Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher's Wife and Brother Share How the Accusations Went from Cookie Butter Theft to Murder
[Breitbart] It started out with a small group of Navy SEALs back in Mosul, Iraq, in the summer of 2017.
First they complained he stole someone’s Red Bull energy drinks, that he ate half of someone’s cookie butter from a care package, and that he didn’t pay someone back for a haircut.

Two complainants did have more serious concerns ‐ they thought he was too aggressive in his tactics, which they felt put their lives at unnecessary risk.

But those allegations were nothing like those he faced months after the Navy SEAL platoon returned home.

The allegations turned from stealing cookie butter into cold-blooded murder ‐ that he stabbed a wounded teenage ISIS captive to death and mowed down a young girl and old man from a sniper’s roost.

Soon, what started as petty rumors morphed into murder charges against a decorated Navy SEAL in a case that has captured the nation’s ‐ and the president’s ‐ attention.

Those fighting for 40-year-old Chief Special Warfare Operator Eddie Gallagher’s innocence believe he will ultimately be found not guilty when his trial convenes on June 17.

Only with Real Transparency Will the FBI Ever Be Trusted Again
[PJ] When Donald Trump told George Stephanopoulos he (Donald) might listen to "oppo" research coming from a foreign source and that he might not tell the FBI about it, the mainstream media, as is so often the case, deliberately missed or misstated what he meant, went into one of their usual hissy fits, and attacked the president, even calling him treasonous.

Besides the obvious hypocrisy, pointed out with characteristic aplomb by Andrew McCarthy, something else, likely more important, was at play.

The media (and the Democrats, of course) deliberately missed the point because you would have to be seriously intellectually challenged not to get why Trump might have been hesitant or ambivalent about going to the FBI. These days only a total dimwit would unquestioningly trust the supposed "world's greatest law enforcement agency." The FBI is under a dark cloud.

The litany of personages who have recently left or been expelled from that organization is long and getting longer. As is well known, it's under investigation for its practices during and before the Mueller probe, via the inspector general and recently-appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham, who is famed for prosecuting FBI agents with ties to the Boston mob. All this is being supervised by AG William Barr.

Florida Governor Signs Anti-Sanctuary City Bill Into Law
[Free Beacon] In an aggressive attempt to enforce immigration law, Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law banning sanctuary cities in the state. The law requires state agencies and law enforcement entities to support federal law enforcement when addressing illegal immigration in the state.

Sanctuary cities restrict cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, meaning that they can serve as safe havens for illegal immigrants looking to avoid deportation. Over the course of his tenure, the Trump administration has targeted sanctuary cities with funding cuts for refusing to work with federal agencies such as Immigration Customs and Enforcement.

There are currently no sanctuary cities in Florida, meaning the law bans any future defiance of federal immigration law from Florida's municipalities.

The law was one of the Republican governor's major campaign promises, the Miami Herald reported. It will go into effect in October.

State Sen. David Simmons (R.), co-sponsor of the law, addressed concerns that the law would damage relations between illegal immigrants and law enforcement, according to Spectrum News 13. He stressed that the legislation only pertains to cooperation with the federal government after an individual has been arrested for a crime.

#4  Iblis, I would expect that within days, if not hours, someone will file suit against the law, since it is supposed to be a Federal responsibility to enforce immigration laws. The states aren't supposed to do that.

IIRC, that is one of the reasons Sheriff Joe got into trouble for trying to enforce federal laws.

So, someone will file suit, probably in Hawaii, to block enforcement of the Florida law.

#5  Like many of these laws, it has no teeth. Such cities should be held to be in a state of insurrection against the Federal government and the military sent in to restore order and remove the rebellious governments.

Then we can watch the hangings.

Rethinking hero status: Was Martin Luther King Jr. a monster?
[American Thinker] César Chávez once declared, "History will judge societies and governments -- and their institutions -- not by how big they are or how well they serve the rich and the powerful, but by how effectively they respond to the needs of the poor and the helpless."

This quote got me thinking. How will history judge Martin Luther King Jr.?

The Troubling Legacy of Martin Luther King, a recent essay published by widely respected historian David Garrow in Standpoint, a widely respected British magazine, sparked fierce debate among historians. Within the press, however, Garrow’s essay was met with a reaction somewhere between ambivalence and outright refutation.

Remember, this is David Garrow, author of King’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography. This is an author of real merit.

According to Garrow, King engaged in orgies, solicited prostitutes, and "looked on and laughed" as a rape took place before his very eyes.

Again, this report comes from a senior advisor to Eyes on the Prize, an award-winning series documenting the Civil Rights movement. Garrow is very much a liberal's liberal. He’s certainly no friend of the right, and he’s certainly no enemy of King's. In fact, Garrow is, in many ways, a former idolator.

The allegations against Dr. King are as shocking as they are unfathomable. How could this man, an activist and orator like no other, act in such a monstrous manner? In King’s famous "I have a dream" speech, the self-professed pacifist eloquently expressed the hope that someday his children would be able to live in a nation "where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Well, Dr. King, your wish has been granted, because here we are, all these years later, judging the content of your character.

Angry community castrates man who allegedly took part in gang rape of teen girls
[News24] A man has died after he was castrated, allegedly by an angry mob from Ivory Park, east of Johannesburg, on Saturday night.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, the incident comes after two girls aged 14 and 18 were allegedly gang raped.

"Allegations are that two girls who were walking to Lindokuhle informal settlement were confronted by suspects armed with a knife and a firearm. The suspects then raped them repeatedly," said Dlamini.

He said police were also following leads to arrest two other suspects who managed to escape from the community members who tried to apprehend them at the scene of the alleged gang rape.

Jackson Lee (D) Calls Conyers ‘Honorable' Despite Resigning Over Sexual Misconduct
[Free Beacon] Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee
......the clownish U.S. Representative-for-life for Texas's 18th congressional district, serving since 1995. The district includes most of inner-city Houston. She is noted for her lack of tact and intellect. She is a member of the Democratic Party, and almost its epitome......
(D., Texas) on Saturday called the disgraced former congressman John Conyers (D., Mich.) "honorable" while she discussed his push for a commission on reparations.

Jackson Lee appeared on MSNBC's PoliticsNation to discuss reparations when she made the comment about Conyers. Host civil rights hustler Al Sharpton
...Tawana Brawley's spiritual advisor...
mentioned how Jackson Lee is the new sponsor of House Resolution 40, which was first proposed by Conyers in 1989 to study reparations.

"You are starting an inquiry in Congress. What will happen Wednesday and where do you want to see this go?" Sharpton asked.

"This commission‐and I'm delighted to have this bill and to push it into a 21st century‐was first introduced in 1989 by my friend and colleague, the honorable John Conyers," Jackson Lee said.

She went on to say she wants the call for reparations to be a "constructive dialogue" on the issue of discrimination and the impact of slavery and its aftermath.

Conyers was pressured to resign in December 2017 after multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, including a $27,000 settlement Conyers reached with a former employee. He was one of various political figures felled by the MeToo movement to expose sexual misconduct by powerful people, such as former Sen. Al Franken (D., Minn.) and former New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

Initially, Jackson Lee dodged a question on whether Conyers should resign, saying the decision should be left up to him, calling him a "patriot." She would later anger members of the Congressional Black Caucus after she persuaded Conyers not to announce retirement yet, causing the controversy to make headlines for another five days.

