Scientists extract yeast from ancient pottery, recreate 5,000-year-old beer
h/t Instapundit
When researchers in Israel examined fragments of clay jars used to house beer and mead several thousand years ago, they discovered colonies of yeast hiding in the shards' nano-sized pores.

To help them extract the long-dormant yeast, scientists recruited the help of winemakers with experience aging wine in clay pots.

Schiff: Declassifying Crossfire Hurricane Data Is "Un-American"
[Hot Air] Transparency is un-American? Donald Trump’s executive order granting William Barr the authority to declassify evidence and documents related to the origins of Operation Crossfire Hurricane might present opportunities for reasonable criticism. A lack of patriotism would not be among those issues, and yet that’s where House Intelligence chair Adam Schiff immediately went:

U.S. Beer Industry Blames Trump Tariffs for 40,000 Job Losses
[Yahoo] The U.S. beer industry is blaming a jobs hangover on the Trump administration’s tariffs.

A report by two trade groups showed U.S. beer-industry jobs dropped 40,000 since 2016 as metal tariffs boosted aluminum-can costs, leading to a drop in investment. The biennial study by the Beer Institute and National Beer Wholesalers Association said direct, indirect and induced jobs fell to 2.19 million in 2018 from 2.23 million in 2016.

The shipping and logistics charge for delivering aluminum to the U.S. Midwest, known as the “premium,” more than doubled as Trump slapped a 10% tariff on imports of the metal. Molson Coors Brewing Co. estimated last year that the levies would create a $40 million hit to its bottom line.

Still, tariffs may not be the only thing hurting employment in the industry. Total cases of beer, wine and spirits consumed in the U.S. dropped 0.8% in 2018, the third consecutive year of declined, according to a report from IWSR, which studies the beverage market. The main culprit is the beer slump, with consumption down 1.5% as more drinkers gravitated to spirits and wine.

#3  The main culprit is the beer slump, with consumption down 1.5% as more drinkers gravitated to spirits and wine.

A Beer Industry spokeswoman said Thursday in a statement that while the group can’t say tariffs are “100% to blame,” the evidence “supports that brewers are making fewer investments because of the added cost of aluminum.”

No mention of actual can cost figures, you have to ask why. Plus the growing craft brewers companies, I'm willing to bet the corn syrup beers boys are feeling the hurt.

All the crap big brewers insert, serves them right. Example, decades ago Hamms brewery included a radioactive isotope to ensure a large foam head.

The results of German Beer Purity Law, Reinheitsgebot, makes for healthier, better taste.

#16  The slump has more to do with the rise in craft beers that are locally made and distributed in bottles and the beer companies being sold out of country. This slump coincides with the major beer manufacturer, Budweiser, being sold to a foreign country and their shift in marketing to social justice warriors. Go to the local pub and you will find a number of beer drinkers, now drinking PBR or craft beers, that have sworn off all things Budweiser-permanently. They forget the sports lovers and beer drinkers across America don't watch Soccer, they buy American, and don't spend money with companies that call them bigots.

NASA executive quits weeks after appointment to lead 2024 moon landing plan
[Yahoo] Mark Sirangelo, named six weeks ago as special assistant to NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, left the agency as NASA abandoned a reorganization plan due to a chilly reception on Capitol Hill, Bridenstine said in a statement.

Two individuals close to the space program and familiar with the situation said Sirangelo was escorted out of NASA's headquarters in Washington on Wednesday after his resignation.

His departure came after lawmakers rejected NASA's proposal to create a separate directorate within the space agency to oversee future lunar missions and ultimately develop human exploration of Mars.

Over 70 retired military leaders sign letter urging Trump against war with Iran
[The Hill] More than 70 retired military leaders wrote an open letter to President Trump urging him to avoid war with Iran.

The former Armed Forces leaders advised Trump in a letter published Thursday in War on the Rocks to take "crisis de-escalation measures."

"As President and Commander-in-Chief, you have considerable power at your disposal to immediately reduce the dangerous levels of regional tension," they wrote. "Crisis de-escalation measures should be established with the Iranian leadership at the senior levels of government as a prelude to exploratory diplomacy on matters of mutual concern."

They added that diplomacy, not armed conflict would be best for U.S. interests.

"The protection of U.S. national interests in the Middle East and the safety of our friends and allies requires thoughtful statesmanship and aggressive diplomacy rather than unnecessary armed conflict," they wrote.

They wrote that escalation measures taken by both sides "are highly concerning and make for a potentially deadly confrontation."

Tensions with Iran escalated in recent weeks, particularly after the administration sent a carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the Middle East amid what officials called "troubling and escalatory indications and warnings" from Iran that had not been publicly identified.

Trump said Friday that he would send about 1,500 troops to the Middle East to counter Iran's influence.

According to War on the Rocks, which covers foreign policy and national security issues, the letter was coordinated by the American College of National Security Leaders, which is a group of retired admirals, generals, ambassadors and senior government executives .

#10  Is it war if you just bomb the sh*t of their infrastructure?

Some years back, I read about a bomb designed to target power plants and sub-stations. Essentially a giant party popper full of conductive tinsel that draped over the wires and shorted everything out. No blast damage, but it would shut down the power grid.

My google-fu must be weak because I can't find anything about them.

#12  This is just crap. In every military there are generals that would rather surrender than defend. They begged the US president for concessions to Germany, Japan, and the British. Iran has escalated this to beyond and ability for it to not go to war. Saudi and the UAE have joint bases, Israel is allowed overflights, this is all lining up for a middle east war. Our President knows Iran has a formidable military, compared to the rest of the middle east. Our involvement will be to support, and insure victory, ridding the world of these viscous leaders.

We don't need a full war with an invasion, but any aggression and deprivation of the freedom of navigation should bring a very swift and heavy blow to the leadership of Iran and make it very difficult to keep the population in check.

Thanks for finding this, Skid. We get by with a little help from our friends.

Judge Blocks Mississippi ‘Heartbeat' Abortion Law
[Breitbart] A federal judge has temporarily blocked a Mississippi law that bans abortions once a fetal heartbeat can be detected, usually at the sixth or seventh week of pregnancy.
The law was scheduled to go into effect July 1.

"Here we go again," wrote U.S. District Judge Carlton W. Reeves, an Obama-era appointee, in his opinion. "Mississippi has passed another law banning abortions prior to viability."

The judge noted the same plaintiffs had successfully challenged Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban last year.

