a U.S. ally.

The report expands the definition of "treason" as follows:

At the very heart of "Treason" is deliberate betrayal of the nation and its security. Such betrayal would not only be unforgivable, but would also confirm that the President remains a threat if allowed to remain in office. A President who has knowingly betrayed national security is a President who will do so again. He endangers our lives and those of our allies.

The suggestion of "treason" also parallels an argument Democrats continue to make about Trump and Russia.

House Democrats have consistently implied that the president’s dealings with Ukraine reflect, at core, an effort to help Russia ‐ even though he has given Ukraine lethal defensive weapons to fight Russia, unlike his predecessor.

As Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told CNN on Thursday night, after calling for articles of impeachment to be drafted: "In my view, Ukraine is very ‐ all about Russia because withholding or granting military assistance to Ukraine was all to the benefit of Russia to hold up that aid."

Despite Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s conclusion, after two years of investigation, that there was no collusion between Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russia, Democrats continue to believe he is conspiring with what they now consider a U.S. enemy. (Under President Barack Obama, they supported the "reset" policy, appeasing Russia’s geopolitical ambitions.)

The House Judiciary Committee’s report, written by the committee’s 20 Democratic staff members, does not rule out charging Trump with treason at any point in the text, and seems to have been written to make doing so a possibility.
No evidence and just speculation. They and the press aren't even hiding it anymore. Just flat out lies and smears. When the boogaloo kicks off, remember these people and show them no mercy.

I trust completely that you less optimistic types will figure things out and fix them before it occurs to me to notice, Lex dear. Or that it won’t be nearly as dire as you can imagine, because while many people happily talk shit, most won’t bestir themselves to make it happen, even the few who actually have the skills. And of those who do have the skills, the most deadly are generally quiet about it when among civilians, but y’all recognize each other, I believe — and while some of the more radical on the left have indeed been getting shooting and other training, there is a huge difference between being a trained terrorist on one hand and trained soldiers fighting a war with unbound hands on the other hand. The trained soldiers are at least 3:1 on our side, based on historic voting records, and probably even more so among those who chose to serve at the tip of the spear, contra that smarmy little Communist idiot who graduated from West Point a few years ago, then disappeared from sight.

I think the leaders know it's not going to make it through the Senate. If their goal is to cripple Trump's administration with accusations and legal maneuvering, bringing things to trial isn't that important--just so they can keep their voters satisfied that they are fighting the good fight.

More Bullshit. 'Insensitive' Pornstache Comment By Trainers Triggered Saudi Terrorist
[Independent UK] The Saudi air force trainee who killed three sailors at a US Navy base last week reportedly made an official complaint about being called "pornstache" by one of his instructors.

Mohammed Alshamrani said he was left "infuriated" earlier this year when an instructor referred to him using the mocking nickname, according to the New York Times.

The complaint has emerged as part of an investigation by the FBI into the shooting, which is being treated as a presumed terrorist attack.
I can see where this is going already.
"I was infuriated as to why he would say that in front of the class," Alshamrani said, according to a summary of his complaint.

Although the complaint said the derogatory nickname was "Porn Stash", he appeared to mean "pornstache", referring to a style of thick moustache associated with porn actors.

The instructor then apparently turned to Alshamrani and addressed him by the nickname.

"Laughing, he continued to ask, "What? Have you not seen a porn star before?" Alshamrani wrote in the complaint, according to the Times.

"After I did not respond, he just let go of the subject."

Managers for CAE USA, which provides training to civil and military aviation students, offered to have the instructor apologise but the Saudi trainee turned that offer down, according to the Times.
"No thank you, I think I'll just kill him."
However, the incident was reportedly serious enough that two American students helped Alshamrani file his complaint.

US media has reported that the Saudi gunman played mass shooting videos to others at a dinner days before the attack, according to an anonymous source briefed on the investigation.

A Twitter account which appears to match Alshamrani's identity has also been flagged after anti-US posts were discovered on it.

In one post, which quoted Osama Bin Laden, the user accused the US of "committing crimes not only against Muslims but also humanity."

FBI officials have conducted interviews with people who may have had contact with Alshamrani in an attempt to establish a motive for the gunman, who is thought to have acted alone.

Alshamrani began training with the US military in August 2017 and was scheduled to complete his training in August 2020, according to the Pentagon.

OPEC and Partners Agree to 500,000 Barrel Per Day Production Cut
[AnNahar] The OPEC group of oil producing countries and their allies -- including Russia -- agreed on Friday to a production cut of 500,000 barrels per day in addition to their current agreement.

Ministers gathered at OPEC headquarters in Vienna "decided for an additional adjustment of 500 (thousand barrels per day)", effective as of 1 January 2020, according to a statement issued after the meeting.

This would bring production 1.7 million barrels per day below October 2018 levels.

    However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
the group said that "in addition, several participating countries, mainly Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, will continue their additional voluntary contributions," meaning the overall production cut would be 2.1 million barrels per day.

The statement said that OPEC and its partners in the so-called OPEC+ grouping would convene for a special meeting on 6 March.

OPEC members had been aiming for a cut in order to stem pressure on prices from abundant reserves and weak global economic growth.

Oil prices surged following the announcement, with U.S. benchmark WTI and its Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an counterpart Brent both nearly two percent higher shortly after 1500 GMT.

Long before Christopher Steele, there was this William Stephenson fellow
[Lew Rockwell.com] Seventy-eight years ago, on December 6, 1941, the United States was at peace with world. The next morning, local time, the Empire of Japan bombed the U.S. Navy base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Four days later, Nazi Germany issued a declaration of war against the United States. The American people were now unalterably involved in a global conflict that would take the lives of over 400,000 of their native sons.

But before Japan opened this door to war, the United States had been the target of an elaborate, covert influence campaign meant to push public opinion, by hook or by crook, into supporting intervention on the side of the British. Conducted by the United Kingdom’s MI6 intelligence service, it involved sometimes witting (and often unwitting) collaboration with the highest echelons of the U.S. government and media establishment.

In the early summer of 1940, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill dispatched intelligence agent William Stephenson to North America to establish the innocuous-sounding British Security Coordination (BSC). The Canadian-born Stephenson was a World War I flying ace and wealthy industrialist who had been a close Churchill confidant for several years. Adopting the codename "Intrepid" during his operations, spymaster Stephenson served as the main inspiration for James Bond (whose creator, Ian Fleming, worked with the BSC).

Fox and Friends host Pete Hegseth is 'BANNED from Twitter' after sharing anti-American 'manifesto' of Pensacola shooter Mohammed Alshamrani
[MAIL] Fox and Friends host Pete Hegseth said he was banned from Twitter Saturday after he shared an anti-American manifesto said to have been written by Pensacola shooter Mohammed Alshamrani.
My Humes & Berg trombone mute. I never leave home without it.
The TV journalist, 39, posted screenshots Sunday which showed his tweet, calling the actions of the gunman 'Islamist terror', was 'no longer available'. He followed up with a picture of his appeal regarding the decision.