Illegal Aliens Sue Border Patrol. The Lawsuit's Outcome Can Have Massive Implications
[The Monitor] Attorneys representing seven migrants from Central America allege U.S. Customs and Border Protection is holding them in overcrowded facilities while denying them access to legal counsel.

The plaintiffs include Jairo Alexander Gonzalez Recinos, of El Salvador; Gerardo Henrique Herrera Rivera, of El Salvador; Kevin Eduardo Rizzo Ruano, of Guatemala; Jonathan Fernando Beltran Rizzo, of Guatemala; Enerly Melitza Ramos, of Guatemala; Karen Vanessa Borjas Zuniga, of Honduras; and Julia Elizabeth Molina Lopez, of Honduras.

The lawsuit targets several Department of Homeland Security officials and seeks the immediate release of the migrants on bond, as well as any others who are similarly situated.

"Petitioners were apprehended in mid-May at or near the U.S. Border with Mexico and subsequently detained. Once apprehended, such persons are often detained for extended periods of time ‐ on information and belief, up to six weeks ‐ in overcrowded holding cells, with inadequate food, water, and sanitation facilities, where attorneys are not allowed to visit. The conditions in these holding cells are dangerous and inhumane," the lawsuit stated.

The litigation follows a report from a DHS internal watchdog that revealed "dangerous overcrowding" at an El Paso Border Patrol processing facility ‐ a facility designed to hold 125 detainees that held approximately 900 people during a two-day span in early May.

Posted by: CrazyFool || 06/17/2019 8:20 Comments || Top||

#4  Yupp. The judge's been shopped. No judge should even allow for such litigation to be filed.

Another article even goes on to link the outbreak of measles in America to infection spreading from these migrants to CBP agents coming back home to infect their families.

Border Patrol agents are doing everything they can to weed out illegal aliens who are sick but they're not properly trained to evaluate for communicable diseases, a whistleblower previously told Townhall. The agents don't have medical training so they're having to guess which aliens are sick and which ones aren't. Illegal aliens who are sick slip through the cracks and are being flown and bussed to other Border Patrol stations throughout the country to be processed. It's why measles, mumps and chicken pox outbreaks are becoming more prevalent. The illegal aliens disperse throughout the United States, agents at other stations get sick, they bring it home to their families and it spreads.

So, open the borders, let the Gonzalez and Lopez and Borjas run free and the measles will go away too.
Posted by: Dron66046 || 06/17/2019 8:56 Comments || Top||

#5  The article doesn't say where the suit was filed. Logically, the suit would be filed where the plaintiffs are located, the Southern District of Texas; however, logic seldom dictates suits like this. Hopefully, the case is in Texas and we will get to see what a Texas federal judge and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals do with the claims.

#6  They should be considered foreign invaders and shot out of hand for crossing our border and their home nations properly chastised with a few arc light strikes and Mavericks through whatever their tyrants are called windows. Enough of this stupid insanity. Anyone demanding open borders should immediately be shot as a traitor.

France begins trial of compulsory civic service for teens
[France24] Nearly two decades after France phased out conscription for men, some 2,000 teenagers on Sunday began a pilot programme for a new national civic service, a pet project of French President Emmanuel Macron.

For a fortnight, the 15- and 16-year-olds will leave home for training in first aid and other basic skills, followed later by another two weeks of volunteering.

Macron caused surprise on the campaign trail in 2017 by promising to introduce a month-long compulsory national service, saying he wanted to give girls and boys "a direct experience of military life".

The proposal got a cool response from the army, which baulked at the prospect of having to put millions of teens through their paces, prompting the government to come back with proposals for a compulsory civic service instead.

Some 2,000 youngsters, including 50 disabled teens, were chosen out of 4,000 volunteers for the first part of the trial, which started Sunday at boarding schools, holiday villages and university campuses around the country.

The group includes high school students, drop-outs, apprentices and vocational school trainees.

Each volunteer will leave home for another region for the two weeks, during which time they will be required to wear navy uniforms and sing the "Marseillaise", France's national anthem, every morning.

Described as an "integration phase", teens will be taught first aid, map reading, emergency response for different scenarios and other skills.

Imbued with a military ethos, the national service centres, managed by a "chief of brigade", will each feature five houses of 10 young people, Gabriel Attal, secretary of state to the minister of national education told Le Parisien. Although each house will have an adult supervisor, the teens will be responsible for dividing up tasks and taking care of the houses.

#6  Possibly they are looking at is as a way to Frenchify the immigrant population while gathering biometric information and charting the connections of those who they may need to become more familiar with later. Also introduce them to the bourgeoise behaviours that will allow them to better succeed in school and work, should they choose to adopt them.

Two sessions of two weeks is not exactly a great imposition. When America had a military draft it was what — three years? And that with a reasonable chance of being killed, unlike a brief stint picking up trash along the highway or scrubbing graffiti off gravestones.

Houdini trick takes unexpected twist - river claims shackled magician
[BBC] An Indian magician, who attempted to recreate Harry Houdini's famed trick by jumping shackled into a river, is feared dead.

Chanchal Lahiri was meant to escape and swim to safety but did not emerge from the Hooghly river in West Bengal state.

Spectators who had gathered to watch him take the plunge on Sunday informed the police, who say they are searching for him.

Mr Lahiri, also known as Mandrake, was lowered into the river from a boat.

He was shackled with six locks and a chain as spectators on two boats watched him. Several people had also gathered by the shore and some stood on the landmark Howrah Bridge in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta).

Police and a team of divers canvassed the area but as of Sunday evening local time, they had been unable to find the magician. One officer told the Hindustan Times newspaper that Mr Lahiri could not be declared dead until the body was found.

Jayant Shaw, a photographer with a local newspaper, witnessed Mr Lahiri attempting the trick. He told the BBC that he spoke to him before the magician started his act.

#1  It should read as,

INDIAN MAGICIAN BEATS HOUDINI - SLIPS INTO PARALLEL DIMENSION

Mr. Lahiri, calling himself Mandrake (out of irony or spite against Lee Falk), dressed up as an oriental Sacha Baron Cohen (for some reason) and entered the Hooghly river never to be seen again. While Houdini had done the trick in relatively calmer current and emerged 200-250 ft away after a minute or so; Mandrake's been gone for quite a while now. So he may turn up in the Bay of Bengal.

PS: Actually this belongs in a section called Irony, Fails and Pitfalls.

King of the PCC's – SIG's MPX (New Model Review)
[Guns America Digest] The Sig MPX made a significant splash in the Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) competition world when it was first released in 2015. Several top shooters adopted it over the 9mm AR-15 conversions and dedicated AR platform guns being used. Both the AR style guns and the MPX were tweaked and upgraded by the shooters to gain an edge in the Practical Shooting arena where performance is measured down to the hundredth of a second.

SIPRI: Israel Has Close To 100 Nuclear Warheads
[Jpost] Israel has close to 100 nuclear weapons, a new report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute has found.