Satellite Images Reveal: Iran Building Border Crossing To Smuggle Weapons
[Jpost] New strategic border crossing being built at the al-Bukamal crossing between Iraq and Syria

Iran is building a border crossing between Iraq and Syria that will allow the smuggling of weapons new satellite images have revealed, raising concerns that it could could expedite the transfer of weapons from Tehran to groups like Hezbollah.

The images, taken by ImageSat International (ISI) this past week, allegedly shown construction activity of permanent infrastructure 2.6 kms west of the official Al Bukamal al-Qaim border crossing between the two countries.

While the border crossing has been inactive, the area is under the control of pro-Iranian Shiite militias who are handled by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corp’s Quds force and have been putting in work and resources into building a new active one.

In one image a new wide square measuring 270x165 meters has been under construction for the past three months and will probably be used as a storage compound for vehicles, equipment and possibly weapons.

A neighboring structure was said to have been built at the end of 2018.

In another image a site is seen flattened inside a compound probably controlled by Iran’s Shiite militias. The site was bombed on June 18 2018 and debris has since been removed. Two weeks later an Iranian intelligence delegation and the deputy leader from the Iraqi Shiite Popular Mobilization Committee militia Abu Mahdi Muhandis visited the site.

The new infrastructures, which cross the border, will probably serve to transfer equipment, civilian as well as military, such as weapons.

According to ISI’s assessment, "tithout Syrian supervision, Iranian allies in Leb and Syria such as Hezbollah get a logistic channel, run by the Shiite militias and Iran," ISI said, adding that "the foundation is part of the Iranian effort to establish the 1200 km length land bridge from Tehran to the Mediterranean."

Both Israel and the US have warned that Iran and their proxy militias are the biggest threats to peace in the region and hope to weaken Iran’s growing influence across the Middle East and Persian Gulf.

Considered as the head of a snake, Israel has warned repeatedly that it would not allow for an Iranian presence in Syria and has admitted to hundreds of Arclight airstrikes to prevent the transfer of weapons such as ammunition to surface-to-air missile kits to Hezbollah in Leb the entrenchment of its forces on the Golan.

It is believed that Iran will attempt to entrench itself in Iraq, a mainly Shia Moslem country, as it did in Syria where they have managed to establish, shape and consolidate a solid parallel security structure in the country.

While there have been no reports of strikes in Iraq attributed to Israel, the Jewish State is reported to be behind an airstrike on the Syrian-Iraqi border last year near al-Bukamal which killed 22 members of a Shiite militia.

Iraqi troops have been working with the Hashd al-Shaabi (also known as Popular Mobilization Forces) militia fighters in the fight against IS murderous Moslems in the country. The PMF, militias who were incorporated into Iraq’s security apparatus in 2016 to fight against the Islamic State

Wildfire near Beit She’an spreads across border into Jordan
[IsraelTimes] Firefighters contain blaze in northern Jordan Valley in second day of raging wildfires fed by tinder dry conditions; Authorities suspect massive fire ignited by arsonists.

One of the wildfires raging across the country amid a major heatwave on Friday spread across the border into Jordan overnight, according to reports in Hebrew and Arabic-language media.

Firefighters struggled to contain the blaze that broke out in the Ramat Sirin area in the northern Jordan Valley, put it out until early Saturday morning. But the flames had already spread across the border into Jordan, where firefighters were dispatched to battle the flames.

Route 90, the main north-south highway traversing the Jordan Valley, that was closed most of the afternoon and evening due to the fire, was reopened to traffic.

According to Channel 12, the fire department suspects that arsonists ignited the blaze north of the city of Beit She’an.

As of Saturday morning, nearly all of the hundreds of fires that ravaged Israel in recent days were under control, though authorities were bracing for renewed fires over the weekend amid sweltering temperatures.

Fueled by the scorching weather, hundreds of fires devastated towns and forests, forcing thousands people out of their homes on Thursday and Friday. Authorities investigating the fires were looking into electrical faults, Lag B’Omer holiday bonfires, arson and incendiary balloons from the Gazoo Strip.

three residents of East Jerusalem on suspicion of arson on Friday. Each of the men is suspected of attempting to start fires in and around Jerusalem separate incidents over the last two days.

At an emergency briefing, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had appealed for international help to combat the fires, and that aid has arrived from Greece, Croatia, Italia, Egypt and Cyprus.

Israel "really appreciates" the help, Netanyahu said, singling out Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi for pitching in with two helicopters. He added that several others, including Russia and the Paleostinian Authority in the West Bank, offered aid.

I am deeply thankful for the readiness of neighbors to help us in a time of crisis, just as we help them," Netanyahu said.

3,500 people were evacuated from towns and dozens of homes were torched Thursday as brushfires raged across the country. Over 500 acres of woodland have burned, said Nitai Zecharya, a Jewish National Fund official.

In the village of Mevo Modi’im, 40 of the 50 homes in the community in central Israel burned down. The nearby Kibbutz Harel was also particularly hard hit. Residents of the two communities have not been allowed to return home.

Zecharya said that while firefighters had brought most of the blaze under control, officials remained "very stressed" about strong winds fanning flames and "spreading fires to other fronts."

A high temperature of 116ºF (47ºC) was recorded at the village of Beit Haarava, near the Dead Sea, late Friday afternoon.

Temperatures had begun to drop gradually beginning Friday night.

16 Gazans said hurt in weekly border clashes
[IsraelTimes] Some 4,000 Paleostinians demonstrated along the Gazoo border Friday, in an unusually low turnout for the weekly protests.

The protests were less intense than usual, according to Channel 13 news, likely due to the scorching heat wave and the Ramadan fast. Past demonstrations have numbered in the tens of thousands.

Gazoo’s Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,-run health ministry reported 16 injured by gas inhalation and rubber bullets during riots at the border, including a volunteer medic and a journalist. All were treated on the spot, according to the Walla news site.

Israeli authorities suspect that several of the fires ravaging Israel on Thursday and Friday were caused by incendiary balloons launched from the Strip, including a fire near the southern community of Moshav Yakhini which prompted the evacuation of a number of families.
The Jerusalem Post adds:
Roughly 3,000 Paleostinians clashed with IDF forces along the Gazoo Security fence during Friday March of Return protests, Maariv reported.

Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, officials are taking part in the violent festivities, which include throwing explosives on IDF soldiers and attempts to breach the fence.

Obama (another one) Judge temporarily blocks Trump border wall construction plans
[FoxNews] A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the Trump administration's plan to spend billions to construct a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border with Defense Department funds.