Saudi military student Alshamrani, 21, killed three people and injured 12 when he opened fire at Navy Station Pensacola on Friday.

Hegseth shared a grab from the shooter's Twitter account Saturday, writing: 'Here's the (now blocked) tweet from Saudi Islamist Mohammed Alshamrani, who murder 3 brave Americans in Florida.
Would it be possible to see the shooter's entire Twitter account, and possibly cellie feeds? I thought not. Thanks anyway.
'The coward posted it just hours before his terrorist attack. This is Islamist terror. No reason to ever mince words. Saudi Arabia must be held to account.'

Alshamrani's social media, which was taken down subsequent to the attack, appeared to show a variety of anti-Israel postings and a quote from deceased al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Gardener In Background Of Kaepernick Video Receives Call From Washington Redskins
[Babylon Bee] U.S.‐A gardener visible in several shots of Colin Kaepernick's workout video has been signed as a lineman by the Washington Redskins.

After noticing the man's speed, raw strength, and dedication, the Redskins signed the gardener as an offensive lineman.

The man received several calls from NFL teams but settled with the Redskins as he liked their shrubberies and they promised he'd still be allowed to mow the lawns.

"Well, I'm a simple man who likes mowin' lawns, trimmin' hedges, and a cold beer after work," the man, identified as 45-year-old Bud Stanley, told reporters. "I hope I'm an asset to the organization. They're bumping me up to a better mower model, too, one of them ride-on deals. Yeah, I'm lookin' forward to the games too, I suppose. I just pretend the other team's linemen are particularly tough tree roots and push right through."

    Stanley's being called a prodigy.

There was also another man in the foreground of the workout video, but the Redskins had him digitally removed so they could get a better look at Stanley.

Joe Biden says Hunter will not engage in foreign business if he wins 2020 race
[Washington Examiner] Joe Biden said that his family members, including Hunter Biden, would not engage in any foreign business if he wins the presidency in 2020.

That's not because Hunter did anything wrong as a board member of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, the former vice president said, but due to questionable business activities of President Trump's children.

"They will not be engaged in any foreign business because of what's happened in this administration," Biden said of Hunter Biden and brother James Biden, in an Axios on HBO interview that aired Sunday. "No one's going to be seeking patents for things from China. No one's going to be engaged in that kind of thing."

Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma while Joe Biden, 77, worked on Ukrainian policy while vice president. House Democrats launched impeachment proceedings against Trump after revelations of a phone call in which Trump asked the Ukrainian president to investigate the Bidens, which Democrats argue Trump did for personal political interests rather than legitimate policy reasons.

Judge Drops Six Charges In Kamala Harris' Case Against David Daleiden, Sends Nine To Criminal Trial
[The Federalist] A San Francisco Superior Court judge ruled Friday that nine of the state’s 15 felony charges against undercover journalists David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, in a prosecution initiated by then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris, have enough evidence to proceed to a criminal trial. The judge dropped the other six charges.

Dropping down to the bottom line:

After Friday’s ruling, Daleiden said Harris’ case continues to fall apart as facts about Planned Parenthood’s criminal organ trafficking are revealed in the courtroom.

Email records show Harris’ office corresponded with Planned Parenthood officials, orchestrating public responses, filing police reports, and even drafting legislation targeting Daleiden. Harris has received tens of thousands of dollars in political contributions from Planned Parenthood-affiliated entities.
    Emphasis added.

Former Ukraine Prosecutor Shokin: Joe Biden "Outraged We Seized Burisma Assets", Could No Longer Pay His Son…
[ConservativeTreehouse] Rudy Giuliani traveled to Ukraine with OAN investigative journalist Chanel Rion. The U.S. media are going absolutely bananas after finding out Giuliani is now gathering even more information about Joe and Hunter Biden’s corrupt endeavors within Ukraine.

In this interview former Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin spoke to OAN about Joe Biden’s direct role in getting his office to stop investigating his son Hunter. The problem for Joe Biden was when Shokin seized all of Burisma’s assets the Ukranian gas company could no longer pay his son Hunter Biden. So the vice president demanded Shokin be removed.

When you combine this interview with the damning public statements delivered by the Ukraine prosecutor that replaced Shokin, Yuriy Lutsenko, things really get troublesome for Joe Biden, the Obama administration and Adam Schiff.

Prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko stated that after he replaced Shokin he was visited by U.S. State Dept. official George Kent and Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch; they provided a list of corruption cases the Ukraine government was not permitted to follow.

Prosecutor Lutsenko dropping specific corruption cases was critical because that allowed/enabled a process of laundering money back to U.S. officials.

The potential for this background story to become part of a larger impeachment discovery is what has the U.S. media going bananas against Rudy Giuliani.

Senator Lindsey Graham is directly connected to the group of U.S. politicians who were participating in the influence network within Ukraine. One of the downstream consequences of Rudy Giuliani investigating the Ukraine corruption and money laundering operation to U.S. officials is that it ends up catching Senator Graham.

Hence, earlier today Senator Graham said he would not permit Senate impeachment testimony that touched on this corrupt Ukraine aspect.

In essence Senator Graham is fearful that too much inquiry into what took place with Ukraine from 2014 through 2016 will expose his own participation and effort along with former Ambassador Marie Yovanovich.

A Safe Space Society Is A Totalitarian Nightmare
[Townhall] - As the undisputed star of the new film No Safe Spaces ‐ the hit documentary on academia’s descent into Orwellian tyranny features a quick shot of a lawyer letter I wrote to some collegiate gulag apparatchiks ‐ I wholeheartedly recommend that you go see it. Adam Carolla and Dennis Prager take you on a guided tour of the insanity and evil that has gripped academia, and it’s utterly terrifying. You need to see it not merely to gape at the freak show but to learn what’s coming for society as a whole. The dreary conformity factories that pretend to be providing our next generation of leaders with a higher education have instead embarked on a campaign of indoctrination designed to manufacture a generation of goose-stepping creeps who use their bizarre collection of buzzwords and fetishes as weapons to suppress any kind of dissent.

And the problem is that this PC Nazism is not just limited to academia. Eventually, these daddy-issue cadres are going to get out into the world and contaminate all of our institutions even worse than they are contaminated now. We’ve seen weeks of pretentious ruling caste losers presuming to lecture us on how we should fix the messes they and their pals made. Imagine if they compounded their failure with the desire to burn you at the stake for refusing to concede that a dude can get pregnant.

A dude can’t get pregnant, not ever. And there’s a whole generation of future elitists who would want to cancel you permanently for daring to state this indisputable fact.