While Israel has a long-standing policy of not commenting on its nuclear arsenal, according to the report there are approximately 30 that are gravity bombs, which can be delivered by fighter jets ‐ some of which are believed to be equipped for nuclear weapon delivery ‐ and approximately 50 warheads that can be delivered by land-based ballistic missiles such as the Jericho III intermediate-range ballistic missile ‐ which, according to foreign reports, has a range of 5,500 km.

The report also mentioned the numerous unconfirmed reports that Israel has modified its fleet of German-built Dolphin class submarines to carry nuclear-armed sea-launched cruise missiles, giving it a sea-based second-strike capability.

Bangladesh
Bangladesh arrests policeman over sharing of harassment complaint
[Al Jazeera] Bangladeshi authorities have arrested a senior policeman accused of sharing on social media the recording of an official complaint of sexual harassment made by a teenage girl who was later burned to death.

Moazzem Hossain, who is suspended from duty, had been in hiding since late May, when the Cyber Tribunal court warrant was issued against him over sharing the complaint by Nusrat Jahan Rafi.

A police front man said on Sunday he had been arrested after a tip-off and "will be soon produced to the court", where he will face charges of violating digital security laws.

The killing of Rafi in April sparked protests across the South Asian nation, with the prime minister promising to prosecute all those involved.

At least 16 people - including the teacher - have been charged in connection with the killing and could face the death penalty
if convicted.

Rafi was lured to the rooftop of an Islamic seminary she attended where her attackers asked her to withdraw a sexual harassment complaint filed with police against the head teacher.

When she refused, she was doused in kerosene and set on fire. Rafi suffered burns to 80 percent of her body and died five days later, her death highlighted an alarming rise in sexual harassment cases in Bangladesh.

She recorded a video before her death, repeating her allegations against the teacher.

An investigation by authorities later found Moazzem Hossain, the police chief of the town where Rafi was killed, had not properly dealt with the complaint the teenager made.

Rafi went to the police in late March to make allegations of sexual harassment against the head teacher. A leaked video showed Hossain registering her complaint, but dismissing it as "not a big deal".

Hossain was accused of illegally filming the video, which was later circulated on social media platforms.

Afghanistan
Iranian Envoy Sees A Role For Taliban In Power
So kind of them, to be sure.
[ToloNews] Iran’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Mohammad Reza Bahrami, says that Tehran wants a role for the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
in Afghanistan’s government, but that role should not be dominant.

Taliban has publicly said that the group is not seeking power and that it wants an equal role for all Afghans in the future government.

"We agree on the participation of the Taliban in power, but we do not agree with a dominant role for them," Bahrami told TOLOnews. "Our position is very clear. We want to say there is a structure present where the Taliban can participate."

Bahrami said that the picture of peace remains vague, adding those who lead the grinding of the peace processor are responsible for the uncertainty, indirectly hinting at the role of the US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad, the Afghan government, and former President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
...Former president of Aghanistan, part of the problem not part of the solution...
in the process.

"I want to clarify this issue that we are not blamed for the uncertainty about the future. Instead, those who have pushed the legitimization of the Taliban to an irreversible situation and those who are leading the [peace] process should be blamed [for this]. Those who have weakened the official institutions through their approach and those who have created a negative rivalry for their contact with the Taliban should be blamed," Bahrami explained.

Back in January, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that it is impossible to have a future Afghan government without a role for the Taliban.

However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
he said the group should not have a dominant role in a future Afghan government ‐ which will be formed after a possible peace deal between the Kabul government and the holy warrior group.

Meanwhile,
...back at the saloon, Butch got the bill for the damage caused by the fist fight, the mirror broken in the shootout, and drinks for everyone......
the Speaker of the Senate, Fazl Hadi Moslemyar, says he is not in favor of the way the peace talks with the Taliban are moving forward while the Afghan people remain unaware about it.

"Our expectation from [Zalmay] Khalilzad is that your mission is for Afghanistan, for peace in Afghanistan... You are making conspiracy for us, you are not making it for others," Moslemyar said.

The US and the Taliban officials will attend the seven round of talks in Doha in the coming days.

RISING VIOLENCE
Violence has dramatically increased in the country despite the past seven months of diplomatic efforts at the regional and international levels.

The deputy head of the High Peace Council, Attaullah Rahman, who addressed a gathering in Kabul on Sunday, said the presence of Taliban’s deputy leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar did not help in the reduction of violence as it was expected.

"They [Taliban negotiators in Doha] read one or two texts and then say they do not have more authority [to decide]," Rahman said.

"I want to emphasize that we do not want a peace which comes in two or three days and again there is a war in three months," said Rula Ghani, Afghanistan’s First Lady.

Figures by Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission show that more than 75,000 Afghan civilians have been killed and maimed over the past ten years and it would be difficult to reach to peace without justice.

"From the start of 1388 [2009] until the end of 1397 [2018], more than 75,316 of innocent civilians were either killed or maimed due to the ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan," said Ayoub Azizi, a member of the commission.

Taliban Attacks ‘Intensify’ Amid Holidays In Pakistani Madrassas
Good to know.
[ToloNews] The police chief of Kandahar, Gen. Tadeen Khan, says that the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
attacks on security forces in the south of Afghanistan have increased amid the start of summer holidays in Pak madrassas which according to him is training "extremism and terrorism" to its students.

Khan said that lack of religious schools in the country is questioning and it pushes the Afghan youth to go to Pakistain and there, they get "training on terrorism and extremism".

"It is the summer and it is a war season because madrassas in Pakistain are off and they [the students of the madrassas] are sent to Afghanistan in the name of Jihad," the police chief said.

Khan said that while peace efforts are underway, the Taliban are intensifying the war in the south so they can "get privileges" during the talks.

"We are prepared and we will respond to every attack by the Taliban," Khan said.

A study by Afghanistan Institute of Strategic Studies in 2017 found that the number of unregistered madrassas in Afghanistan has dramatically increased.

Almost 300 people were interviewed at 50 unregistered madrassas in ten provinces of Afghanistan with the main focus on suicide kabooms, the study shows.

"Afghan students should be trained inside the country in order to prepare their mindset in favor of their country, but when they receive training on use of weapons and extremism in other countries," said Fida Mohammad, member of Kandahar Provincial Council.

"We have Islamic education sections within the education directorate but it is marred by corruption. We will be able to prevent the seasonal conflicts if we send a limited number of students to proper Islamic studies centers outside the country," said Hekmatullah, a civil society activist in Kandahar.

Ghorak, Shorabak, Shah Wali Kot and Maiwand districts in Kandahar province recently witnessed a rise in Taliban attacks, targeting government forces.

Khan said that most of the attacks have been push back by the security forces.

Mayor Jack Young Signs Gender-Inclusive, Single Occupancy Restroom Bill Into Law At Baltimore Pride Weekend
[BALTIMORE.CBSLOCAL] Mayor Jack Young signed a bill that would allow all single occupancy restrooms to be used by anyone, male or female.

This is in an effort to provide a safe space for all citizens regardless of their gender identity.

"All of your elected officials believe in equality, we believe in everyone treated the same way," Baltimore Council President Brandon Scott said.

The new law will open up all single occupancy bathrooms with gender-inclusive signage to male and female. This will allow members of the transgender community to use any restroom they feel comfortable with.

