-Short Attention Span Theater-
The human race is in grave danger of stupidity, not coronavirus
I do so love crap from the British tabs...
[DAILYSTAR.CO.UK] The human race is in grave danger. Thousands of people are showing severe symptoms already and there is no known cure.
It's today's plague!
No, not coronavirus
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europa it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
, but sheer bloody stupidity.
There is a lot of that around
Never have so many brain cells been sacrificed on the altar of toilet paper fever. Come on people, what is that about?
When you gotta wipe, you gotta wipe.
Why, when you’re warned you may get a (for most folk, mild) respiratory tract infection do you instantly think what you really need in your life is industrial supplies of bog roll?
I dunno. Last time I had flu-like symptoms, I also got th trotz.
On what planet does that even begin to make sense? (Okay, possibly Uranus).
Take him/her/it off to the punitentury!
It’s not as if our sexy new version of flu gives you a runny nose. It’s mainly a dry cough and fever.
No trotz?
The only reason you may need that much Andrex is because you’ve stockpiled baked beans and tinned prunes too. Which is probably highly likely.
Mmmm! Prunez!
A vaccine for Covid-19 is already being tested and, like every other flu before it, we will soon have this particular lurgy under control. But, alas, being a sheep-minded moron is terminal.
Vaccines won't do you any good if you already have it.
Those efficient German types actually have a word for panic buying – hamsterkauf.
We've all heard about Saint Vitus Hamstertänzen, which so devastated Europa only a few centuries ago. Tragic. Simply tragic.
It says what it does on the tin (probably tomatoes because they’re being stockpiled too). Hamsters hoard stuff in their cheeks. They also have very small brains. Go figure.
They require teeny-tiny rolls of bumf.
On International Women’s Day footage of females fighting over loo rolls in an Australian supermarket went viral.
Dear Gawd! Not wimminz too?
Each of them had trolleys full of the stuff. More than they’ll ever need in a month of Sundays,
C'mon! What do you know about their digestive habits?
let alone the one or two weeks we’re all supposed to be now sofa surfing in front of Netflix. Curiously not one of them had any food. Which means they’ll starve to death surrounded by a fortress of pulped trees and cardboard tubes.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
Disinformation about the coronavirus is spreading as quickly as the virus, thanks to the usual players.
[Defense One] Chinese authorities maintain that COVID-19 likely originated at a market in Wuhan where people were selling bat meat. But Iranian, Russian, and Chinese propaganda media outlets would like you to believe, without evidence, that the emerging public health crisis comes from U.S. biological weapons.

Disinformation about the coronavirus is spreading as quickly as the outbreak, fueled by Iranian, Russian, and Chinese government-backed campaigns blaming and attacking the United States as the source for the scourge.

"One narrative all three countries [including China] highlight is the notion that the United States is weaponizing the crisis for political gain and thus worsening its spread globally," Rachel Chernaskey, a project manager for the Foreign Influence Election 2020 Project with the Foreign Policy Research Institute, or FPRI, wrote yesterday.

"While all three countries’ state-sponsored outlets pushed explicitly anti-U.S. sentiments, Iran and Russia appeared to push far more conspiratorial content than China. In the disinformation ecosystem, each country’s state-sponsored media played off the others to promote shared preferred narratives," she wrote.

The outbreak has hit Iran particularly hard, with confirmed 291 deaths and 8042 cases according to today’s numbers released by the Iranian government. Government officials, including about 10 percent of Iran’s parliament and various health officials such as Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi, have tested positive for the virus.

Iran has most aggressively pushed fake news about the illness. State-backed PressTV repeatedly has broadcast the theory that COVID-19 may be a U.S. manufactured bioweapon, or that Isreali and "Zionist" scientists have used the epidemic as a cover to engineer an even more deadly strain of the virus to spring on humanity, and specifically on Iran.

China-Japan-Koreas
Chinese firm encourages people to EAT DOGS to show 'cultural confidence' as it boycotts drafted law that bars pet meat from the dinner plate in the wake of coronavirus outbreak
[MAIL] A company specialising in making dog meat dishes has claimed that eating dogs is a way for Chinese people to show their 'cultural confidence'.