U.S. District Court Judge Haywood Gilliam's ruling applies to wall construction in specific areas in El Paso, Texas and Yuma, Arizona. Trump declared a national emergency in February to redirect funding from the Department of Defense to begin construction of his long-promised border wall.

"In short, the position that when Congress declines the Executive's request to appropriate funds, the Executive nonetheless may simply find a way to spend those funds "without Congress"

The CJAC report, entitled ’Walls Have Ears: An Analysis of Classified Syrian Security Sector Documents’, is the result of a pilot analysis of documents from abandoned Syrian government offices and was published last month.

The documents were secured by the SJAC when they entered abandoned facilities in Tabqa and Raqqa in 2013 and in Idlib in 2015, all places with sizeable Kurdish minorities. They claim in the report that the facilities were open and unprotected upon entry.

"We continue to work closely with the Somali government and security forces to target faceless myrmidons whose tactics place innocent people at risk," said RDML Heidi K. Berg, director of intelligence, U.S. Africa Command.

Precision airstrikes such as these support Somali security forces efforts to protect the Somali people from terrorism while creating opportunities for increased governance to take hold. al-Shabaab has previously used the rural areas surrounding Baled Amin as a staging area for attacks against Somali security forces and innocent Somali civilians.

At this time, it is assessed the airstrike killed two (2) bully boys. A detailed post-strike analysis continues and more details may be released as appropriate.

Currently, we assess no civilians were maimed or killed as a result of this airstrike. Our process and procedures allow for additional information to inform the post-strike analysis.

U.S. Africa Command will continue to work with its partners to transfer the responsibility for long-term security in Somalia from AMISOM to the Federal Government of Somalia and its Member States.

In support of the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. forces will use all effective and appropriate methods to assist in the protection of the Somali people, including partnered military counterterrorism operations with the Federal Government of Somalia, AMISOM, and Somali National Army forces.

French police hunt suitcase bomber after blast in Lyon, UPDATE: photo of miscreat revealed
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] French police were hunting a suspected suitcase bomber on Friday after an kaboom in the central city of Lyon that injured 13 people, officials said.

The suspect was captured on security video leaving a bag in front of a bakery shortly before an kaboom occurred at around 5:30 pm, police sources and local mayor Denis Broliquier said.

Most of those hurt were hospitalized for treatment to leg injuries that were described as light.

President Emmanuel Macron characterized the incident as an "attack" when the news broke during a live YouTube interview ahead of Sunday’s European elections. "My thoughts are with the injured," he said.

Gay Paree anti-terrorism prosecutors opened an investigation as police said they were treating the blast as an attempted homicide, and Interior Minister Christophe Castaner headed to the scene.

The partially masked suspect appeared in security camera footage wheeling a bicycle to the scene, before leaving a bag outside a branch of Brioche Doree, a popular bakery chain.

Police sources described the suspected attacker as a European or North African male, seen wearing beige Bermuda shorts, an army-green scarf or head wrap and dark glasses.

Soon after he left, the blast rained metal bolts on passersby in front of the premises on rue Victor Hugo, several blocks from the city's main station, according to police.
The Daily Mail reports the hunted gentleman is in his thirties, and has the usual photos and video after updating at least once.

"Those concerned and [who] want to serve the interest of the Paleostinian people should respect this collective position," he said.

On Sunday, the U.S. announced it would unroll the first phase of the long-anticipated proposal at the forum, saying it would outline the economic rewards if a peace deal were to be struck.

Special Mideast envoy Jason Greenblatt said the proposal has the "potential to unlock a prosperous future for the Paleostinians."

Erekat responded by saying, "Paleostine’s full economic potential can only be achieved by ending the Israeli occupation, respecting international law and UN resolutions."

Addressing the UN Security Council on Wednesday, Greenblatt said "it would be a mistake for the Paleostinians not to join us."

"They have nothing to lose and much to gain if they do join us. But it is, of course, their choice," said Greenblatt.

Joe Biden Reportedly Involved in Controversial Early Stages of 2016 Russia Probe
Oh dear. That doesn’t sound good for his presidential aspirations.
[BREITBART] Former Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body...
was reportedly one of the few B.O. regime officials who participated in secretive meetings during the early stages of the Obama-era intelligence community’s initial operations regarding suspected Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.

That tidbit was contained deep inside a 7,700-plus word Washington Post article published June 23, 2017 in which the newspaper also detailed the highly compartmentalized nature of the original Russia interference investigation and the manner in which other U.S. intelligence agencies were deliberately kept in the dark. Part of the efforts eventually involved unsubstantiated and ultimately discredited charges made by the Remington Christopher Steele dossier that Trump campaign officials were colluding with Russia.

Biden’s largely unreported role in the initial B.O. regime meetings on the matter of Russian interference could spark further questions now that Attorney General William Barr has appointed a U.S. attorney to investigate the origins of the Russia collusion claims.

Only last week, Barr commented that the intelligence community’s early handling of the Russia investigation may itself raise questions. He noted that it was first handled at a "very senior level" and then by a "small group."

In an interview on Fox News, Barr stated:

The thing that’s interesting about this is that this was handled at a very senior level of these departments. It wasn’t handled in the ordinary way that investigations or counterintelligence activities are conducted. It was sort of an ad hoc, small group ‐ and most of these people are no longer with the FBI or the CIA or the other agencies involved. I think there’s a misconception out there that we know a lot about what happened. The fact of the matter is, Bob Mueller did not look at the government’s activities.

Trump cites Iran threat to bypass Congress on Saudi arms sales

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo notified Congress of the decision to use an emergency loophole in the Arms Export Control Act to move ahead with sales of $7 billion in precision guided munitions, other bombs and ammunition and aircraft maintenance support to Saudi Arabia, along with the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, without politicians’ approval.

In his notification, Pompeo said he had made the determination "that an emergency exists which requires the immediate sale" of the weapons "in order to deter further the malign influence of the government of Iran throughout the Middle East region."

He said the transfers "must occur as quickly as possible in order to deter further Iranian adventurism in the Gulf and throughout the Middle East."

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the Special Unit of the Afghan National Police arrested Haji Delwar during an operation on Thursday.

The statement further added that the police forces have also confiscated some fake documents, fake vehicle registration plates, illegal weapons, 700 thousand Pak ruppees, an armored Landcruiser and a Hilux vehicle.

The Ministry of Interior also added that Haji Delwar is in police custody and an investigation is underway.

According to reports, Haji Delwar was an adviser to the chairman of the Upper House of Parliament, Senate House.

The ministry said Delwar owned fake number plates, armored vehicles, guns, and many Pak ID cards.