Councilman Zeke Cohen introduced the bill and it received unanimous approval from the Baltimore City Council.

"We know that in the city and across the country, restrooms are a space of fear and anxiety for a trans and gender non-binary communities," Cohen said.

Bathroom laws have been a hot button issue across the country.

Posing as lipsticked, sashaying oddities they've turned back your hard won victory over public places that once forced you to either hold it in or pee in gutters. A convention that was only for the safety of women and children from predators has been done away with. Ultimately men will use these new laws related to protecting transgender people as ways to attack women and children.

#6  I saw universal restrooms in a state park in Missouri several years ago. The were much larger than port-a-potties, but not much cleaner.

I've noticed newer facilities in north Texas are 'universal'. Still have men and women, but they (men's room anyways) are set up for handicapped access and have no urinals, so could easily become first-come, first-served, any-gender-at-all. Women will have to get used to messy seats.

#10  Did you all even read the part where this would apply to single occupancy bathrooms? The ones originally intended for handicapped people with a wide space in the middle with only a single toilet and a lock on the door. As far as I'm concerned, they basically are gender neutral already. Why shouldn't they be if only one person goes inside at a time? As a side note, the gas station I previously worked at had two of them, one for men and one for women, and if one was occupied, I assure you, people would just use the other one, regardless of the sign. There were no issues there.

#12  Ill still pee without lifting up the seat.

My favourite park in Cincinnati has a long row of lockable, single-occupant bathrooms instead of a gents’ and a ladies’. The stainless steel toilets don’t actually have proper seats, which Ebboluns Shong6204 will find a relief; a few of the bathrooms at the ends are double width and marked for handicapped use, and park staff arrange for additional port-a-potties when they expect crowds,

This kind of thing has been going on for a while, as 49 Pan points out; Mayor Young is just taking the opportunity to shut down the fussing — nearly cost-free since the single use jobbies are already there, and much safer for all involved than integrating traditional ladies’ rooms.

#13  Agree re single-occupancy. Doubt this'll make any visible difference (from the male point of view, anyway), but if the funk surpasses a certain point, well, that's why God made sinks, newspapers and plastic bags, right? But the "liberation" of multi-stall, multi-sink restrooms in stores or gov't buildings? Yoiks. First encountered that, completely unawares, on a trip to Rajistan. Scarred for life, probably...

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Andrew McCabe Says Now Is The Time To Try To Impeach Trump
What makes today different than any other day?
[DAILYWIRE] After a leading question from CNN host Chris Cuomo, fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said now is "absolutely" the time to start impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze!...
McCabe made the statement after being asked by Cuomo, "Do you believe that an impeachment inquiry is warranted based on what you understand and what has come out of the Mueller report?"

McCabe, who wrote a memoir trashing Trump and defending the FBI, immediately agreed with Cuomo, saying, "absolutely."

The Hill reported that McCabe insisted Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s final report provided enough evidence to impeach Trump, even though the report found no evidence of collusion and made no determinations regarding obstruction of justice. Democrats have fixated on the obstruction claims, even though Mueller’s investigation was supposed to be a counterintelligence investigation, which is done on behalf of the president and therefore cannot be obstructed by the president. Further, since there was no underlying crime, only partisans can argue that Trump was obstructing rather than protesting the false accusations against him.

"I think we are clearly there with the results of the special counsel team," McCabe said regarding impeachment. "There are so many witnesses who could provide important, essential testimony to Congress that can only be done in the scope of an impeachment inquiry."

McCabe added that "Action should be taken immediately," and that it didn’t matter whether such an inquiry led to an actual impeachment.

McCabe was fired 26 hours before he was set to retire from the FBI and collect his full pension. His firing came as the result of an inspector general investigation that found he had leaked information to the media regarding the special counsel investigation and then lied, repeatedly, to Sherlocks about doing so.

Iraq
Fars News: Kurdish Forces Are Being Sent To Israel To Train With Mossad
Does this count as propaganda or as attempted PsyOps? Either way, given all the training Kurdish forces have received from America, Germany, and now supposedly Israel, they should be nigh on unbeatable.
[Jpost] The Kurdish forces have been allegedly sent to Iraq, awaiting transport by Israeli authorities to a base stationed in the West Bank for "espionage" training.

Multiple units of U.S.-backed Kurdish forces are currently being trained by Israeli Mossad agents to "carry out espionage operations against the regional states," according to the semi-official Iranian Fars News Agency.

Fars claims that the Arabic news website Khabour, which is affiliated with snuffies in Syria, quoted a source saying that close to 20 members of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party have been sent to the "Israeli-occupied regions in Paleostine to be trained by Mossad."

The source claims that the training operation is named "Kurdistani Mossad" and that the focus is to train regional operatives in order to gather information for the Jewish state.

"A military convoy comprising 70 trucks carrying military and logistic equipment [made in the US and Israel] has been dispatched by the US-led coalition from Iraq to Syria," London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed, according to Fars.

The Kurdish forces have been allegedly sent to Iraq, awaiting transport by Israeli authorities to a base stationed in the West Bank for "espionage" training.

Bernie Sanders pushes for drastic change to US economy: 'We need a political revolution'
[FOXNEWS] Sen. Bernie Sanders
...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being a socialist...
I-Vt., is in full force with his push for democratic socialism as he looks to increase support for his 2020 presidential campaign, and is calling for a "political revolution" in the United States.

Days after an address at George Washington University in which he rolled out his platform, Sanders brought his message of income equality to "Fox News Sunday."

"If we're going to bring about real change in this country ... we need fundamental change. We need a political revolution," Sanders told host Chris Wallace.

Sanders pointed to the growth seen by the wealthy, in contrast to a decline for those less fortunate.

"In the last thirty years, the top 1 percent has seen an increase in their wealth of $21 trillion, while the bottom half of America has seen an actual decline in their wealth of some $800 billion," Sanders said.

During his GWU speech, in which he rolled out his democratic socialist platform, Sanders promoted the idea of a "21st Century Economic Bill of Rights." He said he was looking to fulfill the vision that President Franklin Roosevelt had in 1944, a year before he died. Sanders' Bill of Rights includes rights to a job with a living wage, secure retirement, health care, education, affordable housing and a clean environment.

The only way to achieve the goals of his democratic socialist agenda is for millions of people to work together.

State security forces have launched an operation in the southern parts of Galkayo town following the murder of 9 civilians on Friday night.

The mass shooting drew local and international condemnations as Somali government vows credible investigation into the tragic incident.

Galkayo has seen increasing attacks, killings and rape in the past few months as the local authorities are trying to handle the security which could undermine the ongoing efforts.

The killing of the nine people hailing from the southern regions came following the liquidation of a local security official that was claimed by al-Shabaab

Armed gang kills at least 34 in northwest Nigeria, police say
Not War on Terror, as the article refers only to bandits rather than Boko Haram, Boko Haram-linked Fulani herders, or the Shia troublemakers led by a former Sunni Al Qaeda ally who got religion. It seems that up in the Muslim part of Nigeria they all are doing their very best to reduce surplus population using any excuse that comes to hand.
[AlAhram] An armed gang killed at least 34 people in attacks on villages in northwest Nigeria, police said on Sunday, part of a wave of violence the government has blamed on bandidos.