The key to understanding what is happening on campuses, and increasingly in society as a whole, is to discard your bourgeois notions of reason and the presumption of good faith. What’s kind of funny is to watch people shake their heads at the incoherence of the leftist lies ‐ what these people say is manifestly false and usually both contradictory and hypocritical. They have no evidence to support their claims, and they ignore contrary evidence. This freaks out the squares because normal people approach disputes with the understanding that facts and evidence and arguments can change one’s positions. But with these people, that doesn’t happen. It can’t happen, because they are not engaged in argument. Rather, they simply assert whatever nonsense they believe will increase their own power.

That’s all it is. This PC leftist garbage is simply about power.

You can’t prove your innocence or change their minds because actual facts are beside the point. The point is to generate a narrative that results in you being deprived of the moral capacity to assert your own rights and interests. You are disenfranchised, totally, by the moral failure that is your race or your sex or your religion or your sexual preference or whatever has been designated as bad this week. That is why we get evil concepts like "white privilege," "mansplaining" and "heteronormativity" tossed around as if they are conceptual trump cards that instantly silence you merely by being asserted.

...The left is not against prejudice or bigotry. It is actively in favor of both. It’s just that the targets change and morph based on necessity. Go on social media, if you dare, and find a black conservative or a gay conservative or a conservative woman and see what crap they take from the loving left. The crude hatred would shock and appall even the Democrats who invented and filled the ranks of the KKK. The left is supposed to be in favor of black people and gay people and women people and it takes only a few seconds to realize that this is utterly false. They don’t care about bigotry or prejudice. They care about leftist power, and if bigotry and prejudice help them get more of it then the left is all in.

...Today on campus, these creeps have power because the administrators tend to be cowed by the left when not in active cahoots with it. They left can even LARP violent revolution because the schools hold back the cops who ought to be beating down and hooking up these black-masked punks. The scary thing is that someday, some of these quad gestapo types are going to be in real positions of power in real society, and they do not believe in rules and they do not believe in rights for anyone who opposes them. Their sole goal is their own power. And to increase their power, they need to take power from someone else. You are the someone else.

In a society they control, you will have no rights, no voice, and no future. Leftism always ends in tyranny and murder, which is why we’re blessed to have the Second Amendment. And if you are ever disarmed and at the mercy of these aspiring monsters, the only safe space will be a mass grave.

Anthony Hopkins on Why He Doesn't Talk About Politics: 'Actors Are Pretty Stupid'
    h/t Instapundit
[PJMedia] In a conversation with fellow actor Brad Pitt for a lengthy chat for Interview magazine, Anthony Hopkins explained why he seldom -- actually: never -- talks about politics... and why he's not a big fan of other actors talking about politics either. In short: "Actors are pretty stupid."

"People ask me questions about present situations in life, and I say, ’I don’t know, I’m just an actor,'" Hopkins told Pitt. " I don’t have any opinions. Actors are pretty stupid. My opinion is not worth anything. There’s no controversy for me, so don’t engage me in it, because I’m not going to participate."

Hopkins was interviewed by Pitt because of the release of his new Netflix movie, The Two Popes, in which he plays the part of Pope Benedict XVI. Although Pitt apparently tried to get some controversial political (or religious) answers out of him, Hopkins refused to play that game.

It is extremely refreshing to see an actor take this position. Sadly, the new generation of Hollywood stars has a different opinion. Take Mark Ruffalo, the millionaire actor who recently endorsed Bernie Sanders. This multi-millionaire (who's reportedly worth $30 million) wrote on Twitter that "it’s time for an economic revolution. Capitalism today is failing us, killing us, and robbing from our children’s future."

Shitshow, Hollywood version, entails mediocre talents making ridiculously stupid CGI cartoons to be consumed by the world's morons and children, to be further monetized via license agreements with makers of dolls, backpacks, t-shirts, breakfast cereals, vanity rugs, shower curtains, facial jewelry, sex toys.

This creates the profits which enable the "talent" that otherwise would be appearing in local repertory versions of Broadway hits from the 1970s and 1980s ("Cats," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat") to amass 8-figure fortunes and opine on issues of wealth creation and distribution, monetary policy, the proper role of the state etc.

Harvard To Pay $50 Million Tax Due To Trump Tax Reform
    h/t Instapundit
[TaxProf] Harvard University expects to pay $49.8 million in federal taxes as a result of the tax reform package passed in 2017.

Most of the tax bill, $37.7 million, comes from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act’s new tax on net investment income -- the so-called endowment tax. The other $12.1 million is from a net investment income tax on operational revenues, unrelated business taxable income and excise taxes on executive compensation.

The nearly $50 million tax bill is still an estimate, Harvard said in its annual financial report for the fiscal year ending in June 2019, which the university released Thursday. The federal government hasn’t issued final guidance that would allow the exact amount of tax to be calculated, but accounting principles require Harvard to book expenses in the year they were incurred. ...

Despite the new tax bill, Harvard’s net operating surplus rose almost 52 percent to $297.9 million in 2019. Total operating revenue rose nearly 6 percent to $5.5 billion as total student revenue rose 7 percent to $1.2 billion.

[Jpost] Sudan has 5,000 troops operating in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, down from a peak of 15,000, Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok said on Sunday, adding that he believed no military solution was possible.

Briefing journalists on his return from Washington, Hamdok said there had been no discussions during his visit about withdrawing the troops.

"Regarding Yemen we said that there is no military solution and there must be a political solution," Hamdok told news hounds at Khartoum airport.

Sudanese troops have been deployed as part of a Saudi-led alliance that intervened in Yemen in 2015 against the Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
    movement that controls the capital.

The conflict is seen in the region as a proxy war between Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...

Thousands of overstays work in assisted living, in landscaping and lawn care, in hospitality, in auto repair. Although the companies that hire them could probably survive if they were not employed it would be a big adjustment (wages would go up, prices would go up)

Iran says new budget, Russia loan will ‘stop US, Israel’ from weakening Tehran
    See? Easy-peasy.
[IsraelTimes] Rouhani tells parliament the ’resistance budget’ will beat American embargoes; says $5 billion loan from Moscow being finalized.

Iran’s president said on Sunday his country will depend less on oil revenue next year, in a new state "budget of resistance" that is designed to resist crippling US trade embargoes.

    Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
is in the grips of an economic crisis. In May 2018, the US began re-imposing sanctions that block Iran from selling its crude oil abroad, following US President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
’s decision to withdraw from Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers over its continued development of ballistic missile programs and support for terror groups in the region. That accord had given Iran sanctions relief in return for limits on its nuclear program.

"Next year, similar to the current year, our budget is a budget of resistance and perseverance against sanctions. This budget sends a message to the world that despite sanctions we will manage the country, especially in terms of oil," Iranian President Hassan Rouhani
...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man...
told the opening session of Parliament.

The budget will counter "maximum pressure and sanctions" by the US, he said.

Rouhani added that the Iranian government will also benefit from a $5 billion loan from Russia that’s being finalized.

He said the US and Israel will remain "without hope" despite their goal of weakening Iran through sanctions.