The statement said that Delwar "had supported and sheltered terrorists".

province had removed the tented glasses from Delwar’s armored vehicle, but the day after that the soldier was killed in an kaboom.

Rahimi said that despite other accusations, Delwar is accused of that kaboom and killing of that soldier.

Rahimi said Delwar is accused of bringing explosives to snuffies from Pakistain and locating jacket wallahs inside the country.

"Last night, Delwar was arrested by security forces in Kabul's PD12. He was transferring bombs to holy warriors from Pakistain. He was relocating suicide bombers from one place to another. He was arrested yesterday with documents and evidence," Rahimi said.

"A big number of the suicide kabooms which have taken place in Afghanistan were impossible without a helper from inside and that is the reason our intelligence does not have full control in such incidents," said Mohammad Nateqi, head of the political committee of the political parties.

group in 2017, has re-emerged following news that another university has recently revoked her provisional admission after the administration became aware of her prior history.

Though she had undergone a deradicalisation programme under the supervision of law-enforcement agencies, little is known of this process.
A bullet to the frontal lobes would work, just saying
While it would be extremely unfortunate and counterproductive if individuals who have been genuinely accountable for their actions and have repudiated murderous Moslem views were denied a second chance, the absence of public transparency regarding Ms Leghari’s reintegration into society makes it difficult to assess whether the university had legitimate concerns regarding her presence on campus.

Indeed, Pakistain has experimented with such programmes (most notably the army-led effort with gunnies in Swat) with reportedly mixed results.

Now, even with the government renewing efforts to crack down on proscribed outfits, this remains a sticking point: what are the specific plans and strategies regarding the deradicalisation and mainstreaming process?

Are there clear metrics for sorting out low-level cadres from ideological criminal masterminds, collaborators from combatants, and defining what interventions would apply accordingly?

What kind of probationary or counsellor follow-up, or other mitigating steps, are there to prevent relapses among deprogrammed ’graduates’?

And what should public or private institutions’ response be to such individuals when these details are not known to them?

As cases of former university students and graduates like Ms Leghari and Saad Aziz demonstrate, radicalisation is far more nebulous than simply ascribing it to poverty and illiteracy alone.

University campuses and online spaces alike have emerged as fertile grounds for recruiting and exploiting impressionable, disaffected young minds.

Yet though political rhetoric (particularly in the aftermath of the APS attack in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

), has always pointed to a holistic, intra-institutional counter-extremism response, the reality has been almost entirely security-centric.

Therein lies a significant gap in the country’s non-kinetic approaches so far ‐ the lack of a broad-spectrum treatment to target violent extremism at the roots and nip it in the bud.

While there must be a clear path for wayward young adults to find their way back into the mainstream and away from the purveyors of hate, this process must be fully known and owned by all stakeholders.

Moreover, it is absolutely essential ‐ and well past time ‐ to not only address but also prevent radicalisation through the development of national counter-narratives.

#2  the development of national counter-narratives

*BLEEP* national counter-narratives. What we need is a good old-fashioned marketing campaign that makes jihad an act of pure Loserdom, something to be mocked. Right now, it is something the kool kids do because fighting The Man is always heroic. It needs to be make silly. Alinsky was evil, but he wasn't wrong.

#3  People wind up on a sex offender list for life after things like being caught relieving themselves in an alley or so called "sexting." No reason a person who joined ISIS or the Taliban or any other death eater organization should not get the same treatment. I'd recommend a brand or tattoo on the forehead and death penalty for trying to hide or alter it.

#4  Exactly. You make a choice and live with the consequences.

There was a project DAR under consideration though. It's supposed to be hush-hush and the govt. must now deny it. It forces muslims to undergo indoctrination from other religious texts. Hinduism, buddhism, jainism and such. The use of psychotropic substances, deprivation and surgery is also hinted at.

The idea is to create an archetype imbalance (make subject question reality) and replace the current archetype with another(introduce different reality), then reinforce it. Stage I is for 'shallow converts' and lasts for 12 months. Stage II is for hardened recruits and can go on indefinitely, or until 'subject breaks'. Stage III involves a kind of lobotomy before release into society.

You get the picture.

Internal rivalries in Iran are primed to undermine Rouhani in looming storm
[Rudaw] When the Iranian ambassador to the UK agreed to be interviewed on BBC Radio to talk about the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Actions (JCPOA), he thought it was a straight-forward affair since as a seasoned diplomat he had been one of the main negotiators of the 2015 landmark nuclear deal.

Hamid Baeidinejad explained on May 17 that Iran would not hesitate to take further steps once the two month ultimatum which Tehran gave to the remaining members of the nuclear deal earlier this month, runs out: "...I assure you that these steps are within the boundary of the JCPOA. We are not deciding at this moment to withdraw from the deal. Of course that could be among the options that we would be studying."

This was enough to unleash a torrent of abuse by Iranian hardliners on social media and from their main mouthpiece, Kayhan newspaper. "Mr Ambassador! Your duty is to warn Europe

Police officials to undergo polygraph test in rape case

... India's Research and Analysis Wing, Pakistain's equivalent of the Boogie Man...
ALPINDI: Police investigating the alleged involvement of its three officials in a sexual assault case have decided to conduct a polygraph test of the accused as well as the victim.

The victim is likely to record her statement with the judicial magistrate on Friday.

On the other hand, the four suspects, three police constables and a civilian, who are on five-day remand custody, will be produced before the court on Friday. The police are likely to request the court for extension in their remand.

Police will also collect forensic evidence from the car which was used by the accused persons and also send their clothes for forensic analysis.

The 21-year-old woman, who is associated with a call centre at Satellite Town, was allegedly raped when she along with her friend was having Sehri at Bahria Town Phase 8 in a car on May 156.

She informed the police that they were sitting in their car when a white car stopped nearby. Four people stepped out from the car and dragged the woman and her friend out of their car.

She alleged that the four men then dragged her into their car and drove away. They stopped the car along the roadside after reaching a deserted place and subjected her to sexual assault.

Later, the accused dropped her near her hostel at 4am and fled, she said, adding the accused also snatched Rs30,000 and a gold ring from her.

When a police brass hat was asked about the role of victim’s friend, he said police did not see any role of him because the victim had not accused him at any stage.

Meanwhile,

Ab Aur Nahin, a civil society organization, in a press statement expressed concerns over media reports about the sexual assault of the woman at gunpoint by constables of the Rawalpindi police.

"As lawyers, activists and most of all citizens of this country, they are shocked and outraged by this report. As heinous a crime as rape is, it is even more atrocious when committed by those who are entrusted with the duty to protect us," it added.