Hundreds of people have died in the northwest region this year, adding to security problems in a country already struggling with Islamist insurgencies in the northeast and a brutal conflict between farmers and herders in central states.

The armed gang came to unprotected villages in the northwestern state of Zamfara on Friday night, killing 34 people, said Muhammed Shehu, police front man for the state.

People from the village told Rooters the attackers escaped.

"We heard gunshots and saw people running for shelter, chased by men on cycle of violences," said Shehu Shinkafi.

"We immediately took cover in a house nearby, and after the bandidos were done with their killing spree they moved to a nearby village," he said, adding he counted 12 bodies in his village alone.

The gang left without any resistance as there were no security agents in the area, and it was only after the massacre that police arrived hours later, Shinkafi and two other witnesses said.

Libya's Al-Sarraj proposes peace gathering to end crisis
[Libya Observer] The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj, has proposed an initiative of seven points that aims to end the current crisis in the country.

Al-Sarraj proposed in a presser on Sunday in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
holding a Libyan Gathering "Multaqa" that will be sponsored by and coordinated with the UNSMIL, in order to gather all Libyan parties that advocate for peace, democracy and stability, excluding those who advocate for dictatorship and have had Libyan blood on their hands.

Al-Sarraj said the initiative comes despite the fact that the Libyan Army forces and the Operation Volcano of Rage forces are defeating the attacking forces of Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
on the outskirts of Tripoli.

"The gathering should see Libyan parties agreeing on a roadmap for the upcoming phase along with the constitutional basis so Libyans can hold elections for their parliament and president before the end of 2019." al-Sarraj remarked.

He also announced forming a committee specialized in law in order to enact the needed laws for the agreed upon points in the upcoming gathering, adding that there will be joint committees formed with the UN to work in different areas in Libya to ensure all necessary equipment for elections and constitution events are delivered to people.

"There will be different committees as part of the initiative, including those who ensure transparency, advocate for comprehensive national reconciliation, punishment of war criminals and other matters." al-Sarraj further added.

He hailed the sacrifices of the fighters on the frontlines who have been able to hold back and defeat Haftar's attacking forces who wish to establish military and totalitarian rule in the country.

"I hereby talk to the Libyan people in eastern Libya and ask them to be careful because history is writing down our stances, so they should make public their rejection to tyranny and aggressions. I tell the silent majority of them "enough killing of our young people; enough funerals." al-Sarraj indicated.

of attacks on oil tankers in a vital Gulf shipping channel, adding he "won't hesitate" to tackle any threats to the kingdom, according to an interview published on Sunday.

Two tankers were struck by explosions on Thursday in the Gulf of Oman, the second attack in a month in the strategic shipping lane amid a tense United States-Iran standoff, sparking fears of a regional conflagration and sending oil prices soaring.

"We do not want a war in the region... But we won't hesitate to deal with any threat to our people, our illusory sovereignty, our territorial integrity and our vital interests," Prince Mohammed told pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat, in his first public comments since the attacks.

"The Iranian regime did not respect the presence of the Japanese prime minister as a guest in Tehran and responded to his (diplomatic) efforts by attacking two tankers, one of which was Japanese."

The prince also accused "Iran and its proxies" over May 12 attacks on four tankers anchored in the Gulf of Oman off the United Arab Emirates port of Fujairah.

Thursday's attack on two tankers ‐ the Japanese-owned Kokuka Courageous that was carrying highly flammable methanol when it was rocked by explosions and the Norwegian-operated Front Altair ‐ came around the time Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was meeting with Iranian leaders in Tehran.

Turkey Says Observation Post Attacked from Syria Regime Area
If Turkey didn’t have a manned observation post within Syria’s borders, annoying as sand in an oyster, Syria would not be fighting to get rid of it...
[AnNahar] One of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor...
's observation posts was hit by shelling from an area controlled by Syrian government forces in northwestern Syria, the Ottoman Turkish defense ministry said on Sunday.

There were no casualties but the ministry said equipment was damaged in the assault while Ottoman Turkish forces "immediately retaliated with heavy weapons."

Shelling and mortar fire "understood to be deliberate" fired from Tall Bazan region held by Syrian regime forces hit the post in Murak region, the ministry said in a statement.

The assault comes less than four days after three Ottoman Turkish soldiers were hit in another attack Turkey said was "deliberate" on another observation post on Thursday.

Two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were hurt in May in a similar attack blamed on Damascus.

Turkey has 12 military observation posts in Idlib, northwestern Syria, the last bastion of jihadist forces, in a bid to prevent a large-scale offensive in the region.

Ankara fears such an assault would push hundreds of thousands of refugees into Turkey.

Ottoman Turkish officials made representations to Russia about the latest attack, the ministry said. Moscow provides support to the Syrian regime of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Light of the Alawites...
Despite being on opposing sides in the war, Moscow and Ankara, which backs rebels, have worked closely to seek a political solution and in September agreed a buffer zone deal.

The deal was meant to protect Idlib from a major regime assault but was never fully implemented, as jihadists refused to withdraw from the planned demilitarized zone.

Damascus and Moscow have upped their bombardment in the region since late April, killing over 360 civilians, according to UK-based monitor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Russia announced a ceasefire in the province on Wednesday but Turkey said a complete ceasefire had not yet been secured.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
With a Huge Punitive Damage Award, the Oberlin Verdict Becomes Even More Meaningful
[NATIONALREVIEW] First, while the facts of the case were egregious, they were not unique. In the Oberlin case, students accused the plaintiffs ‐ owners of Gibson’s Food Market and Bakery ‐ of racism and racial profiling after police arrested three students for attempting to steal wine and then physically attacking an employee who tried to stop the theft. The students later pled guilty to multiple criminal counts.

Students immediately launched protests of the bakery and created and disseminated flyers declaring the bakery "a RACIST establishment with a LONG ACCOUNT of RACIAL PROFILING and DISCRIMINATION," and that a member of the Oberlin community "was assaulted" by its owner. These claims were false. The evidence at trial showed that employees and administrators helped publish and distribute the false flyer, including by disseminating it to the media. The college also suspended its business relationship with the bakery.

Anyone who’s spent any time dealing with campus controversies knows that activist administrators often help, support, and even direct the activities of radical students. Some administrators seem to view campus activism as part of the educational process itself, a rite of passage that helps prepare them for a lifetime of political engagement. In my litigation days, I’ve seen multiple instances where administrators help activists formulate messages, plan protests, and provide university resources to favored activists.

When activists are engaged in constitutionally protected speech, there is absolutely no legal problem with this kind of university engagement. When, however, student activists are spreading outright lies and violating the law, university engagement becomes extraordinarily risky.
Stay Updated with NR Daily

Second, the size of the jury award will create a legal market for litigation. There’s a relatively simple reason why campus free-speech codes proliferated well before there was a concerted legal counterattack ‐ money. It takes money to sue universities, and First Amendment cases simply don’t yield eye-popping jury awards. It took the creation of large networks of nonprofit, pro-bono lawyers to turn the free-speech tide on campus.