The next Iranian fiscal year begins March 20, with the advent of the Persian New Year. The budget is set to be about $40 billion, some 20% higher than in 2019. The increase comes as the country is suffering from a 40% inflation rate.
    so, a 20% cut
Rouhani also announced in the speech a 15% increase for public sector wages as a stopgap to offset the effects of inflation.

The International Monetary Fund has forecast that Iran’s economy will contract by 9.5% this year.

Iran’s economic woes led to fuel price hikes in mid-November that helped trigger nationwide protests last month. Iranian security forces violently suppressed the protests, killing over 200 people, according to Amnesia Amnesty International.

Body of slain doctor returns to Japan from Afghanistan
[DAWN] The body of a Japanese doctor killed in a roadside shooting in Afghanistan arrived back home on Sunday, with government officials on hand to lead a brief ceremony of mourning at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.

Tetsu Nakamura was killed last week, along with five Afghans who had been traveling with him.

Keisuke Suzuki, Japan’s state minister of foreign affairs, joined other officials in bowing their heads in prayer after laying flowers by the coffin, draped in white, in a solemn ceremony in honor of Nakamura at the airport.

Nakamura’s wife and daughter, who had flown to Afghanistan to bring the doctor’s body back, also took part in the ceremony.

Nakamura, 73, had worked in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province for over a decade, leading irrigation projects in rural areas. An outpouring of sadness have followed his killing, both in Afghanistan and in Japan.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, who awarded Nakamura honorary Afghan citizenship in April, was among those who carried Nakamura’s coffin, covered in the Afghan flag, in a departure ceremony Saturday at Kabul’s airport.

The gunmen who killed Nakamura and the others bravely fled the scene. Police say they are still looking for those behind the attack. The Taliban have denied any connection to the slaying.

Solidarity and anger expressed at ‘Together Against Antisemitism’ rally
[Jpost] The threat to the UK Jewish community will not end following the election, according to a representative of Sussex Friends of Israel.

“If Corbyn gets beaten, who will be blamed? The Jews,” Simon Cobbs of SFI told The Jerusalem Post. “It’s a lose-lose situation for us. If Corbyn gets in, we have an antisemitic Labour government, and if he doesn’t, the Jews will be blamed for it.”

Cobbs spoke as thousands gathered at Parliament Square in London on Sunday for the Together Against Antisemitism rally.

“All we can do is go out and say that we as a community are scared,” said Cobbs. “For me personally, even though it’s a two-and-a-half-hour drive to get there, it’s incredibly important – it’s the last chance before the election to show how angry we are.”

Organized by the Campaign Against Antisemitism, the rally took place four days before the UK general election on Thursday. However, the organization made it clear this was an apolitical rally, “so that Jews and non-Jews alike can say clearly and with one voice that we stand together against antisemitism.”

Palestinian convert to Judaism freed from Hevron jail
[Jpost] A Paleostinian man who converted to Judaism has been released from jail where he was being held by the Paleostinian authorities and beaten by fellow prisoners.

Upon his release, David Ben Avraham, formerly Sameh Zeitoun, was taken to United Hatzalah of Israel’s headquarters in Jerusalem for a medical checkup before being transferred to Shaare Tzedek hospital in Jerusalem.

Ben Avraham spent 58 days in jail before finally being released, apparently thanks to Israeli officials working quietly behind the scenes. He had been arrested in October by gunnies, while visiting his son in the West Bank.

"They handcuffed me and took me to jail. I took a lot of beatings there," he told Ynet news on Friday. "The guards told everyone I had converted and I was Jewish. Prisoners would gang up on me, choke me and beat me badly."

The meagre food he was given "wouldn’t satisfy a mouse," he added. "I was denied water. I fainted three times and they took me to a hospital."

He was later held in solitary confinement, he said, where holy mans tried to persuade him to return to Islam. "I refused outright," he said. "I decided to become a part of the Jewish people and I have no intention of going back."

Haim Perg, one of the leaders of the Jewish community in Hevron who worked to ensure Ben Avraham’s release and who accompanies him, said, "After severe torture that he underwent and in a well-orchestrated operation, we rescued David Samah Zaytun from prison and the hands of Abu Mazen and the evil clutches of the secret police, from prison, and from the house arrest to which he was thrown after he was kidnapped near the Karmei Tzur Junction on Erev Yom Kippur."

Ben Avraham converted to Judaism through the Bnei Brak Rabbinical Court of Rabbi Nissim Karelitz, who died in October. The authorities view rare cases of Paleostinian conversion with caution; the government's Conversion Authority regularly rejects Paleostinian applicants without review. Some of those, like Ben Avraham, turn to private institutions instead.

Rapper Juice WRLD aka Jarad Antnie Higgins Tango Uniform at Midway Airport
[Breitbart] Hip-hop star Juice WRLD has died after suffering a seizure at Midway airport in Chicago early Sunday morning, TMZ reports.

The 21-year-old rapper, real name Jarad Anthony Higgins, began to suffer from what official say was an unknown medical issue some time after midnight Sunday morning. Police and fire officials confirmed a 21-year-old male was transported from Midway to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Chicago police said he experienced a "medical emergency.″

Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said the transported man experienced cardiac arrest and was transported to a hospital from a Midway hanger away from the main terminal where private planes land.

Chicago police said they’re conducting a death investigation.

Farmer dies in elephant attack in Ctg
[Dhaka Tribune] A farmer was trampled to death by a wild elephant in the Lohagara upazila, Chittagong, around 8:30pm on Saturday.

The dear departed was identified as Nurul Islam, 38, son of Abdus Sobhan, confirmed Inspector Rashedul Islam of the Lohagara cop shoppe.

Abu Naser Md Yasin Newaz, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the Wildlife Management & Nature Conservation Division Chittagong said: "A herd of elephants stormed a paddy field in the area on Saturday night. An elephant trampled the farmer to death when locals and farmers tried to drive them away.

"During the dry season, elephants come to the locality in search of food and water. The incidents of elephant attacks particularly rise during the paddy harvesting season. Wild elephants behave violently if disturbed.

"People should not make any sudden movements in front of them. Any sort of such action may result in aggressive behavior from the elephants. The elephants will move away after damaging some crops. We will give proper compensation to the affected people for any damage done to the crop fields or any property. So, there is nothing to panic here," added the DFO.

Five people were reported dead from August to September this year in Boalkhali and Anwara upazilas.

Republicans mount ad blitz on impeachment, making some vulnerable Democrats nervous
[MSN] Republicans are dramatically outspending Democrats on impeachment-related ads on Facebook and television, illustrating how fully the GOP has embraced the issue as a political winner as public opinion remains split on the House effort to remove the president.

The ad blitz has worried some Democrats in swing districts who are being painted as do-nothing, pro-impeachment radicals. The Democrats have been urging party leaders for weeks to strike back with their own countermessage, to no avail.