Russia to send military specialists to Congo Republic: Kremlin
Rooters reported earlier that Russian troops and contractors were on assignments in Egypt, Libya and Sudan, though only in the case of Sudan did Russian officials acknowledge the Russian presence.
[AlAhram] Russia is sending military specialists to Congo Republic to service Russian-made military hardware and equipment there, Kremlin front man Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

Congo borders Central African Republic (CAR), where Moscow has a U.N.-approved mission, and will become one of the few African countries with an officially confirmed presence of Russian military personnel on the ground.

In recent years Moscow has pushed for influence on the continent - where China has a major economic presence - by signing military cooperation deals with around 20 African countries.

Peskov, in a conference call with news hounds, disregarded questions on how many military specialists Russia will send to Congo Republic and whether they are regular soldiers or private contractors working for the Russian government.

He said they are expected to service military hardware and munitions that had been supplied earlier.

"Much of this hardware can be still used if there is proper maintenance and these people, who are sent there, will service the munitions," Peskov said.

The military deal was signed on Thursday after talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. and his Congolese counterpart Denis Sassou Nguesso in the Kremlin.

Russia has donated hundreds of weapons and sent more than 200 trainers to Central African Republic earlier this year to bolster the government’s fight against militia groups after receiving an exemption from a United Nations

Crime Boss Killed In Police Raid In Kabul
[ToloNews] The Ministry of Interior Affairs in a statement on Thursday confirmed that Enayat Qochi, head of "one of the most dangerous criminal networks in Kabul" was killed in a raid by security forces in Paghman district, Kabul province.

The raid happened when Qochi stole a car with the help of his seven comrades in Kabul’s PD4 and he was chased by police until he reached his hideout in Paghman.

Three other members of the group were also killed in the operation, the Interior Ministry’s front man Nusrat Rahimi said.

He said that Qochi was in police’s wanted list for a long time and that he was involved in many criminal cases, including armed robberies and murders.

In their last attempt, the group robbed a vehicle from Kabul’s PD4 on Thursday afternoon while they had a military uniform, but they were chased and killed by the security forces, Rahimi said.

This comes as crime cases have sharply increased in Kabul which has created concerns among the residents.

Britain
New UK Conservative leader expected in place before Parliament break
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The result of the contest to find a new leader of the Conservative Party to replace Theresa May as British prime minister is expected to be announced before Parliament breaks for its summer holiday, the party said on Friday, according to Rooters.

May earlier announced she would step down as Conservative leader on June 7 to trigger a contest to replace her, and party bosses said nominations would close in the week beginning June 10, according to Rooters.

"Successive rounds of voting will take place until a final choice of candidates to put to a vote of all party members is determined," senior Conservative figures said in a statement.

"We expect that process to be concluded by the end of June, allowing for a series of hustings around the UK for members to meet and question the candidates, then cast their votes in time for the result to be announced before parliament rises for the summer."

AFP reported that Theresa May’s successor as party leader and prime minister was expected to be in place by parliament’s summer recess set for July 20.

In a statement, the center-right party’s chairman Brandon Lewis said nominations among MPs would close in the week beginning June 10, before party members choose between the top two candidates "in time for the result to be announced before parliament rises for the summer," according to AFP.

Illegal Alien Accused of Raping, Impregnating 11-Year-Old Girl
[BREITBART] An illegal alien has been placed in durance vile
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
and charged with statutory rape after he allegedly impregnated an 11-year-old girl in Phoenix, Arizona.

Carlos Jacinto Cobo-Perez, a 20-year-old illegal alien living in the United States, was arrested this week after an 11-year-old girl’s pregnancy was confirmed at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, according to ABC 15 Arizona.

According to the 11-year-old, Cobo-Perez got her pregnant when she skipped class to have sex with him in his car. The alleged statutory rape came after the girl’s mother had warned the illegal alien to stay away from her daughter because she says she found a hickey on the girl’s neck.

The girl’s mother told police she did not know her daughter could be pregnant with Cobo-Perez’s baby until she heard the illegal alien bragging about having sex with her daughter. The woman said she reported the alleged sexual misconduct multiple times to police but no arrests were ever made.

Now, the illegal alien is being held on a $150,000 bond for statutory rape. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has a detainer on the Cobo-Perez so that should he be released from prison, he will be turned over to federal agents for deportation.

#3  I don't want to see another bastard spawn of a paedophile mexican further endangering American children.

I believe there should be no 'right to abortion'. There should be a process that by default assists a rape victim, allowing her to choose to carry the baby to term, or to let the govt. terminate it.

I don't believe in the sanctity of all life.

I'm anti-abortion because it's counterproductive to American interests to let the dyke horde legislate something that will severely destabilize white society further. As you will notice black people do not abort either, it's not because they're raising star specimens or for the love of Jesus. It's long term strategy to increase numbers.

#4  Dron66046, African-Americans abort their babies at a higher rate than the white population, at least as of 2016 according to the CDC:

According to the CDC report, the rate of abortion among African-American women is far higher than among white American women. While black women make up only six percent of the U.S. population, they account for 35 percent of abortions reported.

That doesn't include unreported and underreported abortions. The CDC report includes only abortion disclosures from 29 states. Meanwhile, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming either "did not report, did not report by race/ethnicity, or did not meet reporting standards."

White people comprise 77 percent of the population, and white mothers account for 37 percent of abortions. Hispanics make up 17.6 percent of the population and account for 19 percent of abortions.

Pro-life advocates have long argued that the abortion industry specifically targets minorities, highlighting the movement's racist roots.

[DAWN] Three suspects, including two females, beat feet from the court on Thursday after their interim pre-arrest bail was recalled in a case pertaining to alleged abduction and rape of a Christian girl, who is said to have converted to Islam.

Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
The additional district and sessions’ judge (west), Mumtaz Ali Solangi, had granted interim pre-arrest bail to the suspects against a surety bond of Rs30,000 each on May 14.

On Thursday, the judge pronounced his verdict reserved on the applications seeking confirmation of the suspects’ bail before arrest after hearing arguments from both sides.

The judge dismissed their applications seeking confirmation of the interim pre-arrest bail, which was also recalled.

The three suspects, who stayed outside the courtroom, easily escaped in the presence of the investigating officer, said the judicial staff and complainant’s lawyer.

Earlier, the judge wrote in his order that after hearing arguments from the parties and perusing the record it appeared that the applicants were nominated in the FIR with their specific role of kidnapping, abducting or inducing the complainant to compel her for marriage with the detained suspect.