Common-law torts are different. Plaintiffs can receive real compensation, and universities have deep pockets. In a radio interview yesterday, I compared the verdict to the kind of sound that causes prairie dogs to stand alert ‐ suddenly, lawyers are paying attention:

It is true that vexatious defamation suits can be used to punish lawful speakers, but many states have erected statutory guardrails to protect defendants against frivolous litigation. In addition, the First Amendment properly provides extremely robust protection for speech directed at public figures such as politicians, celebrities, and journalists. The fact remains, however, that outrage campaigns are often built on lies, and that when adults irresponsibly or maliciously spread those lies, the law has long provided a remedy.

Critics are already decrying the "chilling effect" of the Oberlin verdict. To the extent that the verdict causes activist administrators to pause and consider the underlying veracity and merit of the public campaigns they’re asked to join, then this is one chilling effect that may well do some good.

Eyewitnesses said Saturday that the airstrikes nearby the National Heart Center in Tajoura caused considerable damage to civilian houses, and car accidents on the road due to the panic caused by the bombing.

Mayor of Tajoura Hussein bin Attiyah said Haftar's Air Force raids targeted a densely-populated area in the center of Tajoura.

He said several houses were damaged and four coppers were maimed, adding that the airstrikes hit also a police training institution, a clinic, and a mosque.

In the meantime, the head of emergency and crisis committee of the Health Ministry Fauzi Awnis denounced the airstrikes and rendered them as violations of local and international laws.

Awnis said the windows of the National Heart Center in Tajoura were shattered and some of its compartments were damaged due to the airstrikes.

Sudan's Bashir appears before prosecutor
[DAWN] Fallen Sudanese leader Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
was Sunday seen in public for the first time since being ousted, as he was driven in an armed convoy to the prosecutor's office.

The former strongman, who ruled his east African nation with an iron fist for three decades, was toppled on April 11 after weeks of protests against his reign.

Dressed in a white traditional robe and turban, Bashir rode in a heavily-armed convoy from the notorious Kober prison in the Sudanese capital Khartoum to be quizzed by prosecutors for alleged corruption.

Prosecutor Alaeddin Dafallah told news hounds after Bashir left the office that the ousted president had been informed that he was facing charges of "possessing foreign currency, corruption and receiving gifts illegally."

Meanwhile,

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Field Fires in Syria's Hasakeh Kill 10
[AnNahar] Fires engulfing vital wheat fields across Syria's northeast have killed at least 10 people, a war monitor said Sunday, as Kurdish authorities claim the blazes were set deliberately.

Kurdish authorities and the Damascus regime are competing to buy up this year's harvest as fires -- some claimed by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group -- continue to scorch crops in the country's breadbasket.

The victims included civilians and members of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces who died while trying to extinguish the blazes since Saturday, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The fires in the Kurdish-majority province of Hasakeh also maimed another five people, according to a front man for the Kurdish Red Islamic Thingy.

"The victims were trying to douse the blaze but they were trapped by the fire," Kamal Derbas said.

Kurdish officials have called on the US-led coalition to help extinguish blazes in the cereal and oil-rich region under their control.

"The largest fires have ravaged up to 350,000 hectares of land," head of the Kurdish agriculture authority Salman Baroudo told AFP.

He claimed the fires were "deliberate", saying they serve to "stir up strife between area residents and undermine the Kurdish administration" in the country's northeast.

He did not specify who he believed was behind the blazes.

The official state news agency SANA on Saturday blamed the field fires in Hasakeh on Kurdish-led forces.

It said they deliberately sparked a blaze to prevent local farmers from selling their crops to the government.

Analysts say wheat will be key to ensuring affordable bread prices and keeping the peace in various parts of the country in the coming period.

Farmers have separately blamed the fires on Dire Revenge attacks, sparks from low-quality fuel, and even carelessness.

SANA said Saturday that other field fires in the northwestern countryside of Hama province were sparked by jihadist artillery attacks.

Clashes in the area on Saturday between government forces and bandidos Death Eaters left dozens of combatants dead, including 26 pro-regime fighters, the Observatory said.

#2  They're not going to taper off. This is going to end one of two ways: China finally kills its golden goose (which is what I think is most likely) or China decides to back off and pretend to respect its treaty obligations for another couple of years while it tries to find its footing and maybe wait out Trump's trade war.

#4  Agreed they will have to find a way out of this without destroying HK's economic impact. It might go away for a year or two, but China will be back. I expect to see selected targeting of the organizers of this event. They will all disappear as they have embarrassed the Chinese government, a sin worse than war. Once the organizers are gone, they will move back in to control HK. Like the scorpion and the frog, China cant help itself...

Home Front: WoT
Hezbollah Isn’t Just in Beirut. It’s in New York, Too.
Hattip Instapundit. Here’s the beginning — go read the entire, very long thing.
[ForeignPolicy] In recent years, Hezbollah has stepped up its activities beyond Leb’s borders. This uptick has been clearest in the Middle East‐in Iraq, Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, and especially Syria‐but plots have also been thwarted in South America, Asia, Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
, and now, possibly, the United States.

Reports of Hezbollah activity in North America are not new, though such reporting tends to focus on the group’s fundraising, money laundering, procurement, or other logistical activities from Vancouver to Miami. But last month, the criminal prosecution and conviction in New York of the Hezbollah operative Ali Kourani revealed disturbing new information about the extent of Hezbollah’s operations and activities in the United States and Canada.

Taken together, the arrests in 2017 of Kourani and another Hezbollah operative, Samer el-Debek, led the U.S. intelligence community to revisit its longstanding assessment that Hezbollah would be unlikely to attack the U.S. homeland unless the group perceived Washington to be taking action threatening its existence or that of its patron‐Iran. Following Kourani and Debek’s arrests, the director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center said in October 2017, "It’s our assessment that Hezbollah is determined to give itself a potential homeland option as a critical component of its terrorism playbook."

At the time, little of the underlying information leading to this new assessment had been made public, but on May 16, a New York jury returned guilty verdicts on all counts in the indictment against Kourani, including terrorist charges related to his surveillance of FBI and U.S. Secret Service offices, as well as a U.S. Army armory, all in New York City. (Debek has yet to stand trial.)

Kourani carried out other operational activities as a long-term sleeper agent, acting on behalf of Hezbollah’s external attack-planning component, the Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
Organization (IJO), such as identifying Israelis in New York who could be targeted by Hezbollah and finding people from whom he could procure arms that Hezbollah could stockpile in the area.

Most of his activities occurred in the United States, but Hezbollah also sent Kourani to China, where the group had previously procured chemicals used to make bombs of the kind the group built in Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Thailand. The 2012 bombing in Burgas, Bulgaria, left seven people dead including the bomber and 32 maimed, and bomb-making chemicals of the same type were found in Thailand in 2012 and in Cyprus in 2012 and 2015, when plots were thwarted there. Hezbollah also sent Kourani on operational assignments to Canada. Kourani described himself in interviews with FBI agents as being part of a "sleeper cell."

