Spengler - America Won’t Survive Another Four Years of Obama
Posted by: DarthVader || 10/12/2012 12:24 || Comments || Link || [1 views] Top|| File under:

#1  If Barack Obama wins this election, the America of 2016 will resemble the beaten and bankrupt countries of Western Europe more than it will the America we grew up in.

You can probably add to the list that Sharia Law will be the law of the land and the black flag of islam will fly over the WH (sarc and cynic). You can expect full blown general conflict in the ME. Israel will be fighting for its country's life. They will have few options other than the nuclear option. I would expect a full blown effort to get rid of our 2nd Amendment and attempts at trying to confiscate firearms.

As Benghazi blame nears Hillary, Clintons grow furious

#1  Added Klein: “His fury turned to deep concern when the Benghazi business unfolded because he was deeply troubled by the appearance that the White House was going to throw Hillary under the bus, which in fact it appears it is doing.”

That could be..."unwise".
Isn't that right, Vince?
Vince? Vince??

#2  And you don't want to be anywhere near a furious Shrillery! (at least without a bulletproof body suit)

Extra butter with that popcorn? :-D

#3  Blue on Blue. Pass the popcorn. The Clintons still carry the dem party to some extent. Zero just it the hand that feeds him...

#4  But he bit it close to the election. I wonder if there's enough time for him to be stabbed in the back with deniability on the Clintons' part.

After all, he got the convention bounce he wanted from Bill and I doubt the Clintons will openly split with him - they'd lose influence with the base if they did.

But deniable devestating leaks? Maybe ....

Early Voting Violates Constitution
The U.S. Constitution sets forth the following criteria for the date of presidential elections in Article 2, Section 1:

Clause 4: Election Day "The Congress may determine the Time of chusing [sic] the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States.

Congress sets a national Election Day. Currently, Electors are chosen on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November, in the year before the President's term is to expire. The Electors cast their votes on the Monday following the second Wednesday in December of that year. Thereafter, the votes are opened and counted by the Vice President, as President of the Senate, in a joint session of Congress.

Our Founding Fathers specifically set forth "a national Election Day" -- not days. In the early days of national elections it was no easy logistical task to vote. People had to plan to cast their ballot. Many citizens had to endure long travel and hardship to cast their ballot on a single day.

...In 1792, Congress passed a law establishing November as the month for presidential elections to be conducted. This gave enough time for elections to be conducted, for voting and tabulating to take place before the next legislative session. In 1845, Congress set forth that "the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November" became the official day of presidential elections. Now you may ask yourself, why Tuesday? The answer is that many people had to travel great distances to cast their vote so Mondays was planned for as a day of travel. Sunday was never even considered because of its religious significance.

#1  The Electors of the Electoral College are 'chosen', but that act is not executed [votes counted] but on one day. This year that is -

December 17, 2012

The Electors meet in their state and vote for President and Vice President on separate ballots. The electors record their votes on six “Certificates of Vote,” which are paired with the six remaining Certificates of Ascertainment.

Playacting in Gaza: Low key escalation
[Ynet] Analysis: Despite recent rocket attacks on Israel, Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, not interested in full-blown conflict

The Hamas rulers of Gazoo do not shed a tear when Israel takes out global jihad terrorists. This was the case Sunday night when the Air Force targeted two gun-hung tough guys in Rafah, only this time 11 passersby, including women and kiddies, were also injured -- two of them critically. Monday's rocket and mortar barrages, launched by Hamas and Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the liquidation of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, were a response to the injuries incurred by Paleostinian civilians.

Islamic Jihad pushed for a response. Over the past few weeks the terror group's leaders have been pressing Hamas to end the unofficial ceasefire with Israel and reinstate the "respond to every assassination" policy. So far Hamas has been able to restrain Islamic Jihad, but on Monday, as a result of the civilian injuries, Jihad announced that it would act independently. Hamas had no choice but to join in.

The rocket attacks were a joint Hamas-Islamic Jihad effort carried out, according to a statement co-signed by both terror groups, in response to "continuous and repeated enemy crimes against our defenseless people." The global jihadists who were killed were not even mentioned. Hamas and the global jihad-affiliated groups are fierce enemies, and the Islamist group's security forces in Gazoo fight them relentlessly. Hamas deems these terror groups a threat to its rule in the coastal enclave. Moreover, Egypt is demanding that Hamas operate against these groups due to their links to fundamentalist terror groups based in the Sinai Peninsula.

Despite the fact that it took part in Monday's assault, Hamas made certain its response would not lead to major escalation. The gun-hung tough guys did not fire any Grads, but mostly rockets and mortars that were aimed at open areas and the outskirts of Israeli communities. Hamas has no interest in resuming the fighting with Israel, as it is preoccupied with building relations with the new government in Cairo and trying to prove to the Moslem Brüderbund that it is a stable and responsible ruler. This is why Hamas took part in Monday's attacks, but in a cautious and measured manner.

The IDF also avoided a response that could have resulted in a serious escalation of violence. The aerial bombings in response to the rocket fire focused on open areas in Gazoo, causing a lot of dust and noise, but no casualties. Both sides do not want to fan the flames at this juncture. This round of violence has likely ended, but it must be remembered that one rocket landing in the wrong place can quickly lead to a resumption of the fighting, in full force.