Fankuai Dog Meat from eastern China made the statement in a blog post while protesting against a proposed law which bans people from consuming pets in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

The brand claims that lawmakers in the city of Shenzhen drafted the proposal to appease the West.

Fankuai produces a wide range of dishes, including hand-shredded dog meat, spicy dog meat and dog meat braised in a turtle broth.

Based in the county of Pei in Jiangsu Province, the firm is named after an ancient Chinese general who allegedly made his living by butchering dogs in his early years.

The company published the strongly worded article last Thursday to condemn the potential policy from Shenzhen, which borders Hong Kong.

The commentary blasted the city's plan as a 'denial to thousands of years of Chinese food culture'.

It claimed that relevant officials had stood on the opposite side of the general public and drawn the proposal to appease the West, which is used to 'bullying' Chinese culture.

It also said that the proposal represented 'extreme dog lovers' and created 'inharmonious social atmosphere'.

#1  A better idea is to use the crisis to reform some of the dietary habits. Just start with the idea "if nobody else in the world eats this perhaps we shoudn't..." and work from there.

Once you've stopped eating bats and birds nests you can move on to things they only eat in third world hell holes and start distancing from them as well.

Joe Biden's Bizarre Outburst Is Everything That Is Wrong With The Democrat Party
[Townhall - it's Kurt] Joe Biden, the Chauncey Gardner of American politics, the guy Elwood P. Dowd thinks is cracked, used to be sort of amusing. Except he’s not amusing anymore. His decline is sad to see, but the obnoxious sense of unearned entitlement he projects ‐ as demonstrated by his outrage over that uppity working-class guy who dared question the ancient job applicant ‐ is intolerable.

Buzz off, you crusty, credit card company-shilling jerk.

Think about the image his latest confrontation projected, of a guy who sweats while he works getting an incoherent, finger-wagging lecture from a pompous clown steamed that this peasant isn’t on his knees genuflecting before the Democrat Demigod of Dover. There once was a time when the Democrats styled themselves as the party of the working man ‐ for all his myriad flaws, Biden’s crustacean competitor Bernie Sanders at least pays lip service to the workers ‐ but that day is long past. Begone, you dirty-nailed cis-trogs, with your uncurated ideas of gender identity and upper body strength.

The Democrats are now the party of the Pumpkin IPA-sampling hipster, the woke tech tool, the militant diversity consultant, and the cat-fancying public school teacher whose husband went out to get her some Diet Coke when she was 48 and never came back.

Construction workers, cops, auto builders, truckers, soldiers ‐ you need not apply. You are not appreciated, much less wanted. There’s no place in the 2020 Democrat Party for real men, men who make things and who break things. Today, none of the Village People could be a Democrat, not even the Indian ‐ just ask Big Chief Warren.

The Blue Checks of Twitter thought this was great, and it probably played great in Manhattan and Santa Monica. In America, not so much. Likewise, with their fingers on the pulse of the people they have girly cocktails with in Georgetown fern bars, the Never Trump sissies were in full Ahoy! effect, delighted at that nasty brute getting what-for from the candidate of the True Conservative™. You could feel the underlying sense that they saw this opportunity to gloat as their pinchy, hair-pully vengeance against the kind of men their wives prefer. That is, men.

It’s not only that Biden was wrong about everything, but he was. Just the other day he was blabbing about putting the Waco Furry in charge of destroying the Second Amendment ‐ you know, the same skateboarding quarter-wit who promised "I will take your guns." Yet that promise appeared to slipped Joe’s well-greased mind. He thinks AR-15s are illegal ‐ they aren’t, but his position is to make them illegal and turn millions upon millions of American citizens into felons even while he advocates letting illegal aliens and actual criminals run free. He thinks an AR-15’s usual capacity is 100 rounds, for some reason. And it’s not an AR-14 ‐ he’s one AR off. Ugh ‐ if you’re going to fascist, is it too much to expect you to understand what you are fascisting?

Oh, and the buried lede was that "his sons" hunt and own shotguns. His good son, by all accounts a decent guy, passed away, leading to the other son Hoover getting with is ex. So, that’s awkward. And now we learn that the Stripper Tapper is strapped, that the guy who got booted from the Navy for drugs is packing? Is that even legal?