"While living in the United States, Kourani served as an operative of Hezbollah in order to help the foreign terrorist organization prepare for potential future attacks against the United States," said U.S. Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers. These included buildings housing the FBI and U.S. Secret Service in Manhattan, as well as New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and a U.S. Army armory.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel PM's wife convicted of misusing public funds
Like Trump in the U.S., the Israeli deep state loathes Bibi Netanyahu, and has been hounding him and his wife through the courts on numerous pretexts for years. I think this is the first one that was not eventually thrown out as nonsense. See the Jerusalem Post article for what some would like to see as sordid details.
[DAWN] An Israeli court Sunday convicted the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of fraudulently using state funds for meals, under a plea bargain which dropped more severe charges.

While the ruling cut short a high-profile trial, the Netanyahu family's legal woes are far from over: the veteran premier himself faces possible indictment for bribery, fraud and breach of trust in the coming months.

In a deal approved by judge Avital Chen at Jerusalem magistrates' court, Sara Netanyahu was found guilty of using the errors of government accounting staff to bypass spending restrictions.

She was fined 10,000 shekels ($2,800) and ordered to reimburse the state a further 45,000 shekels.

Sara Netanyahu - How Did Seven Cases Turn Into A Mere Nis 55,000 Fine?

[Jpost] There were so many "gates:" Bottlegate, Furniture Gate, the Father Homecare Affair, Electrician Gate ‐ and the list goes on.

How on earth did those seven potential cases against Sara Netanyahu get reduced to a conviction for a crime that barely sounds like a crime ‐ exploiting someone else’s mistaken misuse of state funds ‐ and a meager NIS 55,000?

As with many misunderstandings about the cases against the Netanyahu family ‐ misunderstandings both on the Right and the Left ‐ much of the answer comes from separating the law from politics.

From a political perspective, every one of the affairs had the stench of an empress and her husband, the emperor, who are so used to being in office and for so long, that she or they start to feel entitled and start dropping barriers between their money/needs and the state’s money/needs.

"Bottlegate" was maybe the worst example of this.

It referred to allegations that Sara Netanyahu may have improperly turned in deposit bottles in exchange for NIS 4,000 cash, though the bottles were bought with state funds.

Using state funds to buy bottles and then turning them in to make a profit is about as cheap as you can get, and just comes off horribly politically.

But already back in 2015, The Jerusalem Post had surveyed a range of experts, none of whom believed Bottlegate could possibly carry criminal charges ‐ because Jacob Weinroth, who was part of Netanyahu’s legal team until his death in 2018, was the first to raise the defense that it can be irrelevant who bought the bottles, since both the bottle buyer and the collector who turns them in are legally entitled to receipt of funds.

Meaning Netanyahu was due the money since she "collected" the bottles.

Shmuel Saadia, a lawyer, author and expert in criminal law dealing with public officials, said that, "there is no obligation for individuals to return" the bottles in the first place, so there can be no crime related to who or how they are returned.

In the worst case scenario, he said that even if someone made "an absurd interpretation" of the law to try to ensnare Netanyahu, she could claim to have "made a good-faith mistake."

And Bottlegate was only over NIS 4,000, which would never had led to an indictment because the amount was so small.

"Furniture Gate" refers to accusations of purchasing furniture with state funds for the prime minister’s private residence in Caesarea.

According to the allegations, the furniture was nominally purchased for the official public residence, but then Mrs. Netanyahu moved the new items to the couple’s private Caesarea residence, while replacing them at the public residence with older ones.

Eventually, all or most of the furniture was returned, and the details of what was moved when ‐ and to what extent she knew that this was illegal as opposed to merely being tacky ‐ made the case very blurry.

In the "Father Homecare Affair," Netanyahu allegedly misused state funds to cover homecare for her father.

Once again, the amounts at stake were tiny, the circumstances were confusing ‐ and who really wanted to prosecute her for taking care of her father, who died not long after the homecare he was given?

At the end of the day, the only case which Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit believed met the high standard of being able to convict her beyond a reasonable doubt was the "Prepared Food Affair."

There, NIS 359,000 was at stake and Netanyahu had allegedly ordered other senior and junior prime minister’s office officials to falsify documents to cover-up the misuses of state funds.

There was significant documentary evidence, and Netanyahu could be portrayed as poisoning the public servants around her.

So how come the state did not go the distance and get a much larger fine and a conviction for fraud?

First, NIS 55,000 is not the only relevant number. There is also NIS 175,000 that the state can still sue her for in civil court as part of the plea deal.

In civil court, the standard of proof is much lower. That means that if the number is down to NIS 175,000, then the NIS 359,000 was inflated ‐ and that in criminal court, the real number the state could prove would probably have been somewhere between NIS 175,000 and NIS 55,000.

What was the state’s problem in terms of evidence?

Many of the documents related to state functions where foreign visitors were hosted. While Netanyahu may have broken a regulation by using both the Prime Minister’s Office chef and ordering prepared food, if the beneficiaries were foreign dignitaries, that is hardly criminal.

And there was Meni Naftali, her house manager for part of the time period she was accused of fraud.

Naftali was a key witness for the state and this was a problem, because he was an unstable witness who had admitted that he himself abused state funds.

So Netanyahu could drop at least some of the abuse of state funds on him.

State witnesses are often problematic, because they are often involved in the crime, which is why they are able to reveal the crime’s details.

But there are state witnesses who can be relied on to keep their story straight and stay on message in court, and Naftali was not one of those.

Once the NIS 175,000 was reduced further and the defense did its best to present a narrative of Netanyahu being confused about what was hers and what was the state’s, the chances were that she would not be getting jail time. As it was, Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court president Avital Chen bizarrely split the NIS 55,000 into 11 payments, showing that he had sympathy for her position.

If she was not getting jail time, what was the point of a long, expensive and hold-no-prisoners trial? Just to get a fine that would still fall far short of NIS 175,000 ‐ when that money could be gone after in civil court?

So the prosecution’s only option was to deal.

With a defendant like Sara Netanyahu, who took four years to even admit to the lowest of crimes, the deal the state ended up getting really might be the best it could have gotten.

Up to $5 billion smuggled to Iran from Afghanistan in 2018: official
We’ve seen reports like this before — I seem to recall an incident when they were transporting the money in trash bags, there was so much wandered off with.
[KhaamaPress] A bigwig has confirmed up to 5 billion U.S. Dollars were smuggled to Iran

The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. from Afghanistan during the year 2018.

The official speaking on the condition of anonymity has told BBC’s Afghanistan service that the U.S. Dollars are being smuggled through official channels.

The official further added that the authorities have received credible financial information in this regard.

This comes as the issue of the smuggling of U.S. Dollars to Iran from Afghanistan has became a hot topic following the revival of U.S. sanctions on Iran.

According to reports, billions of U.S. Dollars are being smuggled to Iran each year which helps the Iranian regime maintain a financial balance against the imposed sanctions.

Meanwhile,
...back at the chili cook-off, Chuck reached for the green sauce...
two Iranian educational institutes are operational in the country which according to reports receive payments in U.S. Dollars or Euros only.

The bordering regions between Afghanistan and Iran has long been used for the smuggling of human and drugs but the smugglers have also resorted to smuggling of Dollars during the recent years.

This comes as the Afghan government prohibits the transportation of cash amounting more than 10 thousand U.S. Dollars and demand trade documents for amounts exceeding $10 thousand.