"The record shows that the complainant is aged about 15/16 years and she is minor one," the order said.

It further stated: "The complainant recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code before the concerned magistrate in which she fully denied the acceptance of the religious Islam and execution of freewill and performing her Nikkah with the co-accused."

The order further stated that "she deposed they forcibly obtained her signatures on plain papers and the co-accused committed Zinna with her".

Populists eye upsets as UK, Netherlands open EU elections
[DAWN] Voters in Brexit-bound Britannia cast ballots on Thursday at the start of 28-nation EU elections in which Eurosceptic, anti-immigration forces have vowed a political earthquake to shake up the Brussels establishment.

With Prime Minister Theresa May’s resignation appearing imminent after she postponed a forlorn attempt to push her divorce deal through parliament, Britannia joined the Netherlands in kicking off four days of voting across the continent.

The elections were a surreal spectacle in a country that was supposed to have already left the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
after voting for Brexit in a referendum almost three years ago.

Sexual harassment of student: Varsity teacher’s plea against his sacking dismissed
[DAWN] The Lahore High Court has dismissed a petition of a private university’s teacher challenging his removal from service on charges of sexually harassing a female student.

Asif Saleem was serving as an assistant professor at the University of Lahore and was also a student of PhD at the varsity’s Institute of Molecular Biology and Bio Technology.

On the complaint of a female student, an inquiry was initiated and after Mr Saleem was found guilty he was dismissed from service under the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Amendment) Act, 2012. He was also expelled from the university’s PhD programme.

He filed an appeal before the ombudsperson against his removal but it was dismissed. The Punjab

2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

governor also rejected his appeal.

The petitioner contended before the high court that the impugned orders were illegal and against the law and facts. He said no opportunity of personal hearing had been afforded to him, as such he had been condemned unheard. He also claimed that the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Amendment) Act, 2012 was not applicable to his case as he was implicated on the basis of jealousy by the complainant and others.

A provincial law officer opposed the petition and sought its dismissal at limine stage by stating that after a proper inquiry the petitioner had been found guilty of sexual harassment.

He said the petitioner was an assistant professor and the victim was his student and if such acts were not curbed with an iron hand the dignity and prestige of female students would be compromised.

In the dismissal verdict, Justice Jawad Hassan observed that the work environment for women, in a male-dominated society like Pakistain’s, is often hostile and antagonistic, hindering their contribution to their country’s development, as well as their right to employment.

Three men sentenced to death for raping girl in Sanghar
[DAWN] Three men were handed death sentences on Friday by an additional sessions court in Sanghar on Friday for the gang rape of a student of class nine.

Judge Inayatullah Bhutto awarded death sentence to Jahanzeb Qaimkhani, Danish Qaimkhani and Wasim Qaimkhani after they were found guilty of rape committed in 2010.

Another accused in the case, Suhail Rajput, was given life imprisonment.

All the convicts, who were present during the hearing today, were placed in durance vile
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
by police from within the court premises after the judgment was pronounced.

The judge, however, acquitted three women who were nominated in the case. The women are relatives of the convicts and were friends of the victim.

An uncle of the victim had registered a first information report (FIR) in 2010 at Khipro Police Station of a rape case and nominated the three women along with the four convicts.

According to the FIR, the victim, a resident of Khipro and a student of class nine, was invited by the three women for a get-together at their place, where she was given sweets to eat. She fell unconscious when she ate them and after coming to her senses realised that she had been raped.

The FIR added that the culprits also recorded a video of their act and uploaded it on several social media sites, including YouTube. The accused Jahanzeb and Danish can be identified from the video, the uncle had mentioned.

Pentagon: Iran Revolutionary Guard behind attacks on vessels off UAE
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] For the first time, Pentagon officials on Friday publicly blamed Iran and its proxies for recent tanker bombings near United Arab Emirates and a rocket attack in Iraq.

Vice Admiral Michael Gilday told Pentagon news hounds that the US has "very high confidence" that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard was responsible for the kabooms on four tankers, and that Iranian proxies in Iraq fired rockets into Baghdad. He said Iran also tried to deploy modified small boats that were capable of launching cruise missiles.

Briefing news hounds at the Pentagon, Gilday, the Joint Staff director, said the conclusions were based on intelligence and evidence gathered in the region, and officials said they are trying to declassify some of the information so that it could be made public.

"This is truly operations driven by intelligence," Gilday said, adding that the US continues to see intelligence suggesting that Iran is actively planning attacks against the US and partners in the region by the Revolutionary Guard and Iranian proxies in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and Iraq.

When pressed for proof of Iran’s involvement, he said the mines used in the tanker attacks were attributed directly to the Revolutionary Guard.

"I’m not reverse engineering this," he said. "The Iranians have said publicly they were going to do things. We learn more through intelligence reporting. They have acted upon those threats and they've actually attacked."

Arrests in Algeria ahead of weekly protests
[AlAhram] Algerian police tossed in the calaboose

dozens of people on Friday at the Grand Post Office, a key rallying point for protesters in the capital Algiers, witnesses and journalists said.

An AFP journalist saw a woman arrested near the post office, where security fences were erected this week in an attempt to prevent demonstrators accessing the site.

Several hundred protesters gathered near the building on Friday, but they were kept at bay by a police cordon and a row of vehicles.

"Patrols criss-crossed the city and arrested anyone suspected of joining the rally," Said Salhi, vice-president of the Algerian League for the Defence of Human Rights, said on Twitter.

"It seems they (the authorities) want to ban the rally," he added.

The protest movement forced president Abdelaziz Bouteflika
... 10th president-for-life of Algeria. He was elected in 1999 and is currently on his third or fourth term. Maybe it's the fifth....
to step down on April 2, after two decades in power.

But rallies -- now into a fourteenth week -- have continued each Friday, to pressure army chief Ahmed Gaid Salah, interim President Abdelkader Bensalah and others to leave office.

"Tired of the generals!," "Gaid Salah resign!," protesters chanted Friday.

Mehenna Abdeslam, a protester and a university teacher, told AFP he witnessed "the police systematically arrest anyone carrying a banner".

But "we will not stop" demonstrating, he added.

Local news site TSA reported police in Algiers made "massive arrests among the protesters".

It also noted a heavy presence of female coppers, for the first time since the protests began.

A presidential election that was originally due to take place in April is scheduled for July 4, but the protest movement wants the poll scrapped, in the absence of new independent institutions to oversee voting.