Over the past month, GOP candidates have used anti-impeachment messages to try to recruit new supporters, and independent big-money groups boosting Republicans have launched roughly $10 million in ads aimed at Democrats in districts that President Trump won in 2016.

Some of those vulnerable Democrats, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk candidly about private conversations, said party leaders told them the cavalry is coming but shared no firm date.

The difference is especially stark on Facebook, where more than 100 congressional Republican incumbents and challengers and national pro-GOP groups ran anti-impeachment ads in the past month ‐ roughly three times the number of such ads run on the Democratic side, according to an analysis by The Washington Post.

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Strike targeted Iran-controlled warehouse on Saturday, killing 4-5
[IsraelTimes] Syrian opposition media outlet says unidentified aircraft targeted three munitions storehouses near Iraqi border.

Unidentified aircraft bombed three Iranian-controlled weapons depots on Saturday night, killing several members of Tehran-supported militias, Syrian media reported.

Some news outlets in the country said that four fighters were killed in the strike, while others said five. The Syrian government did not immediately release an official tally.
"Welp, here's another nose, that makes it....umm....five"
According to the Syrian Step News agency, the Arclight airstrike
    ...KABOOM!...
s occurred around 10 p.m. on Saturday, targeting three munitions storehouses in the Boulkamal region of Syria, near the Iraqi border, an area that has reportedly been hit by many Israeli raids in the past year.

The outlet cited "well-placed sources" as saying that the four people killed were guards at the storehouses who were members of militias backed by Iran.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said that at least five Lions of Islam were killed in the strike.

There were no immediate reports of who was responsible for the strikes, though defense analysts indicated that Israel was the likely actor.

The Israeli military as a rule does not comment on specific airstrikes in Syria, save for those that are in retaliation for attacks on Israel.

On Sunday, Defense Minister Naftali Bennett said Israel was taking action to force Iran’s military presence out of Syria.

"We are telling the Iranians: Syria will become your Vietnam," he said, referring to the disastrous American war.

"If you don’t leave, you will become entrenched and you will bleed because we will work without hesitation to remove aggressive forces from Syria," Bennett said.

The Saturday night strikes came days after reports of a similar raid in the same region.

Last Wednesday, unidentified aircraft bombed other Iranian-controlled weapons storehouses in Boulkamal, causing a massive explosion, according to Step News.

The outlet reported that the planes fired several missiles at warehouses belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps at the al-Hamdan airport, outside Deir Ezzor. Troops on the ground fired anti-aircraft weapons at the attacking planes, the news site said. There were no reports of casualties in that raid.

and its plans to establish a land corridor to the Mediterranean Sea in order to more easily transport materiel and fighters throughout the Middle East.
    The Jerusalem Post adds:
In September, Fox News reported that Iran was building a classified military base near Al-Bukamal, less than 200 miles from an American position, with the intention of housing thousands of troops.

According to the report, the classified Iranian project is called the Imam Ali compound and is being completed by the IRGC. At least five different, newly constructed buildings surrounded by large dirt mounds could house precision missiles, Fox said. The other 10 less fortified storehouses in the base will likely hold ammunition.

The attacks in the Al-Bukamal area have been blamed on both Israel and Saudi Arabia.

"Saudi fighter jets have been spotted along with other fighter jets that have attacked facilities and positions belonging to Iranian militias," said an unnamed source to the Independent in Arabic. The attacks targeted positions belonging to the Quds force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in Albukamal and other areas near the Iraq-Syria border. Saudi sources later denied the report, according to the Independent.

    Iraq
Two rockets land near Baghdad airport targeting US forces
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] At least two rockets landed near Baghdad International Airport in an attack targeting US forces, Al Arabiya’s correspondent reported.

The attack late on Sunday came just days after two Iraqi military sources said two mortar bombs landed inside the Balad air force base in Iraq.

Late on Friday, unidentified gunmen attacked a parking complex near Tahrir where demonstrators had been squatting for weeks, leaving 20 protesters and four police officers dead, medics told AFP.

At least 452 people – the vast majority of them protesters – have died since mass protests gripped the country while 20,000 have been wounded.
Update from An Nahar at 5:45: a.m. ET:
Security forces found launchers with rockets that had not been fired properly, indicating a larger attack was planned, a military statement said.

It is the latest in an uptick in rocket attacks targeting either Iraqi bases where American troops are located or the U.S. embassy in Baghdad.

U.S. defense officials have blamed several on Iran-backed factions in Iraq.

Security sources told AFP that the wounded in Monday's attack belong to Iraq's Counter-Terrorism Service, an elite unit that was created and trained by U.S. forces. Two of them are in critical condition, the sources said.

The military complex also hosts a small group of U.S. soldiers and American diplomats.

There have been at least nine attacks against U.S. targets in Iraq in the span of six weeks. There have been no claims of responsibility and no U.S. forces have been wounded.

Security sources have linked at least one last week to Kataib Hezbollah, a powerful Shiite faction close to Tehran and blacklisted by Washington.

Iran holds vast sway in Iraq, especially among the more hardline elements of the Hashed al-Shaabi, a security force largely made up of Shiite militias.

A U.S. defense official told AFP the rocket attacks made the Hashed a bigger security threat to American troops in Iraq than the Islamic State group, the jihadist movement which the U.S. has vowed to help Baghdad wipe out.

On Friday the United States imposed sanctions on three senior Hashed figures.

U.S. officials say they are considering plans to deploy between 5,000 and 7,000 additional troops to the region to counter its arch-foe Iran.

The US Treasury on Friday accused his group of "widespread forced disappearances, abductions, killings, and torture" under the Global Magnitsky act.

The measures block financial transactions with and travel to the US for people who commit human rights abuses or corruption.

"I’m embarrassed. Designate me a terrorist! A global terrorist. What is this Treasury list?" Khazali said.

"That means the money we have in US banks will go," he added sarcastically.

The US also sanctioned Iraqi businessman and political figure Khamees al-Khanjar, whom it accused of bribery.

In a statement, Khanjar’s party condemned the decision and said the accusations were "extremely funny and illogical."

"He was never an official, nor was his party part of the government," invalidating the corruption allegation, it said.

Khanjar is an influential Sunni powerbroker with close ties across Iraq’s leading political parties.

Devin Nunes 'definitely' taking legal action after phone records appear in impeachment report
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Rep. Devin Nunes, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Republican, said Saturday that he will pursue legal action over his phone records being exposed by the House Intelligence Committee he sits on.

Mr. Nunes, the committee’s ranking member and former chairman, threatened the litigation in light of records of his phone calls appearing in a recent congressional report issued as part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

"I believe I am the first member of Congress, and I believe my staff and former staff are the first ones ever to have their phone records exposed like this," Mr. Nunes said on Fox News.

"We’re definitely going to take legal action," Mr. Nunes said on the "Fox & Friends: Weekend" program.