Reports regarding the smuggling of U.S. Dollars emerge as the rate of Afghanis against each U.S. Dollar has reached to 80 in open markets which is considered historical for the past 20 years.

I meant that sources should differ from the usual twitter riff-raff and have a separate platform, something whose credibility can be defined from the ground up. If I expose my NSA sealed files on twitter tomorrow, I look like another conspiracy nut looking for attention. So the credibility starts at a low number from the get go, even if my intel's good, no ? murderous Moslems to sneak into Samarra city in Salahuddin province, where they planned to carry out terrorist attacks.

In a statement carried by Alsumaria News TV channel, the Samarra Operations Command of the Shiite Saraya al-Salam said that "it received intelligence information on a plot by IS faceless myrmidons to infiltrate into al-Madarat city in Samarra on board six boats."

The militiamen, according to the statement, shot up the IS faceless myrmidons and forced them to retreat.

Here's a foreign policy think tank openly advocating the use of false flag tactics in order to create a pretext to attack Iran.
Remember the Maine!
Golly. A bunch of thinkers tossing ideas around back in 2012, when Barack Obama, who loved his deal with Iran, was president. Not exactly a smoking gun.

#14  "Our young men and women in the military serving in the Strait of Hormuz, putting their lives in danger are being mischarachterized and trashed by this cockroach at Rantburg?????"

Who said this? This is a DC think tank.

Frank G back on the bottom of the pyramid of debate with name calling instead of arguments.

"We've also never scraped them off the map for 1979."

Uhm, Jimmy Carter met with Ayatollah Khomeini and approved the revolution. Khomeini pinky swore not to be hostile to the USA afterwards. Did we not know this? Mr. Human Rights Carter didn't like the Shah, a staunch US ally. Boy, do you people seriously not know this?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Carter%27s_engagement_with_Khomeini

This video just goes to show DC elites have been chomping at the bit for a war with Iran for a long time. Obama did a deal with them instead of a war, the neocons had to be pissed.

It's the ease with which they throw around these ideas, really. You'd expect using a false flag attack as a casus belli to start a war with Iran to be utterly repugnant, or if not then top secret, not bantered around casually.

A false flag incident to start a war with Iran has been within the Overton Window of DC for years. PNAC called for starting a war with Saddam in 1996, Albright in 1998. Did we not know this either? Things don't happen overnight.

War will come when one or the other side decide the time has come, not because of any false flag operation or overreaction to or intentional misinterpretation of an event.

#18  Herb,

You apparently saw 1979 and let your mind go someplace weird. I said we never scraped them off the map FOR 1979, when they invaded our Embassy, committing to what had been the standard up to that point, an act of war. To my mind, since the first foot crossed the threshhold of our embassy, we have been at war with Iran. We haven't been bothered to exterminate them yet, but at whatever point we choose to do so, the reason has already been given.
Posted by: Silentbrick || 06/17/2019 15:16 Comments || Top||

#19  Meh. This war came in 1979 and never left — we just haven’t yet started fighting back. In fact, Jimmy Carter tried to surrender when he was president, and Barack Obama was actively on the enemy’s side. If there were to be a false flag operation — though if we did such a thing it would be against our own equipment, not that of various powerless third parties — it would only mark the beginning of what should have been done in 1980 or 1983 or any time since 2003... or a number of other occasions in between.

But Iran’s Mad Mullah’s continue to be generous im providing the real thing. It was only a few years ago, on January 12, 2016 that Iran stopped two American boats in the Gulf, detaining ten sailors — a casus belli wrapped up in a pretty bow. Any discussion in 2012 would have had the reality of President Obama’s craven response in mind — and we have it all in our archives starting here.

A pity that Allah did not allow a repeat performance the other day, but if we are patient and good Iran will provide a perfectly legitimate excuse to rain hell down upon them soon enough.

#25  What I don't understand is there has been at least two times when the people were in the streets of Iran, seemingly against the government, and we apparently did nothing. I'm not sure what we could have done but it would seem to have been better to help the people than some false flag idiocy that McCoy is on about.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syria flare-up kills 35 fighters,10 civilians
[DAWN] At least 10 civilians and 35 combatants, mostly pro-regime forces, were killed on Saturday in festivities and air strikes that erupted at dawn in northwestern Syria, a war monitor said.

The flare-up came as Russian-backed regime forces tried to retake two villages seized by jihadists and allied rebels earlier this month, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

"Since this morning, the Syrian regime and allied fighters have launched five failed attempts to regain control of Jibine and Tal Maleh in northwestern Hama province," said Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman.

Syrian regime air strikes killed nine jihadists and rebel fighters, the war monitor said.

Ensuing festivities in the north of Hama province left 26 pro-regime forces dead, including eight who were killed in a mine explosion, the Observatory said.

In neighbouring Idlib, regime air strikes killed 10 civilians, including three children, the Observatory said.

The strikes hit the towns of Maaret al-Numan and al-Bara as well as the village of al-Ftira, according to the war monitor.

The Idlib region of some three million people is supposed to be protected from a massive regime offensive by a buffer zone deal that Russia and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
signed in September.

But it was never fully implemented, as jihadists refused to withdraw from a planned demilitarised zone.

In January, the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
alliance led by Syria’s former Al Qaeda affiliate extended its administrative control over the region, which includes most of Idlib province as well as adjacent slivers of Latakia, Hama and Aleppo provinces.

Africa Horn
Nine civilians killed in Galkayo mass shooting
[RADIOSHABELLE] Gunmen have rubbed out nine people in Galkayo on Friday night in what is being described as "Dire Revenge" attack.

Another person who is believed to be a security official was killed in a separate incident in the southern city.

Somali Information minister, Mohammed Hayir Mareye has condemned the act.

Security agencies were conducting an investigation and expected to give details of what caused the killings.

Citizens and politicians alike have taken to the social media in their strong condemnation of the heinous attack.

Former Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has called upon security agencies to bring to book those responsible for the attack.

"It is very sad to hear the death of ten people in Galkacyo in one night, I strongly condemn the heinous act and send my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the victims, " he said.

"I call upon the Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
authorities and Galkayo residents to cooperate in the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators." He added.

Somali police arrest suspect in Mogadishu car bombing
[RADIOSHABELLE] Somalia police confirmed the arrest of a suspect following a vehicle-borne improvised bomb (VBIED) attack in Mogadishu on Saturday.

Zakia Hussein, deputy police commander confirmed that no one was injured in the attack. The VBIED went off near the security checkpoint at KM4 junction.

"The driver of the VBIED has been apprehended and there were no casualties resulting from the blast," Hussein said in a statement.

She said another separate VBIED went off near Sayid Junction, and promised to provide more details concerning the attack, the latest in the restive capital, Mogadishu.

No group has grabbed credit for the two latest attacks in Mogadishu but krazed killer group, al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
which is fighting to overthrow the government, usually stages such deadly attacks in the Horn of Africa nation.

The move comes while Mogadishu is on high alert as police forces blocked the main roads of the capital to prevent possible attacks by the Death Eaters.

Somali National Army (SNA) backed by African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Mission in Somalia have driven al-Shabaab Death Eaters out of Mogadishu, but the terror group is still capable of conducting attacks, targeting government installations, hotels, restaurants and public places.