Prayer leader shot dead in ‘targeted attack’ in Karachi
[DAWN] A prayer leader was rubbed out in a suspected assassination in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
's Sachal area on Friday morning, officials said.

Mohammed Arbab, 55, was coming out of the Minarul Huda Masjid in Sachal Goth near Murtaza Chowk after offering Fajr prayers when armed pillion riders opened indiscriminate fire on him and fled, said Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur.

He sustained 11 bullet wounds and was transported to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi. He was shifted to the operation theatre and died within half an hour, according to police surgeon Dr Qarar Ahmed Abbasi.
11 hits? Doesn't sound indiscriminate to me, but what do I know?
"It appeared to be a assassination incident," the Malir SSP told Dawn. However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
the senior officer ruled out the possibility of a sectarian motive being behind the murder.

He pointed out that the dear departed was a prayer leader (khateeb) of the mosque belonging to the Ahle Hadees school of thought. SSP Bahadur believed that there was no history of targeting Ahle Hadees followers on sectarian grounds.

The victim’s father is also a khateeb of the same mosque.

Police Sherlocks collected 11 spent bullet casings from the scene of the crime and sent to the police’s forensic science lab to ascertain as to whether the same weapon was used in previous murder cases.

The Malir SSP said that the Sherlocks have ’some clues’ about the possible motive of the murder and are working on it. He did not elaborate.
"We suspect that somebody was resentful because he was holier than they were, so they bumped him off."

Afghanistan
Imam killed, 16 wounded in Kabul mosque blast
[DAWN] A prominent Afghan religious scholar was killed and another 16 people maimed in a blast during Friday prayers at a Kabul mosque, officials said.
"Happy Ramadan!"
It was not immediately clear what caused the kaboom, which took place at the al-Taqwa mosque in eastern Kabul, where Maulvi Samiullah Rehan had been the imam, or prayer leader.

Friday prayers, especially during Ramazan, are usually well attended. The kaboom took place around 1:20 pm. No one immediately grabbed credit for the blast.

"Unfortunately in the blast, Maulvi Rehan has been martyred and 16 other worshippers were maimed," said Nasrat Rahimi, front man for the interior ministry.

Police front man Firdaus Faramarz confirmed to AFP that Rehan was killed and said Sherlocks were probing the nature of the kaboom.

Local television channel Tolo said the kaboom was caused by a bomb.

Rehan was relatively well known in Kabul, as he appeared frequently on religious shows broadcast on local TV.

While Kabul has seen frequent attacks on Shia shrines and gatherings, particularly by the Death Eater Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group's Afghanistan affiliate, Rehan was a Sunni imam.

Rehan's Facebook page showed him standing alongside members of the Afghan cops.
Tolo News adds:
Raihan was a well-known religious scholar who was answering people’s questions through media programs.

He also was a supporter to Afghan security forces and in his preaches were praising the Afghan soldiers for defending the people and the country.

The statement said the explosion happened at Taqwa Mosque in Paktia Kot area in Kabul.

Eyewitnesses said another person was also killed in the explosion.
Khaama Press named the mosque in question as Isteghfar Mosque.
Everyone has something to say on this one, it seems. Al Ahram adds:
He was also a member of the National Ulema Council, Afghanistan's top Moslem holy manal body.

Firdaws Faramarz, a police front man, said explosives were apparently placed near the altar of the al-Taqwa mosque, a place used by the mosque leader to initiate the prayers.

Fires break out in Israeli communities adjacent to Gaza border a day after Israel shrinks Gaza fishing zone because of fire balloons
[IsraelTimes] Firefighters are working to extinguish a number of fires in the Israeli communities surrounding the Gazoo Strip, some of which were caused by balloon-borne incendiary devices, the fire department says.

Paleostinian media is reporting that the Sons of Zoari terror group has launched hundreds of these arson balloons into southern Israel from Gazoo throughout the day.

At least two fires in the Eshkol region of southern Israel were sparked by these devices, the local fire department says.

One of them caused a large amount of damage to a wheat field outside Kibbutz Nahal Oz.

Israel shrinks Gaza fishing zone after rash of arson balloons

A day after expanding fishing area to 15 nautical miles, military restricts it back to 10, following spate of fires in southern Israel.
reduce the fishing fleet. It's more effective
The incendiary attacks would appear to violate the reported terms of the truce.

The last days have seen an uptick in the amount of balloon-borne incendiary devices launched into Israel, despite the reported truce.

Israel refuses to officially acknowledge the existence of a ceasefire agreement, but has largely abided by the reported terms of it.

According to Israel’s Channel 12 news, the agreement includes a Hamas obligation to halt violent incidents along the border fence, maintaining a buffer zone 300 meters from the border; an end to the launching of incendiary balloons at Israeli communities and nighttime clashes between Gazans and security forces; and a stop to flotillas trying to break through the maritime border between Gaza and Israel.

In return, Israel expanded the fishing zone and agreed to enable United Nations cash-for-work programs, allow medicine and other civil aid to enter the Strip, and open negotiations on matters relating to electricity, crossings, healthcare and funds.

"Guys, they just issued a tornado watch in D.C.," she says in the video.

She then pans over and shows the rain and a few people who were caught in the deluge.

"Oh no, there’s people stuck outside. We need to get them out," she says in the livestream.

The video then shows alarms going off in the House building.

She also used the powerful storm to bring attention to climate change, the cause she’s focused on the most during her freshman year in congress.

"The climate crisis is real y’all ... guess we’re at casual tornadoes in growing regions of the country," she wrote in her Instagram story.

#5  First of all, there "ARE" people outside, NOT, "there IS" people outside.

Secondly, anyone who has lived in the Midwest for any length of time knows how to act in a tornado. Perhaps AOC would like to live in, say, Kansas City for a while?
Posted by: Tom || 05/25/2019 11:12 Comments || Top||

#6  Out here we just shoot at the tornado until it goes away.

And if it gets too close, we throw liquor bottles at it.

Did you know that if you take a empty 12 pack of cans, run some fishing string through them, and hang it from the mail box....when its blowing sideways, there is a tornado in the area? Y'all from the cities don't laugh, because sometimes they hide behind trees.

It didn't use to be this way. Used to be a tornado would land, walk a bit, and take off. Since climate change, tornadoes have become very aggressive, and like graboids, tend to charge portable structures like mobile homes. What we do is get together with our neighbors and we each place a mobile home in the same area to steer a tornado away from the crops. Obviously in a food desert like Jefferson City, there is not enough room to do this trick, mostly because of gentrification and colonialism; there is absolutely zero evidence of any tornadoes during the Cahokian culture until Christianity was introduced.