Released on Tuesday, the intelligence committee’s report contains its findings thus far with respect to the ongoing impeachment inquiry triggered by Mr. Trump withholding hundreds of millions of dollars in military assistance to Ukraine amid pursuing a favor from his counterpart in Kyiv.

Among the report’s 300-pages are phone records indicating Mr. Nunes and his staff was in contact earlier this year with individuals including Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani and Lev Parnas, a Ukrainian businessman associated with Mr. Giuliani who has since been indicted on campaign finance law violations, among others.

Patrick Boland, a front man for Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff, California Democrat, said on Thursday that Sherlocks "did not subpoena call records for any member of Congress or their staff" and instead suggested that Mr. Nunes and his team had been in touch with others under scrutiny.

"Any questions about the fact that Members, congressional staff or journalists appear in call records released by the Committee should be directed at those individuals, who were in contact with individuals of investigative interest to the impeachment inquiry," Mr. Boland said.

3,500 Fort Drum 1st Brigade soldiers headed to Afghanistan
[Mil News] About 3,500 Fort Drum soldiers will be headed to Afghanistan this winter.

The Department of the Army on Thursday announced that the winter 2020 rotation to Afghanistan will consist of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. The deployment will begin late winter.

The 1st Brigade Combat Team will replace the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, as part of a regular rotation of forces to support the United States’ commitment to Operation Freedom Sentinel.

Maj. Gen. Brian Mennes, commander of the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum, said the 1st Brigade is ready for the mission.

"The 1st Brigade Warriors are highly trained, disciplined and fit soldiers ready to win every mission the nation asks of them," Gen. Mennes said.

Col. James Eldridge, commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, said Fort Drum and the 1st Brigade have a long history serving in Afghanistan.

"This division was the first conventional Army division to enter Afghanistan after 9/11, and our return is a testament to our support of our international partners and the people of Afghanistan," he said.

Palestinian teen pulls knife on cops in West Bank, is arrested
[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian teen was arrested in the southern West Bank city of Hebron Sunday after threatening Border Police officers with a knife and a screwdriver.

The 17-year-old girl approached a police checkpoint at the city’s Tomb of the Patriarchs holy site carrying a backpack.

According to police, as she was undergoing a routine security check, she pulled out a knife and cried out, "You deserve to die, I came here to become a martyr."

Officers drew back and pointed their firearms at her, at which point she dropped the knife, a police statement said.

When additional officers arrived to arrest the teen, she pulled out a screwdriver and again threatened to stab them.

"Don't Be Evil": Last Refuge of a Tech Oligarch Scoundrel = "Because CHINA!"
    A taste:
[TheFederalist] Why Big Tech companies can’t stop being ‘evil’: Rana Foroohar's new book, 'Don't Be Evil,' paints an alarming portrait of Silicon Valley tech companies that need to be reined in before they start to affect our lives in even more insidious ways.

In 1998, in an academic paper titled “The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine,” Stanford University students Larry Page and Sergey Brin described how their project, which they had named Google, worked. Until Page and Brin published, their work had been shrouded in secrecy, much to the consternation of the Stanford faculty. However, their mentor was eventually able to convince Page and Brin to publish some of their work—it was an academic project, after all—and the two relented.

In the paper, Page and Brin outlined how search could be monetized—via advertising—and noted the danger of such a funding model, writing, “The goals of the advertising business model do not always correspond to providing quality search to users.” Indeed, such a model lead to what the two labeled “search engine bias” a phenomenon they identified as “particularly insidious.”

Financial Times writer Rana Foroohar includes the Google origin story in her scathing indictment of the two tech titans and, at least in her opinion, the road of moral compromise its two founders traversed to essentially take over the internet. Through stunning self-deception and adherence to a self-serving principle that “information wants to be free,” it wasn’t long before Google’s two founders succumbed to investor pressure and embraced an ideology of “data exists to be monetized.”

    THE INTERNET PROBLEM
The title of Foroohar’s book is Don’t Be Evil: How Big Tech Betrayed Its Founding Principles—and All of Us, a pithy nod to the company’s early motto. Foroohar is not only trying to be clever, she believes that “don’t be evil” was Google’s model from the outset because Page and Brin knew the “insidious” potential of the technology they had created. Writes Foroohar, “When Google advised its employees not to be evil, it did so because it knew full well that evil was more than a powerful temptation. Evil was baked into the business plan.”

Capitulating to the demands of investors to monetize by employing the advertising business plan they had previously denounced was merely their first sin. As Foroohar tells it, the company copied goto.com and Yelp, and cut off traffic to foundem.com, funneling users to Google’s results instead. This trend of big companies getting bigger and cutting off the ability of smaller firms to operate is at the heart of what Foroohar sees as the “the internet problem.”

    BECOMING THE VILLAIN
...Foroohar expertly and succinctly lays out the problems with Big Tech, drawing on her decades of experience covering the industry for the Financial Times. As noted before, her solutions are generally practical, varied, and for the most part modest.

And perhaps her most prescient ideas are already proving to be true. Foroohar retells Mark Zuckerberg’s testimony before Congress in the wake of the 2016 election and highlights a photograph that caught a glimpse of Zuckerberg’s notes telling him to mention China when questioned about Facebook’s monopolistic characteristics. Foroohar calls out Google and Facebook for crying “China” when pressure picks up against them:

Big Tech firms have responded to the growing public concern about privacy and anticompetitive business practices by playing to a long-standing American fear: It’s us versus China. Companies like Google and Facebook are increasingly trying to portray themselves to regulators and politicians as national champions, fighting to preserve America’s first-place standing in a video-game-like, winner-take-all battle for the future against the evil Middle Kingdom.

Multiple tweets reference "Jew money," contain disparaging remarks about homosexuals and use a homophobic slur.

The Sanders campaign has also garnered criticism over the candidate's appointment of Linda Sarsour as his campaign surrogate.

The Democratic Majority for Israel released a statement regarding "Sanders's refusal to call out antisemitism" following Sarsour's statement that Israel is "built on the idea" of Jewish supremacy.

"In fact, Israel is built on the idea that every people, including the Jewish people, is entitled to self-determination," the organization wrote.

Democratic Majority for Israel says it "made Senator Sanders aware" of Sarsour's anti-Israel comments, adding that it "privately urged him to publicly reject her comments yesterday but received no response and saw no action."

"Darius Khalil Gordon’s tweets traffic in a base, antisemitic slur. It is outrageous that Bernie Sanders would hire him, given Gordon’s history of posting blatantly antisemitic comments on social media," Matt Brooks, president of the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC), wrote in a statement on the RJC's website.

"Sanders’ campaign already has an image problem in the Jewish community, after he proposed withholding military aid to Israel and appointed Linda Sarsour as a campaign surrogate. This latest incident just confirms that Sanders’ problems run deep."