It doesn’t matter. We all understand that the rules that apply to us don’t apply to moronic mandarins like Gropey Joe or to their relatives like Hunter, the Snortunate Son

Joe Biden Can't Be President
I hadn't previously seen this clip but he's surely impaired and they just keep hiding him/it. Burn in hell, you traitorous POS's
[Powerlineblog] I’m not saying Biden shouldn’t be president. That has always been true. I am saying that he lacks the physical and mental qualities necessary to to the job‐not to do it well, but to do it at all. Biden’s mental status has slipped badly over the last few years, and he appears physically frail as well. Both his handlers and the press try to shield him from public scrutiny and hide his decline, but under the bright lights of a presidential campaign, it can’t be done.

This video clip is alarming not only for Biden’s inappropriate and bizarre response to a reporter’s question, but also for the generally out-of-it appearance that he conveys:

The Democrats apparently think they may be able to drag Biden across the finish line, but November is a long way off. I am not sure he can make it that far. If he does, best case, he will be an even worse candidate than Hillary Clinton.

Today's Great Black Dilemma
[TOWNHALL] I was proud recently when Marc Little, chairman of my organization, the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, stood behind President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
at a White House event for Black History Month and prayed for him.

Then a parade of black liberals did their thing in the media to try to deflate and devalue this important event. Their actions help us understand why so little progress has been made after more than half a century of civil rights activism.

CNNs Keith Boykin called the black Christians grouped around the president "Uncle Toms." Chris Redd of "Saturday Night Live" called them "White House negroes." And Spike Lee mocked them, writing, "We Gonna Pray Fo' You Massa."

How can we miss the irony of black liberals, their lives dedicated to keeping blacks on the government welfare plantation, using insulting plantation imagery to attack conservative black Christians working for freedom and better lives for African Americans?

The Economist magazine last year ran an article with the headline "The black-white wealth gap is unchanged after half a century."

"(I)n 1962," the article reports, "two years before the passage of landmark civil-rights legislation ... the average wealth of white households was seven times greater than that of black households. Yet after decades of declining discrimination and the construction of a modern welfare state, that ratio remains the same."

The article fails to mention that total spending on government anti-poverty and welfare programs over these years is estimated at $20 trillion.

Why do significant gaps in wealth and income persist between black Americans and the rest of the country?

Racism?

#2  If the black man's situation improved, he would lose his grievance and the left lose their power. Thus there is substantial motivation to ensure blacks never get any better.

"There is (a) class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs ... There is a certain class of race problem-solvers who don't want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

Lal Gauri, K., Sinai, J. J., & Bandyopadhyay, J. K. (1995). Geologic weathering and its implications on the age of the Sphinx. Geoarchaeology, 10(2), 119-133.

The Great Sphinx of Giza is considered by Egyptologists to have been excavated by the Pharaoh Kephren nearly 4500 years ago. Schoch and West (1991) have suggested that the Sphinx is much older, based primarily upon the rounded profile of the strata of the Sphinx thorax and the deep channels present in the walls surrounding the Sphinx ditch. These features, according to them, are due to “precipitation‐induced weathering” formed when the Sahara still experienced a humid climate at least 7000 years ago. In this article we show how weathering in an arid environment can produce the rounded profile given the gradual change in lithology of the alternating hard and soft limestone strata. We show further that the channels are actually the pre‐Pliocene karst features formed by underground water and exposed due to the excavation of the Sphinx ditch. We propose therefore that, for now, the Sphinx may still be regarded as of pharaonic origin. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

With coronavirus, the media is proving it is evil
Bookworm Room via Instapundit
I have a few things I want to say about coronavirus or Wuhan Virus. I’ll start with the little stuff and build up to the big stuff.

...This is a flu. It is an aggressive flu in the very elderly and those who have compromised immune systems. Some unlucky people who are neither old nor already ill may still be among those who end up desperately ill or dying. Life is not fair. Children seem to be immune to the disease’s ill effects. This is probably because children have wonderful lungs. As one gets older, one’s lungs stop being quite so wonderful.