Now if for some reason you find yourself trying to get through Kansas as fast as you can, but run into a storm or take the 'wrong exit' and end up i a saloon, y'all want to try to blend in cause we can smell soap from across the street. Don't order a tornado shot; sambuca is something we only say round here when we bang against the trailer hitch. Order a turkey 101 with a hot sauce backer, curz lite chaser. Say it like that or you are a dead givaway for a loafer wearin' yawrker.

Russian army helping Venezuela amid US 'threats': Moscow's ambassador
[AlAhram] Russian troops in Venezuela are helping President Nicolas Maduro
Venezuela's attempt at producing a Muammar Qadaffy...
's embattled regime prepare in the face of the "threat of the use of force" by the US, Moscow's ambassador to Caracas told AFP Friday.

A key Maduro ally, Moscow deployed around 100 soldiers in March to bolster the Caracas regime that has faced a growing crisis since opposition leader Juan Guaido proclaimed himself acting president and is now recognised by dozens of countries including the US.

The move ratcheted up already high tensions between Washington and Moscow, with US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
calling for Russia to "get out" of the South American country.

"The Venezuelan government has been in a state of anxious anticipation since the US has repeatedly threatened to use force against the country," Russian ambassador Vladimir Zaemsky told AFP in an interview in Moscow.

"In these conditions they need to be sure that the weapons they have are in a functioning state," he said.

Russian military experts, Zaemsky said, are there to train the Venezuelans "in maintaining combat readiness of their equipment and teach them how best to use it." They are legally allowed to be there under an agreement signed between the two countries in 2001, he said.

But the Russian diplomat said he nonetheless believed in a peaceful way of resolving the crisis, through "dialogue and the search for compromise".

He said Moscow welcomed mediation efforts undertaken by Norway, where both the Maduro regime and the opposition sent delegations.

"It is very good that these talks are taking place," Zaemsky said.

But he blamed US-backed Guaido and an opposition "influenced by radicals" for stalling the dialogue in Venezuela.

Washington has given full throated backing to Guaido, who tried but ultimately failed to ignite an anti-Maduro military uprising.

"It looks like American strategists hoped that the regime change efforts would bring quick successes," said Zaemsky. "Clearly the lack of success has caused some irritation and they looked for who to blame"

'NO CONTACT' WITH MADURO
Zaemsky denied Russia played a role in keeping Maduro in power during Guaido's failed uprising attempt on April 30. According to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Maduro had been ready to flee to Cuba but Russia talked him out of it. Zaemsky called this "another lie" and said there was "no contact" between Moscow and Caracas that day.

Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
discussed the situation in Caracas with Pompeo during a May 14 meeting in Russia's Back Sea resort of Sochi.

The Venezuela crisis is just one of many points of tension between Moscow and Washington. The two former Cold War foes are also at loggerheads over the Iran nuclear issue, the war in Syria and accusations of Russia interference in the 2016 US presidential election.

Maduro has presided over the collapse of oil-rich Venezuela's economy, leading to shortages of basic food and medicine.

An estimated three million people have fled the crisis in Venezuela since 2015.

Gandhi-Nehru brand tainted by new election humiliation
[DAWN] A second straight landslide election defeat for opposition Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised serious questions on Friday about his leadership and cast a damaging shadow over one of the world's most prominent political dynasties.

Gandhi, who even lost the family constituency seat to the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party of arch-rival Narendra Modi, will have to face the music at a meeting of party leaders in coming days.

The election results made grim reading for Congress barons who have relied for generations on the talismanic Nehru-Gandhi name ‐ which rivals the Kennedy clan in the United States and the Bhuttos in Pakistain ‐ to provide electoral success.

The tarnished party was predicted to get about 50 seats, barely improving the historic low 44 it won in Modi's last landslide in 2014. Congress failed to get a single seat in 13 of the country's 29 states.

When asked about responsibility for the loss, Rahul Gandhi told a presser late Thursday: "This is between my party and me. Between me and the Congress Working Committee."

Party spokesmen have insisted the 48-year-old son, grandson and great-grandson of Indian prime ministers would not resign and that strategy was to blame for the defeat.

"We have to go back to the drawing board," Congress front man Salman Soz told AFP.

#6  The problem is in the Congress Party, headed by the Gandhi clan (or so people think). Actually the truth has more parallel in contemporary US politics.

The Congress Party is an amalgam of politicians working for bureaucrats, faux-leftists and profiteers deeply invested in robbing natural resources, drying up water tables, mining the fuck out of land and selling out to corporations. This party needs a 'saleable face', a name that India can trust - what better than Gandhi. Synonymous with the Mahatma. Also India first learnt to walk on its legs after being raped and pillaged by the British and the Muslims for 940 years, under the brave Leadership of men and women from this party. But as the govt. was based on absolute power of the few, their dynasty gave in to greed. The last okay leader was Indira Gandhi, the first woman PM of India. That was in the 80s.

Today's Congress Party is just the Indianized version of the democrat socialist pattern to which every 'progressive' asshole fascist subscribes around the world. eg: Trudeau, Merkel, Macron, Obama, Cameron... you know this list.

Many people in India who praise Modi also diss Trump, unaware that they both share an anti-islamist, truly progressive mindset. Both are committed to the furthering of their national interests and both focus on the economy and infrastructure, giving a backseat to puerile social justice and PC shit.

There's a pattern of resurgence of conservative power all over the world I think.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta.

There has been no claim of responsibility as yet.

The DIG said that out of 618 mosques, 100 have been provided with security. He added that 1,500 police officials have been posted across the city.

"Those who make innocent people the target of terrorism in this blessed month and on this blessed day deserve a severe punishment," he said, while ordering security measures in the city to be further strengthened.

Judge Raises Serious Questions About Democrats’ Border Wall Lawsuit
[DAILYCALLER] A federal judge expressed deep skepticism over a lawsuit by House Democrats that seeks to cut funding for President Donald Trump

U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden questioned, during a three-hour court hearing Thursday, the legitimacy of a lawsuit that challenges the White House’s funding of border wall construction without explicit permission from Congress, The Wall Street Journal reported.

McFadden said the question of whether the House has legal standing in this case "is a significant issue." Has the House "used all the tools at its disposal before rushing to court?" he said.

"There are other tools in your arsenal here, right?" McFadden asked.

The federal judge, a Trump appointee of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, said the judiciary should exercise prudence about wading into a fight between the two other branches of government.