, both of whom face accusations of antisemitism, are also avid supporters of the Vermont senator's presidential campaign.

Gordon's Twitter account is no longer active.

True. But incomplete. The Left has always hated the Jews, because the Left has been since the French Revolution about defining individuals as interchangeable cogs in the class they belong to, organized by the state and uninterested in individual needs and abilities. Judaism, on the other hand, is precisely about individual efforts self-organized into communities taking responsibility for meeting their own needs and wants, mostly working around a frequently adversarial state. Napoleon, when he emancipated the Jews, said something like “Everything for the Jew as a man, nothing for the Jews as a people.” And he expected that, as a result of emancipation and equal treatment under the laws of his empire, the Jews as a distinct cultural group would quickly disappear.

Luxembourg urges EU to recognize Palestinian state
[Jpost] Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn is urging the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an Union to recognize Paleostine as a state, Axios reported, adding that the initiative is in response to US's change in settlement policy.

In a letter addressed to EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, as well as all EU foreign ministers, Asselborn wrote "it is time to start a debate within the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
on the opportunity of a recognition of the State of Paleostine by all its Member States," according to Axios.

"The recognition of Paleostine as a State would neither be a favor, nor a blank check, but a simple recognition of the right of the Paleostinian people to their own State. In no way would it be directed against Israel. Indeed, if we want to contribute to solving the conflict between Israel and Paleostine, we must never lose sight of Israel’s security conditions, as well as of justice and dignity for the Paleostinian people."

Israel is reportedly very concerned about the initiative, but Israeli and European officials noted that the issue will likely not be discussed during the EU Foreign Affairs Council on Monday in Brussels, but rather during the next meeting in January.

Slovenia's Foreign Minister Miro Cerar said on Sunday that EU member states cannot remain silent about what is happening in Paleostine, according to the Paleostinian WAFA news agency. Cerar pointed to "dangerous developments on the ground" and pointed out that the new EU leadership doesn't accept the injustice of the Paleostinian cause and the Paleostinian people.

Slovenia supports the two-state solution and sees the settlements as illegal, stressed Cerar. The foreign minister talked with Paleostinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Maliki about the "dangerous" steps taken by the US administration which would "eliminate any opportunity for a two-state solution," according to WAFA, including statements by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that Israeli settlements are not illegal according to international law.

Cerar made the comments on the sidelines of the Mediterranean Dialogues conference in Rome. Maliki stressed the need to take a unified stand towards the current situation and discussed ways to strengthen the Paleostinian relationship with the EU to "save the grinding of the peace processor and pressure Israel and prevent it from annexing the Jordan Valley."

The two also discussed ways to enhance relations between Slovenia and the PA, including by encouraging investment. Cerar stressed that Slovenia will do its best to support Paleostine in international forums, with both sides agreeing to "communicate and coordinate their steps."

Last week, 11 EU countries, plus Latin American powers Brazil and Colombia, voted for the first time against a resolution that has passed every year since 1977 mandating a special "Division for Paleostinian Rights" inside the UN Secretariat, devoted to promoting the Paleostinian narrative against Israel.

Maliki criticized the votes during the meeting with Cerar, according to WAFA.

In November, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that Israeli goods produced over the pre-1967 line must be marked as settlement products.

Naturally they're being laughed at, while someone devises crafty traps and stings for them. It could be that now these Ewww small fry think they can play the same game.

Islam was not even recognized in Luxembourg until the local shoura backed by certain bankers out of Turkey, made ridiculous payments to their bureaucrats and legislators in 2015 and amended the bloody constitution itself to allow muslims to have their 'religion'. The Jamaat formed in the unfortunate country along with wakf boards and courts, and through crime and doles they made back the money they had bribed the traitors with within a year. Within years, Kidnapping and sex trafficking of school girls became a real crime for the first time in the Grand Duchy.

Retiring House Democrat says a Trump reelection would be a 'nightmare scenario' for Congress
The poor darling. And there he is, doing nothing to help anyone.
[The Hill] Retiring Rep. Denny Heck (D-Wash.) said Sunday that President Trump's reelection in 2020 would be a "nightmare scenario" for Congress.

Heck announced Wednesday that he would retire after completing his current term, noting that part of him feels "discouraged" by some of his colleagues' reactions to the impeachment inquiry.

"If President Trump gets a second term, what do you think the impact's going to be on Congress?" "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd asked Heck on NBC.

"That is a nightmare scenario, in my mind," Heck responded.

"Because of the absence of a commitment to decency or truth on his part that has been amply demonstrated in his three years in public office, because of his refusal to recognize even the most basic precepts of constitutional principle," he added.

Heck added that one point of discouragement has been the growing number of people who "simply don't believe in compromise."

"My soul is weary, Chuck," he said.
”Oh, Chuck, the ennui, it is so tiresome,” he added.

Christmas gifts delivered to the ISS
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] SpaceX made an early holiday delivery to the International Space Station on Sunday, bringing muscle-bound "mighty mice," pest-killing worms and a smart, empathetic robot.

The Dragon was launched from Cape Canaveral three days earlier.

The two spacecraft soared 260 miles (420 kilometers) above the South Pacific at the time of capture.

It marks the third visit for this recycled Dragon.

The capsule holds 3 tons (2,720 kilograms) of supplies, including 40 mice for a muscle and bone experiment.

Eight of them are genetically engineered with twice the normal muscle mass - and so are considered "mighty mice."

There also are 120,000 roundworms, or nematodes of a beneficial variety that are part of an agricultural study aimed at controlling pests here on Earth.

The capsule also has a large, round robot head with artificial intelligence and the ability to sense astronauts’ emotions.
    "I'm sorry, Dave. I can't do that"
Named Cimon, it’s an improved version of what flew up last year to be tested as an astronaut’s helper.

NASA has tucked some Christmas presents in the shipment for the station’s six-person crew, as well.

It’s SpaceX’s 19th delivery to the orbiting outpost for NASA over the past seven years.

The astronauts have another shipment coming on Monday - this one launched by Russia from Kazakhstan on Friday.

Day 4: 'Radicalized' Pensacola gunman visited 9/11 memorial in New York 2 days before shooting up Navy classroom as it's revealed he had ‘been thinking about this for a long time’
See today also here and here, here, here, and here. And finally here.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
    • Saudi Royal Air Force Second Lt. Mohammed Saeed al-Shamrani killed three and wounded eight others at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, on Friday

    • He carried out the shooting with a 9mm Glock 45 semiautomatic pistol with an extended magazine, according to law enforcement officials

    • Investigators say al-Shamrani obtained the gun legally after buying it from a Pensacola gun shop

    • Although federal law doesn't allow foreign nationals to purchase a gun, al-Shamrani took advantage of a loophole by obtaining a Florida hunting license

    • It took al-Shamrani about 15 weeks to obtain the handgun legally, leading investigators to believe he was driven to carry out the shooting

    • In April he also lodged a complaint against one of his instructors at the training center who called him ‘porn stash’ in front of other aviation students

    • Investigators also questioned at least five other Saudi airmen who were with al-Shamrani during his four-day trip to New York City just days before shooting

    • Sources said al-Shamrani and the Saudis traveled to New York on November 28, where they saw the 9/11 memorial, the Statue of Liberty, and Central Park

    • Law enforcement officials said that the group of Saudis did not notice any unusual behavior by al-Shamrani during the trip to New York
After the shooting, a number of the Saudi airmen took cell phone video near the scene. But investigators say they were merely doing what any other curious onlooker would do when seeing a large number of emergency vehicles descend on the area. Investigators combed through the cell phone footage and found nothing unusual that would arouse their suspicions, according to The Daily Beast.

‘Nothing before the fact, nothing during,’ one law enforcement official said
    The Jerusalem Post adds:
Rachel Rojas, special agent in charge of the FBI's Jacksonville office and lead investigator on the case, said the FBI was working, as it does in most mass shootings, on the presumption that it was an act of terrorism, but she stressed that was largely to allow investigators to use special tools afforded to them in terrorism cases.

"We are looking very hard at uncovering his motive and I would ask for patience so we can get this right," she said, adding that 80 FBI special agents, 100 support staff and scores of other investigators from the Navy and multiple federal agencies were working the case.

Rojas said the pistol he used - a Glock 9mm handgun that can be paired with a magazine holding 33 rounds - was legally purchased by the shooter somewhere in Florida. According to U.S. regulations, it is legal for a foreigner in the United States on a nonimmigrant visa to buy a gun if certain conditions are met - including if they simply have a hunting license.

Alshamrani was on the base as part of a U.S. Navy training program designed to foster links with foreign allies.

His fellow Saudi students were speaking directly to American investigators and were restricted to the base on order of the Saudi military, Rojas said.
    And from Reuters:
Investigators have found no sign Alshamrani had links to international terrorist groups and think he may have radicalized on his own, the New York Times reported, citing an unidentified U.S. official. It said the airman first entered the United States in 2018, returned to Saudi Arabia, then re-entered the United States in February, and had reported for training at the base about three days before the attack.

At least three of the eight people wounded were law enforcement officers shot as they responded to the attack, officials said, including one Navy police officer and two county sheriff's deputies. They were expected to recover.

and expressed his condolences and support for the families of the victims of the Florida naval base shooting, Saudi Press Agency reported.
That’s nice. What are you going to do to make this right, Your Highness? Blood money as if they were Muslim from the family of Lt. "In the call, HRH the Crown Prince expressed his condolences to the US president and his condolences and support for the families of the victims of the tragic incident in Florida State and his wishes for the speedy recovery for the injured," the statement on SPA read.

"The Crown Prince reaffirmed the kingdom’s keenness on the absolute cooperation by the concerned Saudi authorities with the US authorities by providing them with information that helps in investigations related to the perpetrator and his motives," the statement added.

During the phone call, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also spoke to Trump on "the feelings of the Saudi people who expressed their pain and shock towards this heinous crime."

Twitter users in Saudi Arabia have put out a hashtag that translates to ’The criminal in Florida does not represent us’ ‐ after news emerged of the shooting in the US by a Saudi aviation student in Pensacola, Florida.

Investigators believe a Saudi Arabian Air Force lieutenant acted alone when he killed three people and maimed eight at a US Navy base in Pensacola, Florida, before being fatally shot by a deputy sheriff, Rooters reported citing the FBI.

Saudis probe whether Pensacola shooter was radicalized on recent trip home

[NYPost] Saudi authorities are investigating whether the Pensacola navy base killer was radicalized during a trip home last year, according to a report Sunday.

Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, who killed three young US Navy students in Friday’s shooting spree in Florida, had been in the US since 2017 for a Pentagon training program, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The 21-year-old Saudi Air Force lieutenant had returned home for a trip last year, sparking fears that he could have been radicalized there before returning to the US in February this year, the paper said.

Authorities in the kingdom are trying to determine how Alshamrani spent his time and whom he contacted during his trip in late 2018, officials told the paper.

#9  Trump should tell the royal family that for every American killed in this sort of way by a Saudi, we want 1 castrated, flayed and crucified Royal Saudi Prince put on display on the white house lawn. Maybe that will give them the incentive they need.

#10  the unspoken story here is that as a Saudi Air Force lieutenant, this guy was very trusted by the 'Royal' family of Saud.
Some kind of princeling or blood relation I would gather.
Further unspoken is that a trip home (perchance the hajj?) is what 'radicalized' (set him off). So these ragheads are basically admitting that just setting foot in their country can cause sudden-jihad-syndrome.

#13  The FBI says he had a permit for the Glock 45. It was a legally purchased gun. That can only mean that he wasn't worried about going to jail after. It wasn't bought for his safety. He carried it on base knowing no one else would have one.

He was using the timid, deliberative, suicidal security protocols in America to aid his act. And he had carried the plan in his mind for a considerable amount of time. The feebs should release every detail they have on his contacts, his history and his mosque in America. Was it the Al-Islam Dawah Center on Barrancas Ave ? If so, what people was he close to there ? Are the g-men talking to them now ? The people have every right to know.

As for the contention that it would 'compromise the integrity' of the investigation, that canard has been proven to be bullshit again and again in this case. You want to catch cockroaches you shine a light, they come out and you stomp. The bureaucracy is still about correctness and islamophobia and it would relieve them greatly if they could just sweep this away as a 'temporary insanity' thingy.

CCW permit from the state of Florida? I'd imagine other military personnel have the same paperwork, still doesn't allow them to carry on base.

#20  CCW permit from the state of Florida? I'd imagine other military personnel have the same paperwork, still doesn't allow them to carry on base.

I read something the other day that selling firearms to a foreign citizen can make the seller subject to that foreigner's government's firearm laws.

If I understand, firearm restrictions can be waived for foreigners in military exchanges and security details, or other reasons such as a hunting tourist.

As for searching a protected group, imagine you do a thorough search and this guys complain to a big wig they are being harassed and the Prince will hear about this.

And what if you make him mad and he does something, or something.

I guess, if anything, at least the handgun wasn't dropped on base with instructions.

New Zealand volcano popular with tourists abruptly loses popularity
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] New Zealand’s White Island volcano erupted suddenly on Monday, prompting fears for a group of visitors seen walking on the crater floor moments before.
    that's gonna leave a mark...
The country’s National Emergency Management Agency, said a “moderate volcanic eruption is occurring at White Island and is hazardous in the immediate vicinity of the volcano.

Cameras providing a live feed from the volcano showed more than half a dozen people walking inside the rim at 2:10 pm local time (01:10 GMT), before images went dark when the eruption occurred minutes later.

The local mayor said he feared there had been “injuries” in the eruption.
